Samsung’s One UI 8.5 Beta 4 did reach the US—the rollout began around February 9–10, 2026. The “almost here” wording is now outdated, but this historical rollout matters to Galaxy S25 beta users because it delivered the S93xUSQU7ZZAL build, five reported fixes, and the reported Direct Voicemail feature.
This was a staged beta rollout, not a stable release for every Galaxy owner. Samsung initially released the fourth One UI 8.5 beta in South Korea before expanding it to the US and other markets. Some eligible phones could therefore receive the update later than others.
US build, size, and security patch
The US firmware was identified as S93xUSQU7ZZAL, where “S93x” represents the different Galaxy S25-series model variants. The update was reported as approximately 1.48GB by Android Authority and 1,511.28MB by SamMobile. Those figures are different presentations of roughly the same download, not evidence of separate US releases.

Beta 4 was based on Android 16 QPR2 and included the February 5, 2026 Android security patch. That patch level identifies the software included in the build; it does not mean every US device received the update on February 5.

What Beta 4 fixed
Reported beta changelog items covered five issues:
- The lock-screen clock could move downward unexpectedly.
- The Phone app could behave incorrectly when searching call history.
- Calls could switch from a connected Bluetooth headset to the phone.
- Phone numbers could fail to paste into the keypad after selecting a call link.
- AI Select could remain open instead of closing automatically after choosing Copy.
These were fixes listed for a beta build, not a guarantee that every related problem was permanently resolved for every user or would behave identically in the final software.
Direct Voicemail was the most notable reported addition
According to Android Authority’s report, Beta 4 introduced a Phone app feature called Direct Voicemail. It could reportedly:
- Send calls to voicemail automatically after a configured period.
- Let users manually send an incoming call to voicemail.
- Show a real-time text transcript while the message was being recorded.
- Keep the voicemail accessible inside Samsung’s Phone app.
The feature was compared with Apple’s Live Voicemail. Its availability and behavior could vary by language, region, carrier, or phone configuration. The report also suggested that processing occurred on the device and could work independently of carrier voicemail, but that should be treated as reported beta behavior rather than a universal Samsung specification. Direct Voicemail was not necessarily guaranteed to remain unchanged in the stable release.

Which Galaxy phones were eligible?
The initial One UI 8.5 beta program covered only:
- Galaxy S25
- Galaxy S25+
- Galaxy S25 Ultra
The Galaxy S25 Edge and Galaxy S25 FE were not included in the initial beta program. A phone model alone was not enough to guarantee access. Eligibility also depended on the supported country, Samsung account, local SIM configuration, device variant, and successful Samsung Members enrollment.
In the US, unlocked and carrier-branded models could follow different schedules. A phone purchased in another country might not qualify simply because it was being used in the United States.

- Open Settings.
- Tap Software update.
- Tap Download and install.
- Download and install the update if it appears.
- Restart the phone when prompted.
Because the rollout was staged, not seeing an update immediately did not automatically mean the phone was unsupported.

For users who had not yet joined, the reported registration process was:
- Open or install the Samsung Members app.
- Sign in with a Samsung account.
- Find the One UI beta program banner.
- Select One UI 8.5 S25 Beta.
- Tap Join.
- Return to the beta page and confirm that the status says Joined.
- Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
The original program required an eligible S25-series phone, a supported country, a local SIM card, and a Samsung account. Enrollment availability could also depend on the account and regional configuration.

What to do if the beta does not appear
- Confirm that Samsung Members shows the correct Samsung account and a completed enrollment.
- Open Samsung Members > three-dot menu > Settings > Beta program settings and check the status.
- Close and reopen Samsung Members.
- Check for updates manually in Settings > Software update > Download and install.
- If enrollment appears incomplete, leave and rejoin the beta program.
- Wait for the staged OTA rollout instead of downloading firmware from an unverified source.
Android Authority reported that some users saw Samsung Members stuck on “Processing join request.” There was no guaranteed immediate fix. Rechecking the account, waiting for processing, or trying another eligible S25 device were practical options. Unofficial flashing is not a normal workaround because it can create model, carrier, Knox, data-loss, or update-channel problems.

Beta 4 was one step in the broader One UI 8.5 testing program. Earlier program coverage associated One UI 8.5 with a more customizable Quick Panel, updated Bixby behavior, enhanced Galaxy AI image editing, Quick Share contact suggestions, Storage Share between Samsung devices, improved Auracast and voice-broadcast functions, lock-screen clock changes, weather effects for alarms, Samsung Health workout-stat sharing, Theft Protection changes, and revised battery information.
That broader list should not be mistaken for a list of features newly introduced by Beta 4. The fourth beta specifically stood out for its reported Direct Voicemail feature and the five bug fixes above.

Should you install a One UI beta?
Beta software can be worthwhile if you want early access to One UI changes and are comfortable reporting bugs. It may also let you try features such as Direct Voicemail before the stable release.
Waiting is safer for a primary work phone or a device needed for dependable calls, payments, banking, Bluetooth accessories, camera use, or emergency communication. Beta software can introduce new problems even when it fixes existing ones, and returning to stable software may require extra steps or a data reset depending on Samsung’s process.
One UI 8.5 Beta 4 was a test build—not stable One UI 8.5—and the available rollout reports do not establish a specific stable-release date. Samsung could also change or remove beta features before final software becomes available.
