Some links on this page are affiliate links: if you buy through them we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you.
There is no universal winner. Choose Pretty Links when branded short URLs, click tracking, and general link management are your priority. Choose ThirstyAffiliates when affiliate-focused organization—such as Amazon API importing, geographic redirects, CSV tools, or product displays—matches your workflow. Compare the exact current tier, site allowance, renewal price, and redirect rules before buying.
What each plugin is built to do
Both are WordPress link-management plugins marketed to affiliate publishers. Their official feature lists describe different emphases, not independently measured performance.
| Decision area | Pretty Links | ThirstyAffiliates |
|---|---|---|
| Core job | Branded short links, click tracking, and broad link management | Affiliate-link organization and publishing workflows |
| Documented workflow features | Geographic and device targeting, link rotation and expiration, split testing, and advanced redirect types on higher tiers | Automatic keyword linking, Amazon API importing, geographic redirects, CSV import/export, and product displays on listed tiers |
| Plans currently described by the vendor | Beginner, Marketer, and Super Affiliate | Basic, Plus, and Advanced |
| Current site allowances | Check the live plan matrix; the reviewed overview does not establish a fixed allowance for every tier | The pricing page currently lists Basic for one site, Plus for five, and Advanced for ten; limits can change |
| Measured speed, usability, reliability, or conversions | Not established by the cited sources | Not established by the cited sources |
Feature names and plan allocations are vendor claims. They should be treated as a checklist to verify, not as proof that one product is faster, easier, or more profitable.

You want a consistent branded URL system
Pretty Links’ plans overview places core link management, branded short URLs, click tracking, and reporting in Beginner. That makes it a logical starting point for a site that wants readable, reusable links across articles, newsletters, social posts, and other channels. Confirm the current allocation at the official plans overview.
#1 Best Overall
You need targeting, rotation, testing, or expiration
The vendor lists geographic and device targeting, link rotation and expiration, split testing, and advanced redirect types for Marketer and higher tiers. Select the tier only after matching each required control to the live matrix; do not assume these tools are included in Beginner.
You manage redirects beyond affiliate links
A broader link-management workflow can favor Pretty Links when the same system will handle branded redirects, campaign links, and affiliate destinations. The practical test is whether its redirect and reporting options map to your publishing process, not whether the product has a longer feature list.
When ThirstyAffiliates is the better fit
Your work is organized around affiliate links
ThirstyAffiliates foregrounds affiliate-link categorization and publishing workflows. Its site describes tools for organizing and managing affiliate destinations, which can be more relevant than a general short-link system for a large product-review library.

You need Amazon API importing
The official pricing page lists Amazon API importing on its plan feature matrix. If importing is essential, identify the tier that includes it and verify Amazon’s current API, disclosure, and linking requirements separately.
You rely on keyword linking, geographic redirects, CSV, or product displays
ThirstyAffiliates lists automatic keyword linking, geographic redirects, CSV import/export, and product displays among its plan features. These are strong reasons to consider it when they solve a current operational need. They are not reasons to pay for a tier whose other features you will not use.
Match the feature to the plan before comparing prices
Plan pages change, and both vendors show promotional annual pricing that can renew at the normal price. Compare the full cost over the period you expect to keep the plugin, including renewal terms.

Redirects, cloaking, and affiliate-program rules
Pretty Links documents a cloaked redirect as a wrapper page that loads the destination in an iframe while keeping the branded URL visible: Cloak Redirect documentation. That describes the product behavior, not blanket permission from affiliate networks or merchants.
- Read the specific affiliate program’s terms before enabling cloaking.
- Check whether the merchant permits iframe presentation and whether its tracking, consent, or checkout flow still works.
- Test the destination on desktop and mobile, with cookies or consent controls enabled as your audience will use them.
- Use a standard redirect when the program disallows cloaking or the destination behaves incorrectly inside an iframe.
A practical selection process
- List non-negotiables. Write down branded links, click reports, keyword linking, Amazon importing, targeting, rotation, split testing, CSV migration, product displays, and the number of sites you actually need.
- Open both live plan matrices. Mark the lowest tier that explicitly includes every required feature; use “not stated” rather than inferring an inclusion.
- Calculate recurring cost. Record the promotional annual price, normal renewal price, billing period, and site allowance separately.
- Check redirect compliance. Confirm the rules for each affiliate network and merchant before choosing cloaking or another advanced redirect.
- Run one representative workflow. In a trial or available product environment, create a link, categorize it, publish it, inspect the click report, and test the destination on the devices and locations that matter to your site.
- Choose the smallest tier that survives the test. Upgrade only when a documented requirement—not a speculative feature—justifies it.
Important 2026 change to Pretty Links
Pretty Links announced version 4 on July 30, 2026, describing a substantial rebuild of its dashboard, link-creation experience, redirect engine, reporting, and three new add-ons: the vendor’s version 4 announcement. Because the release is recent, check the current documentation, compatibility notes, and plan pages rather than relying on older tutorials or screenshots.

Bottom line for common site types
New or single-site publisher
Start with the product whose entry tier covers your actual essentials. Pretty Links is the natural first comparison if branded URLs and click tracking are central; ThirstyAffiliates is the natural first comparison if affiliate categorization or Amazon importing is central.
Amazon-focused site
Shortlist ThirstyAffiliates if its current tier includes the Amazon API importing and product-display workflow you need. Verify Amazon’s current program rules independently.

Compare site allowances before comparing feature counts. ThirstyAffiliates currently lists one, five, and ten-site options across Basic, Plus, and Advanced, while Pretty Links’ limits should be checked on its live pricing page.
Campaign-heavy publisher
Shortlist Pretty Links when targeting, rotation, expiration, split testing, or advanced redirects are documented in the tier you can afford. Confirm each control before checkout.
The Bottom Line
Choose by workflow, not reputation: Pretty Links leans toward branded short links and general management; ThirstyAffiliates leans toward affiliate-specific organization and importing. Verify the live tier matrix, site limits, renewal cost, and affiliate-program redirect rules before committing.
