The headline refers to the Realme P1 Speed Edition, launched in India on October 15, 2024. Realme claimed it could sustain a 90fps gaming experience until the battery reached 0%, but the available launch coverage does not disclose the game, settings, test conditions, or independent frame-rate measurements. Treat it as a manufacturer claim—not proof of 90fps in every game. The P1 Speed is also no longer Realme’s latest budget phone: the company’s India store lists newer P-series models.
What “90fps all the way to 0%” means
Realme’s reported promise was that the P1 Speed could provide a consistent 90fps gaming experience until the battery reached 0%. The careful interpretation is that the phone maintained the claimed performance during Realme’s selected test workload until it reached its low-battery shutdown point. It does not mean a phone keeps rendering a game after it has powered off or that its battery was physically depleted to nothing.
The claim comes from launch coverage, which does not identify the game or regional edition, graphics preset, frame-rate cap, brightness, network, room temperature, or monitoring method. It also provides no frame-time logs, average fps, 1% lows, temperature readings, or throttling data. Without those details or independent measurements, the result cannot be generalized to other games or conditions. Launch coverage of the P1 Speed is the source for the reported claim and specifications.

“90fps” is only one part of gaming performance. Average fps can conceal brief drops; 1% lows show how slow the worst-running frames are, while frame-time consistency indicates whether motion feels smooth or stutters. Touch latency, heat, and battery drain matter too. A 120Hz screen can refresh up to 120 times per second, but it cannot make a game render 90 frames per second if the game, settings, or phone do not support that rate.

Hardware behind the claim
Realme positioned the P1 Speed as a performance-focused member of its P1 family. Its reported gaming hardware includes the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Energy processor, a stainless-steel vapor-cooling chamber with a stated area of 6,050 mm², and GT Mode. Realme also cited a TÜV SÜD-related certification in connection with lag-free gaming. These features may support performance, but none independently establishes a sustained frame rate.
The 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display has a 120Hz refresh rate, and Realme claimed peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits. “Up to” is a peak claim, not a promise that the screen operates at that brightness continuously. The battery is rated at 5,000mAh, with 45W wired charging. Capacity alone does not predict gaming runtime, which varies with workload, brightness, signal, temperature, and battery condition.

These are reported India launch prices, not current prices or US retail prices. A temporary ₹2,000 launch discount was reported, bringing the starting price to ₹15,999 at that time. Actual present-day stock and pricing need to be checked locally. The term “budget” is relative here: the P1 Speed was an affordable performance-oriented phone in its Indian market, not an entry-level handset by every definition.

A useful independent test would name the game and regional version, confirm that it officially offers a 90fps mode, and publish its resolution and graphics settings. It would also report GT Mode, brightness, network connection, ambient temperature, case use, battery health, and whether the phone was unplugged throughout. A result from a charging phone would not establish battery endurance.

Reviewers should capture frame times and report average fps and 1% lows, alongside temperatures and elapsed time. Readings at several charge levels—such as 100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, 10%, and 5%—would reveal whether performance drops before shutdown. Repeating the run helps distinguish a repeatable result from a one-off. Online-game lag should be separated from rendering slowdown, since network latency can make play feel poor even when frame rate is stable.
Results can differ with software updates, background activity, heat, outdoor brightness, and battery aging. GT Mode may affect power use and heat; a larger cooling chamber can help manage heat but cannot remove the phone’s thermal limits. Nor does a displayed 0% specify the battery cell’s exact physical state: phones shut down at a protective cutoff.

The specifications point to a performance-first design rather than a camera-led one. The reported rear setup pairs a 50MP main camera with a 2MP secondary camera, but the available information does not establish that the secondary camera adds meaningful photographic capability. Buyers who prioritize photography should look for sample images and independent camera testing rather than infer quality from megapixel counts.

The P1 Speed’s October 2024 launch price and performance claim are historical. Realme’s India storefront now lists newer P-series phones, but a listing alone does not establish their prices, availability in a buyer’s area, or gaming performance. For a purchase today, compare the actual local price and warranty of any P1 Speed unit with current alternatives. Check whether your games support 90fps on the specific model, and prioritize independent frame-time and thermal results over a headline claim. For an older unit, battery health and remaining software support matter as much as its original specifications.
