The PCCOOLER RZ620M-X is a genuine compact dual-tower CPU air cooler designed for cases that cannot fit conventional 150–160mm towers. Its 104 × 94 × 118.5mm body, six 6mm heat pipes and central 100mm PWM fan make it attractive for ITX and compact mATX systems. The trade-off is noise: independent testing found good temperatures on a Ryzen 9 9900X, but roughly 56dB under sustained stress.

- Consider carefully if: You prioritize silence or sustained workstation performance.

The RZ620M-X is not a true low-profile cooler. It is better described as a short dual-tower cooler: taller than most horizontal or low-profile designs, but substantially shorter than ordinary tower coolers.
Design and construction
The cooler uses two aluminum fin stacks connected by six 6mm heat pipes. Those pipes carry heat from the nickel-plated copper base into both towers, while a centrally mounted 100mm fan pushes air through the fins. A top cover adds an ARGB-lit accent, and black and white versions have been reported.
The compact layout appears to be derived from PCCOOLER’s larger RZ620 family, but it should not be treated as full-size RZ620 performance in a smaller body. The full-size RZ620 is listed at 157.5mm tall and uses a 120mm fan, while the RZ620M-X is limited to a smaller 100mm fan and a much smaller overall volume. Why the 118.5mm height matters
Height is the reason to buy this cooler. A 118.5mm limit excludes most conventional tower coolers but accommodates the RZ620M-X in many compact cases. That does not mean it fits every ITX enclosure: motherboard size and CPU-cooler clearance are separate specifications.

Account for the side-panel bulge, dust filter, panel tolerances, fan clips and top cover rather than relying on a nominal measurement that is exactly 118.5mm.

Also check the cooler’s 104 × 94mm footprint against the motherboard. VRM heatsinks, rear-I/O covers and nearby board components can create conflicts even when the case height is sufficient.
Memory and motherboard clearance
The central fan position leaves the DIMM area unusually open. TweakTown reported that all four memory slots remained usable in its test setup, including with tall memory modules. That is a strong advantage over front-mounted tower coolers whose fan often overlaps the nearest DIMM slot.
RAM-slot clearance is not the same as universal motherboard compatibility. Confirm the height and position of the board’s VRM heatsinks, I/O shroud and socket surroundings. PCIe and graphics-card clearance is generally less concerning than with oversized front-mounted towers, but it remains layout-dependent.

Installation
Installation requires removing the fan and top-cover assembly so the mounting hardware can be accessed. The reviewer described the process as straightforward and reported that mounting hardware and thermal paste were included.

- Confirm the socket, case height and motherboard clearances.
- Remove the top cover and fan assembly.
- Install the correct Intel or AMD backplate and brackets.
- Apply thermal paste and position the cooler.
- Tighten the mounting screws gradually, alternating sides.
- Reinstall the fan and top cover.
- Connect the fan to a 4-pin PWM header.
- Connect ARGB only to a compatible 5V 3-pin ARGB header.
- Set an appropriate fan curve in the BIOS or motherboard software.
Do not connect the lighting cable to a 12V 4-pin RGB header. The exact bracket arrangement can vary by revision, so use the current downloadable manual for the supplied kit.
Cooling performance
TweakTown tested the cooler with an AMD Ryzen 9 9900X on an ASUS ROG STRIX X870E-E Gaming Wi-Fi motherboard. Its reported results were:

These are useful results, but they are not universal CPU-temperature guarantees. Ambient temperature, thermal paste, motherboard power limits, boost behavior, fan curves and case airflow all matter. The test used a large be quiet! Light Base 900 DX case rather than an especially restricted SFF enclosure, so a cramped case may produce different results.

Treat that as a vendor-style claim, not a standardized rating that can be directly compared with every Intel or AMD processor. CPU suitability depends more reliably on sustained package power, airflow and the motherboard’s default power behavior.

Noise: the main compromise
The manufacturer’s rated fan-noise range reaches 32.5dB(A), but TweakTown measured approximately 56dB under stress, with the fan averaging about 2,430RPM and occasionally exceeding 2,900RPM. Those figures were obtained under different conditions, so the measured result is more relevant to buyers concerned about worst-case system noise.
At idle, the review measured roughly 32dB and the cooler may be unobtrusive. Under sustained rendering, compiling or other all-core workloads, however, the 100mm fan may need to run near its 3,000RPM ceiling. Gaming noise will depend on CPU utilization, GPU noise and the chosen fan curve.
The fan’s 100mm × 25mm size is also less convenient to replace than a standard 120mm fan. Replacement is possible only if the dimensions, mounting method, connector and static-pressure characteristics are suitable; do not assume any 100mm case fan is an equivalent substitute.
CPU suitability
The RZ620M-X is a sensible match for:
- Mainstream Ryzen 5 and Core i5 processors.
- Efficient Ryzen 7 and Core i7 systems.
- Gaming systems with limited sustained all-core CPU load.
- Compact builds where a larger cooler physically cannot fit.
Use caution with unrestricted high-power Core i7 and Core i9 systems, Ryzen 9 processors running prolonged workloads, manual overclocking and aggressive PBO or boost settings. In those cases, a larger air cooler or a supported 240mm/280mm liquid cooler is generally a better direction, provided the case supports it.

Orientation and airflow
Launch material described horizontal and vertical mounting as supported and claimed that performance is unaffected by orientation. That should be treated as a manufacturer claim rather than an independently verified result for every case.
In practice, case airflow matters more than the label on the cooler’s orientation. Make sure intake air can reach the fan and that heated air has a clear exhaust path. A nominally compatible cooler can still perform poorly inside a sealed or poorly ventilated enclosure.
Alternatives by requirement
- More silence: Choose a larger 120mm or 140mm tower if the case supports roughly 150mm or more of clearance. Larger fans can often deliver the required airflow at lower rotational speed.
- Less than 118.5mm of clearance: Use a true low-profile cooler, accepting that thermal capacity may be lower.
- Heavy sustained CPU workloads: Consider a larger dual-tower cooler or a 240mm/280mm liquid cooler if the chassis supports a radiator and you accept pump complexity.
- Same compact approach: Compare other compact dual-tower or 92/100mm-fan designs using case fit, measured noise and replacement-fan availability rather than heat-pipe count alone.
- More room in the same PCCOOLER family: The full-size RZ620 uses a 120mm fan and is 157.5mm tall, so it is relevant only when the case has substantially more clearance.
Who should buy the RZ620M-X?
Choose it when your case allows approximately 119mm of cooler height but rejects ordinary towers, when tall-memory clearance matters, and when you prefer air cooling over a low-profile design. It is especially compelling for mainstream or efficiently configured CPUs in compact systems, provided you are willing to tune the fan curve.

Do not buy it on the assumption that a reported 210W rating guarantees flagship-CPU performance.
Purchase checklist
- Confirm at least 118.5mm of CPU-cooler clearance, preferably with a margin.
- Check the 104 × 94mm footprint against VRM heatsinks and the I/O shroud.
- Verify support for the exact motherboard socket.
- Check whether the board has a 5V 3-pin ARGB header if lighting is required.
- Match the cooler to the CPU’s sustained power limits, not only its model name.
- Confirm local warranty coverage and replacement-fan availability.
- Verify the listing is for the RZ620M-X, not the taller RZ620.
Verdict
The PCCOOLER RZ620M-X is a well-targeted solution to a real compact-build problem. Its 118.5mm height, six heat pipes and open DIMM layout offer substantially more flexibility than many true low-profile coolers, while its reported Ryzen 9 9900X results show that the design can handle serious loads.
Its limitation is equally clear: the single 100mm fan can become loud when the CPU is pushed. Buy the RZ620M-X for its exceptional fitment and reasonable reviewed MSRP—not as a universal replacement for a larger, quieter tower cooler.
