The OnePlus 13T has two rear cameras: a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization and a 50MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom. OnePlus lists no ultrawide camera. Its official product page also shows manufacturer-selected sample shots, which illustrate the company’s intended look but are not an independent test of image quality.
OnePlus 13T camera specifications
OnePlus’ official China specification page lists this camera hardware:

The 13T is therefore a dual-camera phone at the rear, not a three-camera model. The official specification page lists the main and telephoto cameras, along with a single-temperature LED flash and flicker sensor; it does not list an ultrawide lens.
2x optical, 4x lossless and 20x digital zoom
The telephoto camera’s 2x optical zoom is its native magnified perspective relative to the main camera. It gives the phone a dedicated portrait and short-telephoto view, rather than relying entirely on a crop from the main camera. It is not the longer reach offered by 3x, 4x or 5x telephoto systems.

OnePlus separately advertises up to 4x “lossless” zoom and lists up to 20x digital zoom. The specifications page does not explain precisely how the 4x result is produced. It may involve the 50MP telephoto camera, cropping and computational processing, but the claim should not be read as 4x optical zoom or as a guarantee of detail equivalent to a native 4x lens. Independent testing would be needed to establish its real-world performance.
The page also lists JPG, HEIF and RAW still-image formats for the rear cameras. RAW gives compatible editing workflows more latitude, but its availability alone does not establish image quality.
What OnePlus shared before launch—and what changed
On April 18, 2025, pre-launch coverage reported OnePlus’ announcement of two 50MP rear cameras, including a 2x telephoto, alongside official camera samples. At that stage, the selfie-camera resolution had not been disclosed. The phone launched in China on April 24, 2025; the later official specifications page lists a 16MP fixed-focus front camera. That final listing takes precedence over early speculation, including reports suggesting 32MP.
OnePlus’ China product page presents sample images and promotes portrait photography, telephoto framing, color and contrast, fine detail, film-style looks and motion-oriented “shadowless capture” positioning. Some displayed samples include shooting information such as ISO, focal length, aperture and shutter speed. These are official promotional samples, not controlled review results.

The samples show the kind of rendering and portrait workflow OnePlus chose to showcase. They cannot establish how consistently the phone handles night scenes, difficult backlighting, skin tones across different conditions, autofocus, video stabilization, or detail at 4x and 20x. Nor do selected examples establish an overall camera ranking. Without independently verified original files and a controlled comparison, metadata shown with a sample should be treated as product-page information, not proof of a complete camera test.
The main trade-off: no ultrawide camera
The missing ultrawide lens is likely to matter more to some buyers than the difference between 2x and 3x zoom. An ultrawide is useful when you cannot step back: for interiors, architecture, broad landscapes and large groups in tight spaces. The 13T’s main and telephoto cameras cover standard and closer perspectives, but they do not replace that wide-angle option.
The 2x camera makes the 13T more appealing for portraits and short-range subject framing than a phone with only a main camera. But buyers who regularly switch among ultrawide, standard and longer telephoto views should consider a model with all three perspectives.
Sensor-name reports are inconsistent
Some third-party reports have identified the main sensor as Sony IMX906, while others have called it Sony LYT700. OnePlus’ published specification page confirms the camera’s resolution, aperture, focal length, autofocus and stabilization, but does not name the sensor. The exact sensor designation is therefore unconfirmed by the cited official specifications; neither reported name should be treated as settled fact.

Availability and who should consider it
The confirmed launch covered here was in China on April 24, 2025. IT Home reported a Chinese starting price of ¥3,399 and a ¥2,899 government-subsidy price for eligible buyers. The subsidy is conditional, and those launch figures are not current international prices. The cited sources do not establish broad global availability.
For buyers outside China, an imported handset may raise questions about software localization, Google services, supported network bands, warranty coverage and returns. Confirm those details with the seller and carrier before buying; a China-market listing should not be assumed equivalent to an officially sold local model.
The 13T’s camera setup is best suited to someone who wants a compact phone and mainly shoots at the main and 2x views, especially portraits. It is a weaker fit for travelers who rely on ultrawide shots, users seeking long-range zoom, or selfie shooters who need front-camera autofocus. OnePlus’ official samples are useful for understanding its marketing emphasis, but they are not a substitute for independent camera testing.
