For most buyers who want a compact phone, the OPPO Reno15 Pro Mini is the better value. It shares the Pro’s Dimensity 8450 processor and headline camera setup, while costing ₹8,000 less at launch in each storage tier. The Reno15 Pro earns its premium mainly with a much larger LTPO display, a larger battery, 50W wireless charging and tougher front glass—not a clearly superior camera or processor.
One price correction: OPPO’s Indian launch prices showed an ₹8,000 gap, not ₹7,000. A ₹7,000 difference may reflect a later retailer offer or bank discount, so compare the final price for the same storage configuration.
Launch prices: the official gap was ₹8,000
OPPO announced the Reno15 series in India on January 8, 2026, with sales starting January 13. Its launch prices were:

These are launch prices, not a live quote. Retailer discounts, bank offers, exchange bonuses and coupons can change the amount you actually pay. Compare like with like—256GB against 256GB, or 512GB against 512GB—and use the final payable price. OPPO India’s launch announcement is the source for the launch pricing and dates.

Is the Pro Mini really a weaker phone?
Not in the usual sense of “Mini” meaning a cut-down budget model. The two share the Dimensity 8450 platform, 12GB RAM configurations, and the same headline rear and front camera arrangement. OPPO also claims 4K HDR recording up to 60fps across the front, main, ultrawide and telephoto cameras, alongside 80W SUPERVOOC wired charging. The Mini keeps the core performance and camera proposition while changing the screen, battery and charging options.
That does not make the phones identical. The Pro’s larger body, LTPO panel, bigger battery and wireless charging are real hardware differences. Nor does shared camera hardware prove identical photographs: image processing, firmware, lens variation, heat and shooting conditions can affect results. There is no basis here to promise that portraits, skin tones or video will match shot for shot.

A larger, higher-resolution LTPO display
The Pro’s 6.78-inch panel is the clearest upgrade for people who watch video, play games, edit photos or use split-screen apps. Its listed resolution is 2772 × 1272, at 450ppi, and it uses LTPO technology with a dynamic refresh rate. OPPO lists a typical HBM brightness figure of 1,800 nits. These are specifications, not a guarantee of visibility in every outdoor condition.

The Mini’s 6.32-inch LTPS OLED is smaller and easier to manage one-handed. It still offers 120Hz adaptive refresh and HDR10+ support. LTPO can vary refresh rates dynamically and may help efficiency, but it does not automatically make a display better in every respect; the Mini’s smaller size is an advantage if reachability and pocketability matter more than screen area.
Wireless charging and 300mAh more capacity
The Pro has a 6,500mAh battery against the Mini’s 6,200mAh—a capacity difference of about 4.8%. That is a modest paper advantage, not evidence of a dramatic endurance lead. Both list 80W wired charging, while the Pro adds 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging. OPPO’s cited Indian Mini page lists wired charging but does not list wireless charging, so do not assume the Mini supports it.
OPPO says its Mini laboratory testing produced up to 2.36 days of use, about 53 minutes to charge from 1% to 100%, and up to 4.3 hours of video streaming from a 10-minute charge. Treat these as OPPO’s results under its stated methodology, not independent battery-test findings or a promise of your own runtime. The Mini page includes its battery and test disclosures.

Tougher listed front glass, but not drop-proofing
OPPO lists Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for the Pro and Gorilla Glass 7i for the Mini, with AGC DT-STAR D+ also appearing in the Mini launch specification. That gives the Pro a higher-tier named cover glass, but glass branding cannot promise a phone will survive a particular drop. A case and screen protector remain sensible precautions for either model.

Camera comparison: same headline setup, not proven identical output
On paper, camera hardware is unusually close for two differently sized models in this price range. Both are specified with a 200MP main camera using Samsung HP5 sensor branding and optical image stabilisation, a 50MP 3.5x telephoto portrait camera, a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP front camera with an approximately 100-degree field of view. OPPO also describes 4K HDR video up to 60fps across the camera system. Its camera announcement sets out the series’ camera positioning.
That means the Pro’s ₹8,000 premium is not buying a higher-resolution rear camera or an extra telephoto lens. The 3.5x camera is potentially useful for portraits and subjects beyond arm’s length, while the ultrawide gives you a wider framing option. A 200MP sensor can provide cropping flexibility, but the headline number alone does not establish that every shot is captured or saved at full resolution; OPPO says full-resolution output requires Hi-Res mode. Everyday output also depends on processing and light.
There is no controlled comparison here to establish which phone handles skin tones, low light, motion, long 4K sessions or heat better. OPPO notes that some promotional samples were taken with other Reno15 models and that results vary with conditions. Likewise, claims about AI camera features should be checked on the Indian handset and its installed software: availability, languages, internet requirements and release timing can vary by region and update.
Performance and gaming: same chip, sustained results still matter
Both phones use the Dimensity 8450, so the Pro is not an upgrade to a higher-tier processor. OPPO promotes a 4nm platform and performance gains over the previous generation, but those are vendor claims, not independent benchmark results. The Mini’s smaller enclosure could have less room to dissipate heat, while the Pro’s larger body may offer more thermal headroom; neither point proves better sustained performance without comparable testing.

For gaming, pay attention to frame-rate stability and surface temperature after 20–30 minutes, not just a peak benchmark or a short demo. OPPO’s claim of 120fps for three hours is tied to particular games and test conditions in its footnotes, not a universal guarantee for every game, graphics setting or ambient temperature. The same applies to long 4K recording: check real-world heat and recording stability if that is a central use.
Which one should you buy?
- Choose the Reno15 Pro Mini if compact size, one-handed reach and easier pocket carry are priorities. It gives you the same processor and headline camera configuration for less, and its 6,200mAh battery is substantial for a 6.32-inch phone. It is the more sensible pick if wireless charging and a large display are not important to you.
- Choose the Reno15 Pro if you genuinely want a large screen for video, gaming or editing; want the LTPO panel; use wireless charging; value the extra battery capacity; or prefer its listed Victus 2 cover glass. Those are the meaningful reasons for paying more.
- Consider neither if maximum gaming performance is your top requirement, if you need microSD expansion, or if the current street price puts either phone close to a newer or substantially faster alternative. Check the exact Indian SKU before buying if NFC, eSIM or another specific connectivity feature is essential; the cited OPPO pages do not clearly confirm every such detail.
When comparing offers, verify the seller and the final payable amount, including bank eligibility, exchange value and bundled accessories. OPPO’s displayed Price Promise terms describe a seven-day claim window and compensation capped at ₹3,000 as an OPPO store coupon, subject to eligible purchases and exclusions. Read the current terms rather than treating that policy as a guaranteed discount.
Verdict
The Reno15 Pro Mini is not a substantially weaker camera phone; it is the compact version with the same core chip and headline camera system, a smaller LTPS screen, a slightly smaller battery and no wireless charging listed on OPPO India’s cited page. For compact-phone shoppers, that combination makes it the better value at the official ₹8,000 launch-price difference. Pay extra for the Pro when you will use its large LTPO screen or wireless charging—not just because “Pro” sounds like it must take better photos.
