What management guided for Q2 FY2027
NVIDIA’s own forecast is the fixed benchmark for the August report:
| Measure | Company outlook |
|---|---|
| Revenue | $91.0 billion, plus or minus 2% (approximately $89.18 billion to $92.82 billion) |
| GAAP gross margin | 74.9%, plus or minus 50 basis points |
| Non-GAAP gross margin | 75.0%, plus or minus 50 basis points |
| GAAP operating expenses | Approximately $8.5 billion |
| Non-GAAP operating expenses | Approximately $8.3 billion |
| China Data Center compute revenue in the outlook | None assumed |
“No China Data Center compute revenue” is narrower than saying NVIDIA has no China business. It describes the assumption used in this specific quarter’s guidance.
What Wall Street expects
Third-party estimates are not company guidance and can change as analysts update their models. A pre-publication estimate page from ChartMill showed approximately $93.59 billion of revenue and $2.13 of EPS. Another estimate page, Moomoo, showed roughly $91.82 billion of revenue without a finalized EPS figure. These are different snapshots, not a single authoritative consensus.

A separate analyst view cited a possible $94 billion-$95 billion of Q2 revenue and $107 billion-$108 billion of next-quarter guidance. That is an individual scenario, not NVIDIA’s forecast or necessarily the market-wide consensus. Estimates must also be matched by fiscal period and by GAAP or adjusted EPS before comparisons are meaningful.
The numbers and comments that matter most
Data Center revenue, growth and mix
Data Center produced $75.2 billion in Q1 and is the central earnings variable. Investors will look for sequential growth, the balance between compute and networking, and whether demand is broad-based or concentrated among a few hyperscalers. Management may also discuss whether customers are buying complete platforms and systems rather than standalone accelerators.
Supply constraints can affect shipment timing and revenue recognition. Strong orders do not automatically become revenue in the same quarter.
Blackwell execution
The call should clarify whether Blackwell systems are shipping at scale, how production and rack-scale integration are progressing, and whether supply-chain bottlenecks are delaying customer deployments. Listen for product-mix and startup-cost comments that could affect margins. Do not treat an order, qualification or demand statement as recognized revenue unless NVIDIA reports it as revenue.

Rubin and the next architecture
Vera Rubin matters mainly as a forward-demand and transition signal at this stage. Separate products already shipping from future orders, customer qualification and deployment timing. Management’s comments can change expectations for later periods without changing Q2 revenue.
Gross margins
At roughly 75% non-GAAP margin, small changes have a large earnings effect at NVIDIA’s revenue scale. Investors should ask whether complete systems, networking, integration costs, supply constraints or product transitions changed the mix, and whether full-year margin expectations move.
China and export controls
Because the Q2 outlook assumes no China Data Center compute revenue, any authorized product, license or shipment could alter the upside or timing picture. Export rules can change, and a policy announcement is not guaranteed revenue. Separate revenue already included in guidance from revenue excluded from it, and wait for company or government confirmation of timing.
Hyperscaler spending and infrastructure constraints
The report will indicate whether large cloud and technology customers are sustaining AI infrastructure budgets, shifting from training toward inference, building capacity internally or renting it. Investors should also listen for discussion of power, networking and deployment bottlenecks. Customer capital spending does not translate one-for-one into NVIDIA revenue in the same quarter.

How to judge the report
- Compare actual revenue with NVIDIA’s $91 billion guide. The company’s stated range is approximately $89.18 billion to $92.82 billion.
- Compare actual revenue and EPS with a named, dated estimate source. Never compare GAAP actual EPS with an adjusted EPS estimate.
- Check gross margin against the 74.9% GAAP and 75.0% non-GAAP outlooks.
- Examine Data Center growth and mix. A headline beat with weaker mix or slowing momentum may be less impressive.
- Read the next-quarter outlook closely. Revenue, margins, expenses, China assumptions, Blackwell availability and Rubin timing can outweigh the completed quarter.
- Use the after-hours share-price move cautiously. The initial reaction can reverse when the call begins, management answers questions and investors digest the written commentary.
Why a beat could still send the stock lower
NVIDIA’s valuation reflects unusually high expectations. The company could exceed its revenue guide yet disappoint if forward guidance is below estimates, margins contract, supply commentary implies delays, or management describes demand as concentrated and less durable. Conversely, a result near guidance could be received positively if investors feared a larger shortfall.
The most useful question is not simply whether NVIDIA beat. It is whether the combination of current results, margins and forward visibility is strong enough to exceed what the market had already priced in.
What to have open on August 26
- NVIDIA’s written CFO commentary and earnings release.
- The fiscal-period labels: Q2 FY2027, quarter ended July 26, 2026.
- GAAP and non-GAAP EPS shown separately.
- Data Center revenue, sequential growth and product-mix comments.
- Gross-margin results versus guidance.
- Blackwell production, system deployment and supply commentary.
- China assumptions and any confirmed export authorization.
- Next-quarter revenue and margin guidance.
Because NVIDIA’s fiscal calendar differs from the calendar year, calling this simply “Q2 2026” would be misleading. The correct label is second quarter of fiscal 2027.
