In June 2024, OnePlus released OxygenOS 14.0.0.800 for the OnePlus 11 with fixes for two specific problems: an app icon shifting slightly on the Home screen after an app was closed, and potentially low volume from the phone speaker or Bluetooth earphones. The update also included the May 2024 Android security patch and general stability improvements. The “Buds” in the original headline appears to be a typo for “bugs”: OnePlus did not identify a fix specifically for OnePlus Buds.
What OxygenOS 14.0.0.800 changed
OnePlus’ official changelog describes two user-facing fixes:
- Home-screen icon displacement: An app icon could move slightly from its intended position after closing the app. This is a specific icon-placement issue, not a promise to fix every Home-screen, widget, launcher, or animation problem.
- Low speaker and Bluetooth-earbud volume: The update addresses an issue that could make output from the phone speaker or Bluetooth earphones too quiet. OnePlus did not claim higher maximum volume for every headset, better sound fidelity, new codec support, improved Bluetooth range, or fewer connection drops.
“Improves audio over Bluetooth” is therefore broader than the documented change. The supported claim is that OnePlus fixed a possible low-volume problem. The announcement provides no independent before-and-after loudness measurements.

The update was OxygenOS 14.0.0.800, with the EX01 suffix. OnePlus listed these regional build identifiers:

OnePlus announced the update on June 11, 2024, and said it would roll out incrementally, starting with a small group before expanding. A June 12 report initially described availability as India-only, but the official announcement listed builds for India, Europe/global, and North America. That does not mean every device received the OTA at once: firmware identifiers and timing varied by region and rollout batch.
Alongside the bug fixes, the release included the May 2024 Android security patch and general system-stability improvements. That patch level is historical; installing this release does not mean a OnePlus 11 is current on security updates in 2026.

How to check for the update
On the OxygenOS 14 interface, open Settings > About device and use the system-update control to check for an OTA. The reported path was Settings > About Device > OxygenOS > Check for Update, but wording and placement can vary by region and software revision.
If the update does not appear, that alone does not indicate a fault. Confirm the phone’s current software version and regional model/build, connect to Wi-Fi, ensure the battery is adequately charged, restart the phone, and check again. A staged release may not have reached a particular device yet. If the phone already runs a later OxygenOS version, consult that version’s changelog rather than trying to install this older release. Avoid installing firmware intended for another region unless you have a verified, model-specific procedure and understand the risks.

How to check whether the fixes helped
- Close an app from Recents and return to the Home screen several times. Check whether the same icon shifts from its intended position.
- Play audio through the phone speaker at a consistent media-volume setting, then test a Bluetooth earbud or headset separately.
- Disconnect and reconnect the Bluetooth device before comparing output. If possible, test another headset to distinguish a phone-wide issue from an accessory-specific one.
- Check the accessory’s own volume and companion app, and test music, video, and a voice call separately.
- In Settings > Bluetooth, inspect the paired-device controls. The OnePlus 11 manual documents a Device volume sync setting; check its state if phone and accessory volumes seem out of sync.
These checks can help isolate a symptom, but they are not laboratory measurements and do not establish a particular volume increase.
If Bluetooth volume is still low
Raise media volume on the phone and, where supported, volume on the headset itself. Disconnect and re-pair the accessory, check its companion app for volume limits, and compare with another Bluetooth device. If only one headset is affected, investigate its settings or support resources; if multiple devices remain unusually quiet, note the phone’s build and report the issue to OnePlus. The update announcement listed *#800# for bug reporting in India; outside India it directed users to submit feedback through OnePlus Community.
Changing Bluetooth codecs in Developer options is not a universal remedy and is not part of OnePlus’ documented fix; it can cause compatibility problems. The changelog also does not provide a rollback procedure.
