The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti launched on February 20, 2025. In the United States, partner cards became available from 6 a.m. Pacific time (9 a.m. Eastern), with an announced starting price of $749. The desktop GPU was sold through board partners and system integrators, not as an NVIDIA Founders Edition card.
RTX 5070 Ti release date and launch time
NVIDIA initially announced that the RTX 5070 Ti would arrive sometime in February 2025. The company later confirmed the specific date, and its February 20 coverage stated that cards were out now.
U.S. launch availability began at:
- 6:00 a.m. Pacific Time
- 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time
- 2:00 p.m. GMT
Those times described the launch window, not a guarantee that every retailer or country listed stock at exactly the same minute. Regional inventory, retailer policies and partner supply varied. The February 20 date applied to the desktop RTX 5070 Ti; RTX 5070 Ti laptop systems were announced for March 2025.

NVIDIA announced a U.S. starting price of $749. That was an MSRP or starting-price signal, rather than a promise that every card would be sold at that price.

Because every retail card came from an add-in-board partner, models with larger coolers, factory overclocks or additional features could cost more. Launch-day coverage also reported limited availability and prices above the starting point. A product listing did not necessarily mean that inventory was available.
For buyers evaluating the card in 2026, $749 should be treated as its historical launch price—not its current street price. Current stock, used pricing, newer GPUs, warranty coverage and retailer policies need to be checked before buying.
Was there an RTX 5070 Ti Founders Edition?
No. NVIDIA did not provide an RTX 5070 Ti Founders Edition for the launch. Retail availability came from manufacturers including ASUS, Colorful, Gainward, GALAX, GIGABYTE, INNO3D, KFA2, MSI, Palit, PNY and ZOTAC, along with system integrators. NVIDIA’s launch announcement identified the partner-led distribution model.

This made the $749 figure harder to find in practice than an NVIDIA-branded reference card would have. When comparing models, check the specific card’s cooler, dimensions, warranty, connector requirements and price.
Where was the RTX 5070 Ti available?
NVIDIA directed buyers to:
- Graphics-card add-in-board partners
- Authorized retailers
- System integrators and prebuilt-PC manufacturers
NVIDIA’s product finder is the appropriate starting point for locating partner cards or systems. Manufacturer pages from ASUS, MSI, GIGABYTE, PNY and ZOTAC can help identify model-specific specifications.
Be cautious with marketplace listings. Confirm that the seller is authorized, the card is new or accurately described, the warranty applies in your country and the return policy is acceptable.

Board power, boost clock, dimensions, connector requirements and minimum power-supply recommendations vary by partner model. Use the selected manufacturer’s documentation rather than applying one specification to every RTX 5070 Ti.

Performance and DLSS 4 considerations
The RTX 5070 Ti was positioned between the RTX 5070 and RTX 5080, making it a high-end option for high-refresh-rate 1440p gaming and some 4K workloads. Actual results depend on the game, resolution, graphics settings, ray tracing, CPU and driver version.
Its Blackwell feature set includes DLSS 4, which can combine Super Resolution with Frame Generation and Multi Frame Generation in supported games. These technologies can increase the number of displayed frames, but generated frames are not equivalent to additional natively rendered frames. A higher frame counter also does not automatically mean lower input latency.

That distinction matters particularly in competitive multiplayer games. TechSpot’s launch analysis noted latency concerns associated with Multi Frame Generation. Treat generated-frame performance as a feature-dependent benefit, not as a replacement for strong native rendering performance.
Reviews were broadly positive when the card could be purchased near its launch price. Tom’s Hardware described it as faster than the RTX 4070 Ti and highlighted supply uncertainty. TechRadar likewise emphasized the $749 starting price while noting the complications created by the lack of a Founders Edition.

The RTX 5070 offered a lower entry price, while the RTX 5080 targeted buyers willing to pay more for additional performance. The Ti model made the most sense when its real price remained meaningfully below an RTX 5080 and when its 16GB memory capacity suited the buyer’s games or creative workloads.

Also compare the actual price—not just launch MSRP—with the RTX 4070 Ti Super, used RTX 4080-class cards, Radeon alternatives and newer-generation products available when you shop. Conventional rasterized gaming, ray tracing and DLSS support can produce different value judgments.
Compatibility checks before buying
- Power supply: Check the exact partner card’s capacity and connector requirements.
- Case clearance: Verify length, thickness and conflicts with front fans, radiators or drive cages.
- CPU: A weaker processor may limit very high refresh rates at 1440p.
- Monitor: Match the card to your resolution and refresh-rate goals.
- VRAM workload: Game textures, AI applications and 3D projects have different memory demands.
- Feature support: Confirm that your games support the DLSS features you plan to use.
- Seller protection: Check warranty coverage, returns and seller reputation.
Large triple-slot partner cards may deliver quieter cooling, but their size and premium price are not automatically worthwhile. Factory-overclocked versions also may not justify a substantial markup.
Should you buy an RTX 5070 Ti?
Consider one if its current price is close to the historical $749 launch level, you need its performance or 16GB of VRAM, and the chosen model fits your case and power supply.

Look elsewhere if its price approaches an RTX 5080, a newer equivalent or a better-value Radeon card. Buyers of competitive games should not purchase it solely for Multi Frame Generation, and anyone shopping in 2026 should compare current new and used alternatives rather than relying on 2025 launch pricing.
The release-date question has a clear answer: the desktop GeForce RTX 5070 Ti became available on February 20, 2025, through partner manufacturers and system builders. The better buying decision now depends on today’s price, stock, competing hardware and the specifications of the exact card.
