The Poco F6 Pro is still a fast, sharply discounted phone for gaming and everyday power use, but it is no longer an automatic bargain. In the UK, Xiaomi’s store has listed the 12GB/512GB model at £279, compared with £399 for the newer Poco F7 Pro with 12GB/256GB. At that gap, the F6 Pro makes sense if you value performance, a high-resolution screen and extra storage more than newer hardware and a longer runway of support. If prices are close, buy newer; if cameras or dependable long-term updates top your list, look elsewhere.

Is the Poco F6 Pro worth buying in 2026?
Yes, if the price is low enough and you want a performance-first Android phone. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, fast UFS 4.0 storage, vivid high-resolution display and very rapid wired charging remain useful strengths. But the F6 Pro launched in 2024, and its age matters more now: newer phones offer a fresher support window, while this model’s secondary cameras and software are less compelling than its headline hardware.

A larger saving—around 30–40%—makes the older model easier to recommend if gaming and storage are your priorities. These are relative guideposts, not universal price limits: taxes, warranty, storage configuration and local stock affect value. Xiaomi UK’s store has shown the F6 Pro 12GB/512GB at £279 and the F7 Pro 12GB/256GB at £399; those are regional listings, not guaranteed prices elsewhere. Check the current UK Poco store listing.

At £279, the UK F6 Pro listing offers twice the stated storage of the F7 Pro listing, but that does not make the models equivalent. The F7 Pro is newer; the F6 Pro is cheaper and more capacious. If the newer model’s price is only modestly higher in your market, the longer remaining useful life may be worth paying for.
Clearance stock deserves a closer check than a normal current-generation purchase. Confirm whether the device is new, refurbished or imported; who handles the warranty and returns; which regional ROM is installed; and whether the seller supplies the correct charger. Old stock can also mean a battery that has spent longer in storage. For an imported phone, verify your carrier’s LTE/5G bands and VoLTE support, plus Google certification, NFC availability and local service options. An attractive sticker price can disappear once shipping, taxes or a difficult return are factored in.
Performance and gaming
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 was a high-end processor at launch and still makes the F6 Pro feel quick in ordinary use. App launches, multitasking and demanding games are a natural fit, helped by LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 storage. Buyers who keep large games installed will also value the 512GB option—provided the price premium over 256GB is sensible.

Poco advertises a vapor-liquid cooling system with a vapor-liquid separation and one-way circulation design. That is a manufacturer description of the cooling hardware, not proof that the phone sustains peak performance indefinitely. Long gaming sessions produce more heat than short benchmark runs, and heat can lead to reduced performance. Expect strong capability, but do not treat a flagship-tier chip or a benchmark score as a guarantee of constant maximum frame rates in every game.
The cheaper Poco F6 may be enough if you play moderately demanding titles or care more about price than the Pro’s sharper display and chipset advantage. The X7 Pro is another value-oriented option for someone who wants a newer, less expensive model and does not need the F6 Pro’s particular mix of WQHD+ resolution and older flagship-class processing. Your games, settings and session length matter more than the “Pro” label.
A stand-out screen—with a peak-brightness caveat
The 6.67-inch Flow AMOLED panel is one of the F6 Pro’s strongest everyday features. Its 3200 × 1440 resolution gives text and fine detail extra crispness, and 120Hz makes supported scrolling and games look smoother than a standard 60Hz screen. The panel also supports 12-bit colour, Dolby Vision and HDR10+.

Xiaomi quotes up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness. That is a peak figure under particular conditions, not a claim that the entire display stays at that brightness in routine use. Nor does a 120Hz panel mean that every app or game renders at 120 frames per second or at the screen’s full resolution. Actual refresh rate and rendering depend on the software and content.

If battery life matters more than fine detail, check the display settings and consider a lower resolution or refresh rate where available. The screen’s high-resolution, high-refresh combination is a genuine advantage; it is not a free battery upgrade.
Cameras: one capable main sensor, two modest extras
The 50MP main camera uses a Light Fusion 800 sensor and optical image stabilization (OIS). OIS can steady handheld shots and help limit blur from small movements, particularly in lower light. It does not, by itself, guarantee flagship-level image quality. Exposure, HDR, colour, night processing and video stabilization are best judged with sample comparisons; a megapixel count cannot answer those questions.
The 8MP ultrawide is a less ambitious companion, while the 2MP macro camera is not a compelling reason to buy the phone. There is no dedicated telephoto lens, so zoom beyond the main camera’s normal view relies on cropping rather than optical magnification. That makes the F6 Pro a less versatile choice for travel, distant subjects or anyone who wants consistently strong results from every rear camera.
Xiaomi lists rear video recording up to 8K at 24fps and 4K at up to 60fps. Those format limits do not establish how stable or good-looking footage will be in practice. Front-camera specifications and video limits may differ by market, so check the listing for the exact regional model before purchase.

Battery endurance and charging are different strengths
The F6 Pro has a 5,000mAh typical-capacity battery and supports 120W wired HyperCharge. Xiaomi claims a full charge in about 19 minutes under specified lab conditions, including with the screen off and the relevant boost-charging option enabled. That is a manufacturer test figure, not a time every owner should expect: temperature, starting charge, settings, charger, cable and region can all change the result. Fast top-ups are a real convenience, but they do not mean the phone lasts longer between charges. Reviews differ on battery endurance; demanding gaming, high brightness, cellular reception, camera recording and a high-refresh-rate display can all make a day harder to get through. There is no single screen-on-time figure here that applies to every user or test method. If reliable all-day endurance under heavy use is essential, compare independent testing and consider newer alternatives before buying.
If fast charging does not appear to engage, first use the supplied or manufacturer-compatible charger and cable, check the charging-speed boost setting if present, let the phone cool, and try another outlet. Confirm the seller supplied the correct regional charger and inspect the USB-C port and cable. Stop using a damaged cable or port; repeated disconnections are a reason to seek warranty service, not to keep forcing the connection.
HyperOS and the unresolved support question
The F6 Pro launched with Android 14 and Xiaomi HyperOS. HyperOS offers customization and gaming tools, but the ownership experience may include preinstalled apps and recommendation or promotional content in system utilities. That can feel cluttered beside a cleaner Android interface. The exact software experience and update timing can vary by region and ROM.
Xiaomi’s security policy says smartphone security updates are generally maintained for at least two years after first shipment, with some devices receiving three years or more; the company also says timing varies by model and region. The F6 Pro appears in Xiaomi’s HyperOS rollout material, but a rollout listing is not a promise of a fixed number of Android-version upgrades or a specific security-patch end date. Xiaomi’s public material cited here does not establish a definitive F6 Pro end-of-support date, so do not buy on the assumption that a particular Android version is guaranteed. Check the Xiaomi Security Center and regional support information if update longevity is a deciding factor.
Imported devices add more uncertainty. A different region’s ROM may have a different update channel or timing, and changing software or unlocking the bootloader can affect banking apps, DRM and support. Treat an import as a separate buying decision, not simply a cheaper version of the same local retail phone.

At 209g and 8.21mm thick, the F6 Pro is a substantial phone. Its 6.67-inch screen is excellent for games and video but makes one-handed use difficult for many people. It has stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, an in-display fingerprint reader and an IR blaster. NFC and connectivity details can vary by market.

Do not assume water resistance without a confirmed rating for the exact regional model. Nor should you assume every box contains a charger: Xiaomi says package contents vary by country, and some markets may not include a power adapter. Verify the local specification sheet and box contents before checkout. There is no microSD card slot and no wireless charging, so neither can be added later.
The phone supports dual nano-SIM and a range of cellular bands; listed Wi-Fi capability and 5G operation also depend on regional hardware, networks and operators. eSIM support is not established by the specifications cited here. If you rely on a particular carrier, eSIM, VoLTE, NFC payment or Wi-Fi generation, confirm that feature with the seller and your carrier rather than inferring it from a listing for another country.
Choose storage before you buy
The F6 Pro uses UFS 4.0 storage but cannot expand it with a microSD card. Xiaomi confirms that storage cannot be supplemented with a microSD card or external hard drive; its Memory Extension feature uses internal storage as virtual RAM, which is not a substitute for physical memory. For ordinary app use, 256GB may be sufficient, particularly if it is much cheaper. Large games, offline video, photos and 4K recordings can fill it quickly, so 512GB is the safer long-term choice for storage-heavy users. Compare the actual price gap before choosing; capacity you cannot add later is more useful than virtual RAM marketing.

Prices and promotions are market- and date-specific. Xiaomi Italy, for example, listed the X7 Pro 12GB/512GB at €329.90 during a 2026 promotion; that is not a standing price or a direct comparison for other countries. Check local offers and warranty terms before deciding.

- Skip it if you need wireless charging, expandable storage or a compact phone: It does not offer the first two, and its size and weight are considerable.
