My Fault (Culpa Mía) and Your Fault (Culpa Tuya) show how sharply critics’ scores can diverge from streaming demand. The two Prime Video romance films were widely reported as receiving Rotten Tomatoes critics’ scores of 0% and 18%, respectively, yet My Fault also became one of Prime Video’s most-watched non-English original movies in 2023 and was reported to have returned to a Prime Video Top 10 list in October 2025. The important correction is timing: the trilogy’s concluding film, Our Fault (Culpa Nuestra), was released on October 16, 2025, so the original “ahead of sequel release” framing is now historical.
Which two movies does the headline mean?
The films are the first two entries in the Culpables trilogy, adapted from Mercedes Ron’s novels:
- My Fault (Culpa Mía) — released June 8, 2023.
- Your Fault (Culpa Tuya) — released December 18, 2024.
Both follow Noah and Nick, whose volatile relationship develops after their families become connected. They are best described as steamy romantic dramas or young-adult romance films with mature themes—not automatically as erotic thrillers.
The third and final film, Our Fault (Culpa Nuestra), arrived on Prime Video on October 16, 2025. The franchise order and dates are summarized in IMDb’s aggregated franchise coverage.

What does “worst-rated” actually mean?
In this context, “worst-rated” refers to reported Rotten Tomatoes critics’ scores, not a universal ranking of every film on Prime Video. Contemporary coverage reported a 0% critics’ score for My Fault and an 18% score for Your Fault. IMDb’s available summary reports those figures, although the review totals behind them are not independently established by the available evidence.
A critics’ score is also not the same thing as:
- an audience score;
- an IMDb user rating;
- a Prime Video viewing ranking;
- social-media visibility; or
- how many people finished or rewatched a film.
A low critics’ score means that the counted critics largely disliked the films according to Rotten Tomatoes’ scoring system. It does not prove that subscribers disliked them equally, or that nobody watched them.
Were they really streaming hits?
There is evidence of substantial audience demand, but the strongest version of the claim needs qualification. My Fault was reported as one of Prime Video’s most-watched non-English original movies in 2023. It was also reported as appearing in a Prime Video Top 10 list in October 2025. That suggests renewed visibility around the period when the trilogy’s finale was available.
However, the available public reporting does not establish a global, simultaneous two-film surge. It does not provide an auditable worldwide chart archive, complete viewing totals, or enough information to confirm the country, exact dates, and methodology behind every Top 10 claim. The reported October 2025 account is therefore best treated as evidence of renewed chart visibility—particularly for My Fault—rather than proof that both films were global hits in every market.
Prime Video Top 10 lists are also geographically and date specific. A film appearing in a national daily list does not automatically mean it ranked worldwide, led its category, or generated a known number of completed views. Availability can differ by country, and a title may be included with Prime, offered through a channel, or available separately to rent or buy.
Why might viewers return before a franchise finale?
The most plausible explanations are about franchise momentum, not critical rehabilitation. They are interpretations rather than verified audience measurements:
Viewers catch up with the story
When a final installment approaches, existing fans may revisit earlier films to remember plot details, while newcomers may watch the first two before starting the finale. A romance built around a continuing couple creates a particularly strong reason to watch in order: viewers want to know whether Noah and Nick remain together, separate, or reconcile.
Controversy creates curiosity
A 0% critics’ score is attention-grabbing. Some viewers may watch because they are curious about a film that has been heavily criticized, while others may approach it as a social or ironic viewing experience. That produces engagement, but engagement is not the same as approval.
Social clips can revive older titles
Trailers, short clips, fan edits, memes, and online discussion can put an older streaming title back in front of potential viewers. Once a film becomes part of a larger conversation about a sequel, new audiences may discover it even if they missed its original release.
Romance audiences often value emotional continuity
Viewers may return for the characters, chemistry, melodrama, or unresolved relationship rather than for the qualities critics emphasized. A film can be an imperfect piece of filmmaking and still satisfy a specific audience looking for heightened romance and familiar franchise drama.

The original article about the alleged resurgence also discussed completion rates, late-night viewing, rewatches, and algorithmic behavior. Those claims were not accompanied by a transparent dataset, platform statement, or third-party methodology, so they should not be presented as established facts.
Why critics’ scores and streaming popularity diverge
Critics and streaming charts measure different things. Critics generally assess writing, acting, direction, editing, production, and thematic execution. A streaming ranking reflects some form of audience usage or popularity signal, but it does not reveal why people watched or whether they enjoyed the experience.
A chart position cannot tell us whether viewers:
- watched the film enthusiastically;
- sampled it briefly;
- watched it with friends;
- returned because a sequel was arriving; or
- watched it precisely because its reputation was controversial.
Nor should Prime Video’s public rankings be treated as a direct measure of artistic quality. It is safer to say that they reflect usage or popularity signals rather than critics’ scores; the precise ranking and recommendation methodology is not fully disclosed in the evidence available here.
This is why “most watched” and “most liked” are different claims. A movie can be highly visible, heavily sampled, and widely discussed without being broadly admired. Conversely, a well-reviewed title may attract a smaller but more satisfied audience.

The original “ahead of sequel release” wording made sense only before October 16, 2025. As of August 2026, Our Fault is not an upcoming sequel; it is the released third and final installment of the original trilogy.

The accurate retrospective is that the first two films showed renewed attention before the finale’s release. Any current article should separately establish what happened after the finale—such as its chart performance, viewing totals, or effect on the franchise’s reputation—before making post-release claims. The available evidence here does not verify those results, so they should not be invented.
