The Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 is an 11-nanometre, 4G-only entry-level platform introduced in 2020. Known phones include the OPPO A53 family, Realme C15 and C17, OnePlus Nord N100, Vivo Y20 series, Motorola Moto E7 Plus and Moto G10 models, Moto G Play (2021), Nokia 3.4, TCL 20 SE, Lenovo K13 Note, Lenovo Lemon K12, AT&T Maestro Plus and Cricket Influence LTE-A. Nearly all are now discontinued and encountered as used or refurbished devices. Exact names, memory, cameras and LTE bands vary by country, so verify the model number rather than relying on a marketplace title.
What the Snapdragon 460 is
Snapdragon 460 is part of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4-series and was designed for inexpensive Android phones. Qualcomm lists an octa-core Kryo 240 CPU running at up to about 1.8 GHz, an Adreno 610 GPU, Bluetooth 5.1, dual-band Wi-Fi, LPDDR3 or LPDDR4X memory options and VP9 playback support. It has 4G LTE connectivity and no integrated 5G modem. These are platform capabilities; each manufacturer chooses the phone’s RAM, storage, cameras, display, charging system and LTE-band configuration.

Best-known models by use case
Best documented US option: Moto G Play (2021)
Motorola’s US specification page identifies the Snapdragon 460, 3 GB RAM, 32 GB storage, 6.5-inch 1,600 × 720 display, 5,000 mAh battery, 10-W charging, microSD support up to 512 GB, 13-MP main camera, 5-MP selfie camera and a 3.5-mm headphone jack. It also lists the US LTE bands. NFC is absent on that specification. This makes it relatively easy to check for US compatibility, but the 3 GB/32 GB configuration is restrictive in 2026. See Motorola’s Moto G Play (2021) specifications.
Best display and charging mix: OnePlus Nord N100
The Nord N100 combines a 6.52-inch HD+ LCD with a 90-Hz refresh rate, 4 GB LPDDR4X RAM, 64 GB UFS 2.1 storage, a 5,000 mAh battery, 18-W charging, USB-C, microSD expansion and stereo-speaker positioning. Its 90-Hz panel makes scrolling feel smoother, but does not turn the entry-level chipset into a modern gaming platform. OnePlus lists the launch software as Android 10/OxygenOS. Specifications: OnePlus Nord N100.

Best Nokia choice: Nokia 3.4
The Nokia 3.4 offers a 6.39-inch HD+ punch-hole display, USB-C, a 3.5-mm jack, microSD expansion, multiple LTE bands and Android One positioning at launch. Its datasheet confirms the Snapdragon 460 reference and hardware details: Nokia 3.4 datasheet.

Battery-oriented alternatives
Moto E7 Plus, Moto G10 Power, OPPO A53, Vivo Y20 and Realme C15 commonly pair the chipset with 5,000 mAh-class batteries. Capacity is not a standardized runtime test, and a several-year-old battery may have lost substantial capacity. Compare the actual condition, charging behavior, display resolution and software rather than declaring one the longest-lasting.
Performance, display and storage in 2026
Everyday tasks
For calls, messaging, email, ordinary web pages, social media, navigation and video streaming, a healthy Snapdragon 460 phone remains usable. Light games can run, but modern 3D games, heavy multitasking and advanced camera processing expose its age. App loading depends heavily on RAM, storage speed, thermal condition, battery health and background software, so old benchmark numbers are not a reliable promise for a used handset.

Displays
Most models use HD+ LCD panels. The Nord N100 and selected OPPO or Realme variants offer 90 Hz. Higher refresh rate improves scrolling response; it does not provide the graphics performance required by demanding games.
RAM and storage
Prefer at least 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. A 3 GB/32 GB phone can fill quickly after Android updates and app growth. Where the manufacturer specifies it, UFS storage is preferable to slower eMMC. A microSD slot helps with media but cannot fully replace internal storage for apps.
Network and regional compatibility
The chipset name does not guarantee service on a particular carrier. LTE bands, VoLTE certification, SIM configuration and unlock status vary by model and country. Motorola’s US Moto G Play (2021) band list must not be applied to an international Moto G10 or Moto E7 Plus. Before buying, check:

- Blacklist status and IMEI eligibility.
Never describe a Snapdragon 460 handset as 5G. For comparison, Motorola’s current naming shows why the year matters: the 2021 Moto G Play uses Snapdragon 460, the 2024 model uses Snapdragon 680, and the 2026 model uses MediaTek Dimensity 6300. See the 2024 specifications and 2026 product page.
Software and condition risks
These phones launched around 2020 or 2021, commonly with Android 10 or a nearby generation. Do not assume current security patches or a supported Android release; check the installed security-patch date and the manufacturer’s live support information. In 2026, age-related risks include degraded or swollen batteries, screen burn-in, worn USB-C ports, missing chargers, unavailable parts and failed updates.
A Snapdragon 460 phone can make sense as a temporary replacement, child’s basic handset, secondary navigation or streaming device, or emergency phone when it is inexpensive, unlocked, compatible and returnable. It is a poor choice for security-sensitive banking without verified updates, long-term ownership, 5G, demanding photography or a buyer paying close to the price of a newer entry-level phone.
How to verify a marketplace listing
- Read the exact model number from the seller’s photographs or settings screen.
- Confirm that the specification names Snapdragon 460, not Snapdragon 450, 662, 680 or a 4 Gen-series chip.
- Match RAM and storage to the advertised variant.
- Check regional LTE bands, VoLTE and carrier whitelist status.
- Confirm unlocked or locked status and check the IMEI for blacklist problems.
- Record the Android version and security-patch date.
- Ask for battery-health information, normal charging and a return period.
- Ensure the listing is the correct model year; “Moto G Play” alone is not specific enough.
Commonly confused models and chips
Snapdragon 450, 662 and 680 phones are not Snapdragon 460 phones, and “Qualcomm octa-core” is not a processor identification. A seller may also copy a specification from another model, use a generic image, call a 4G device 5G, or describe an imported variant as the US version. After purchase, verify the chipset in the phone’s system information or with a reputable hardware-identification utility.
2026 buying verdict
Buy a Snapdragon 460 phone only when the discount is substantial, the exact regional model is confirmed, the carrier accepts it, the battery and ports are healthy, and you have no need for 5G or long software support. Prefer a newer entry-level phone with a recent processor, Android 13 or later, current security patches, 64 GB or 128 GB storage and a warranty whenever the price gap is small. Launch prices from 2020 are no longer meaningful; used pricing depends on country, condition, storage, lock status, warranty and seller, so verify those factors at the time of purchase.
