The Realme 16 Pro+ 5G is a launched phone, not a pre-release rumor. It uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 Mobile Platform with an Adreno 722 GPU, alongside a 144Hz curved display, 200MP main camera, dedicated 50MP telephoto lens, 80W charging and a battery listed as up to 7000mAh depending on the market. Realme announced the India launch for January 6, 2026; specifications and prices can vary by country and configuration.

What Snapdragon chip powers the Realme 16 Pro+?
The confirmed processor is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, not the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 name used in some early videos and posts. It is an upper-midrange platform below Qualcomm’s current Snapdragon 8-series flagships. Realme lists an eight-core CPU and Adreno 722 graphics running at 1150MHz.

Realme advertises up to a 1,440,000 AnTuTu score, an 18% CPU improvement and a 15% GPU improvement. Those are manufacturer claims, not independent test results. Realme also says the phone can reach 120fps in mainstream games, but actual frame rates depend on the game, graphics settings, temperature, firmware and performance mode. LPDDR5X memory and UFS 3.1 storage should help multitasking and app-loading speed.

Display: 144Hz curved panel with regional claim differences
The phone has a 1280 × 2800-pixel curved display measuring 17.27cm on the India page. Its maximum refresh rate is 144Hz, while that page lists up to 240Hz touch sampling and 120Hz as the default touch-sampling rate.
Realme markets the panel as a 6500-nit HyperGlow 4D Curve+ display. The European page additionally lists 4608Hz dimming, up to 2500Hz instantaneous touch response, a 94% screen-to-body ratio and a 1.48mm bezel. These are peak or mode-specific manufacturer figures rather than a promise of sustained full-screen brightness or universal touch performance. Outdoor visibility should therefore be judged from independent testing, not the peak number alone.

200MP main camera
The primary camera has a 200MP sensor, f/1.8 aperture, 84-degree field of view, six-element lens, autofocus and two-axis optical image stabilization.

A 50MP f/2.8 telephoto camera provides 3.5× optical zoom, autofocus and two-axis optical stabilization. This dedicated lens is more useful for portraits and distant subjects than relying only on a crop from the main sensor.

8MP ultrawide and 50MP selfie camera
The ultrawide camera is 8MP with a 115.5-degree field of view, f/2.2 aperture, five-element lens and autofocus. The front camera is 50MP. Realme lists 4K video at 60fps and 30fps for supported cameras and modes, along with HDR, dual-view video and time-lapse features.
Megapixel counts do not establish image quality by themselves. Sensor size, image processing, exposure consistency, autofocus and stabilization will determine how the cameras perform in real use.
Battery, charging and the 6500mAh versus 7000mAh issue
Realme’s India specification page lists a 7000mAh typical capacity and 6850mAh rated capacity. The European page describes two 3500mAh cells, equivalent to 7000mAh typical capacity and 6840mAh rated capacity. Some promotional sections instead use 6500mAh. The safest conclusion is that capacity presentation varies by regional listing and marketing material; buyers should read the specification page for their market.
Charging is rated at 80W. Compatibility figures listed by Realme include 55W PPS, 30W VOOC, 13.5W USB Power Delivery and 13.5W Quick Charge. Reverse charging and bypass charging are supported, and Realme advertises a six-year battery-health claim. That longevity statement is a company claim subject to usage and testing conditions, not a guaranteed service life.

RAM, storage and software
India configurations are 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, 8GB with 256GB, and 12GB with 256GB. All use LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, with no microSD expansion. A third-party listing mentions 12GB/512GB, but that tier is not shown on the reviewed India Realme page, so treat it as market-specific or unconfirmed until a local store confirms it.
The official specification lists realme UI 7.0. The reviewed first-party page does not independently establish the underlying Android version or a universal software-update schedule.

India dimensions are approximately 16.25cm tall and 7.63cm wide. Camellia Pink is about 0.81cm thick and 198g; Master Grey and Master Gold are about 0.85cm thick and 203g.

Realme advertises IP69 water and dust resistance. That rating does not make the phone waterproof or immune to liquid damage, and repair or warranty treatment can depend on local terms.

eSIM support is regional: the European specification page lists support for some carriers, while the Philippines page says eSIM is unsupported. Do not assume every regional model has eSIM.
Launch, price and regional checks
Third-party launch coverage reports an India launch on January 6, 2026, with a starting price of ₹39,999. That is a launch-market figure, not a universal or necessarily current price. No reliable US price or broad US availability is established by the cited sources.
Before buying, check the local Realme store for:
- Exact RAM and storage tier.
- Typical versus rated battery capacity.
- eSIM availability and supported 4G/5G bands.
- Whether an 80W charger is included.
- Warranty, service coverage and current promotional price.
Is the Realme 16 Pro+ a good fit?
Consider it if you want
- Upper-midrange performance rather than entry-level hardware.
- A very large battery and fast wired charging.
- A high-refresh curved display.
- A dedicated telephoto camera for portraits and optical zoom.
- LPDDR5X and UFS 3.1 for responsive everyday use.
Look elsewhere if you need
- Flagship Snapdragon 8-series gaming performance.
- MicroSD storage expansion.
- Guaranteed eSIM support in every country.
- Confirmed US carrier compatibility or universal global availability.
- Independent proof of the advertised benchmark, battery endurance or sustained gaming claims.
The Realme 16 Pro+ has an unusually broad feature set for an upper-midrange phone: Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 performance, a stabilized 200MP camera, 3.5× optical telephoto, 144Hz display and high-capacity battery. Its value depends on the local price and the exact regional model, especially storage, eSIM and battery specifications.
