Quadro’s currently linked self-install guide is for an Amino Q tv set-top box. Connect it to your TV with HDMI, select the matching TV input, then follow the on-screen prompts to connect to Wi-Fi and activate Q tv. This guide also covers the Amigo 7x remote’s main controls and common problems. Quadro equipment has changed over time, so check your box and remote before using instructions marked for older Qtv equipment.
What comes with the Quadro set-top box
Quadro’s Amino self-install guide lists a set-top box, power cord, HDMI cable, remote control, and two batteries. Before setup, have these ready:
- A TV with an available HDMI input and a nearby power outlet.
- Your home Wi-Fi name and password.
- Your Q tv login credentials.
- Optional: an Ethernet cable if you plan to connect the box to a nearby router.
The linked self-install document is a short setup sheet, not a full hardware manual; it does not specify every box’s ports, storage, or supported resolutions. If your equipment differs, follow its on-screen directions or contact Quadro rather than assuming another model’s instructions apply.
Install the Amino box
- Place the box near the TV, with room for its cables.
- Connect the power cord to the box and an outlet.
- Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the box and the other to an HDMI port on the TV. Note the port number or label, such as HDMI 1.
- Turn on the TV and the set-top box. The Amino guide says the box’s blue light indicates it is on.
- Using the TV’s own remote, select the HDMI input you used. If the TV shows “No signal” or a blank screen, check the input before assuming the box has failed.
- Follow the on-screen activation prompts. Find your Quadro Wi-Fi network and enter its password when asked, then sign in with your Q tv credentials. Activation may take several minutes.
Quadro’s Q tv packages page links to the Amino self-install guide. The exact screens can vary by box, firmware, and service version.

Connect to Wi-Fi or Ethernet
The current Amino setup sheet emphasizes connecting to Wi-Fi during activation. Use the correct network name and password; a typo or selecting a neighboring network can prevent setup.
Quadro’s more detailed Qtv 2020 installation material also describes a wired Ethernet connection from a router’s LAN port to the box’s RJ-45 port, using CAT-5, CAT-5e, or CAT-6 cable. A wired connection can be a useful alternative when Wi-Fi is weak and the router is close enough for a cable.
That older manual gives this Wi-Fi menu path: Home → Settings → Network → WiFi → enable Wi-Fi → Connect via WPS. Treat those labels as legacy, model-specific directions—not a guaranteed path on every current Amino box. Follow the menus shown on your device if they differ.

Pair the current Amino remote
First identify the remote. Quadro’s current quick-reference guide describes an Amigo 7x remote; older Qtv material refers to a KURV 2.0 Voice Remote. Their button names and pairing procedures should not be treated as interchangeable. The following steps are for the remote in Quadro’s Amino remote guide:

- Insert the two batteries and pull out the plastic battery-protection tab if present.
- Point the remote toward the set-top box.
- Press and hold OK and PPS together for five seconds, or until the STB button blinks twice.
- Release the buttons and wait for the STB button to illuminate blue. A short blink indicates pairing has succeeded, and the pairing screen should disappear.
During pairing mode, the guide says only Back works. Press Back to leave that mode. If you have a KURV or another older remote, do not try the Amigo pairing sequence by default; use the instructions for that remote or ask Quadro to identify it.

Quadro’s Amino quick guide identifies these controls. Button placement can vary; use its diagram if you need to match a control to the physical layout.

Use the Q tv guide and playback features
Browse the channel guide
- Turn on the TV and set-top box, then press Guide.
- Use the up and down arrows to move through channels and left and right arrows to move through times.
- Select a program and press OK to view its details. Press OK again to tune to it.
- Press Back or Exit twice to leave the guide.
Restart a program
If a “Play from the beginning” prompt appears, press OK. Alternatively, while watching a program, press OK, highlight Restart with the arrows, and press OK. Restart availability depends on the program, channel, and your service entitlement.
Record programs and find recordings
From the guide, select a program and press Record; you can also press Record while watching a program. When prompted, choose Record this episode only or Record all episodes. Press the red button to open recordings. The quick guide says used recording space appears in the upper-right corner.

Quadro’s packages page describes cloud DVR service, including five hours included and capacity of up to 200 hours, with additional capacity subject to the account and package. These are service-level limits, not confirmed storage inside the set-top box. The same page says the service can record up to 10 favorite shows at once; actual feature availability depends on your account configuration.
Replay and Lookback
For Replay TV, open the guide, find a channel, press the Left Arrow to highlight Replay, then press OK. The remote quick guide labels the A button “36 Hour Lookback.” Quadro’s packages page describes Lookback as available for “30+ hours” on select channels. Those descriptions differ; availability and the time window may depend on channel, guide version, or service implementation, so neither duration should be assumed for every program.
Captions and parental controls
Press SUB/CC to turn subtitles or closed captions on or off. Captions depend on the program and are not guaranteed for every broadcast.
For the documented mature-content control, press C, enter a four-digit PIN with the number keys, and switch Restrict Mature Content on or off. Keep the PIN private. Menu names can change between software versions.

Program the remote to control your TV
If the remote controls the box but not the TV’s power, input, or volume, try Quadro’s Simple Remote Wizard. The remote guide documents this path for a replacement remote:
Settings → Device Preferences → Remotes and Accessories → select the remote → Simple Setup
The wizard is intended to identify the TV brand through HDMI. The guide also documents IR learning for a limited set of keys if brand detection does not work: TV/AUX Power, TV Input, Volume Up, Volume Down, and Mute. Available options may depend on the remote and box.

Reset the remote without confusing it with a box reset
The Amino remote guide documents a reset of the remote’s TV/AUX programming—not a factory reset of the set-top box:

- Hold 1 and 6 for at least three seconds, until the TV/AUX Power key flashes twice and stays lit.
- Enter 9-8-1.
- The STB key flashes twice. The TV settings are deleted, and the remote returns to factory settings, Bluetooth mode, and an unpaired state.
You will need to pair the remote again after this procedure. Do not use it as a box-reset instruction.
Replace remote batteries safely
Do not mix battery types or old and new batteries, and do not use rechargeable batteries in the remote. Remove the batteries if you will not use it for several weeks. If a battery leaks, remove it promptly and handle it carefully; avoid contact with the leaking material.

Rent the Quadro box or use a device you own?
Quadro’s packages page lists Q tv set-top-box and remote rental at $9.95; check the live page for current pricing and terms. Quadro also supports BYOD, which may suit customers who already own a compatible device. Its BYOD compatibility page lists examples including select Amazon Fire TV devices, Apple TV models, Nvidia Shield TV, Chromecast with Google TV, selected Android TV, Samsung Tizen and LG webOS televisions, supported Android and Apple mobile devices, and Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge browsers. Compatibility varies by exact model and software version, so verify the live list before relying on a device.
Renting keeps setup on Quadro-supplied equipment; BYOD avoids that box rental but means you provide and configure a compatible device. Buying new hardware solely to avoid a monthly rental may take time to pay for itself. A compatible device is not guaranteed just because it runs other streaming apps.
When to contact Quadro
Contact Quadro if activation repeatedly fails, the box does not power on, network problems persist despite working home internet, or your account lacks features you expect. The Q tv packages page lists support at 1-800-265-4983 and hours of Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–10:00 p.m., and Saturday–Sunday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Verify the current contact details and hours on Quadro’s official page before calling.
