Yes—but not directly into the Stream Deck+ itself. Elgato’s XLR Dock attaches to the back of a Stream Deck+ and adds a single XLR microphone input, headphone monitoring, microphone gain, phantom power, and Wave Link audio routing. It effectively gives an existing Stream Deck+ basic audio-interface functionality, but it is not a standalone USB audio interface.
Elgato announced the original XLR Dock on July 25, 2024. In 2026, the current product is the XLR Dock MK.2, which adds an onboard Wave FX Processor, Clipguard 2.0, integrated Wave Link support, and up to 80 dB of gain. The original XLR Dock MK1 is now listed as unavailable in Elgato’s US store.
What Elgato announced in 2024
Elgato’s July 25, 2024 announcement introduced two rear-mounted accessories for the Stream Deck+:

- USB Hub: adds extra USB ports, card readers, and power delivery.
Both accessories replace or attach to the rear stand area of the Stream Deck+, helping keep cables and hardware close to the controller. The USB Hub is a separate product; it is not required for XLR microphone operation. The original announcement discussed immediate ordering, with broader retailer availability announced for August 25, 2024. That date describes the 2024 launch, not the product’s current availability.

How the XLR Dock works
The audio path is straightforward:
- Connect one XLR microphone to the Dock.
- Attach the Dock to the rear of the Stream Deck+.
- Connect the Stream Deck+ to the computer by USB-C.
- Use Stream Deck and Wave Link to configure the input, monitoring, mixes, effects, and controls.
- Connect wired headphones to the Dock for monitoring.
The Dock normally has no independent computer connection. Its USB-C connection is routed through the Stream Deck+. The Stream Deck+ remains the computer-facing controller, which is why the Dock requires that specific hardware.
Physical installation replaces the standard Stream Deck+ stand. Elgato says the job requires only a Phillips screwdriver and the supplied hardware. The Dock’s integrated USB-C plug connects to the Stream Deck+; no separate USB cable is needed between the two devices. See Elgato’s quick-start guide for the assembly procedure.

What the current XLR Dock MK.2 adds
The current product is the XLR Dock MK.2, not the 2024 MK1. Elgato lists the MK.2 at $129.99 in the US, based on the price checked August 16, 2026. The older MK1 page lists $119.99 but marks the product unavailable.

The MK.2 supports 24-bit/48 kHz operation, a mono XLR input, a 3.5 mm stereo headphone output, and USB-C host I/O. Elgato lists maximum power consumption of 900 mA and dimensions of 115 × 137 × 76 mm. The current product page does not show a weight.

Its headline improvements are the Wave FX Processor, Clipguard 2.0, integrated Wave Link support, and the higher advertised gain ceiling. Elgato’s claims describe capabilities of the hardware and software; they do not mean the Dock automatically produces better sound than every conventional interface.

Which microphones work?
The MK.2 is designed for both dynamic and condenser XLR microphones. Dynamic broadcast microphones can benefit from its advertised gain range, while condenser microphones can use 48 V phantom power when required. Elgato says the Dock works with any XLR microphone, but real-world suitability still depends on microphone sensitivity, required gain, impedance, cable quality, and the room in which you record.
Keep these exceptions in mind:
- Enable phantom power only when needed. Turn 48 V off before connecting microphones that should not receive phantom power.
- Use extra care with ribbon microphones. Passive ribbon microphones should not casually be exposed to phantom power.
- USB microphones are not compatible with the XLR input. An XLR-to-USB cable is also not the same thing as an audio interface.
- This is a single mono input. It does not accept two microphones as a stereo pair or provide separate channels for co-hosts.

The zero-latency qualification matters. Elgato’s claim applies to onboard DSP effects. VST plug-ins run through the computer and can introduce latency depending on the computer and the plug-in chain.

Installation and first setup
- Disconnect the Stream Deck+. Shut it down or unplug it from the computer before changing the stand.
- Remove the standard stand. Keep the original hardware in case you later return the Stream Deck+ to its original configuration.
- Attach the Dock. Use the supplied screws and a Phillips screwdriver. Make sure the integrated USB-C plug is properly aligned and seated.
- Reconnect the Stream Deck+. Connect it to the computer through a compatible USB-C connection.
- Install or update Stream Deck and Wave Link. Restart the applications after installation if the Dock is not immediately recognized.
- Connect the microphone. Use a suitable XLR cable and confirm both ends are fully inserted.
- Set phantom power carefully. Enable 48 V only if the microphone requires it.
- Configure routing. Select the Dock or its Wave Link input in the operating system and your streaming, recording, or voice-chat application.
- Connect wired headphones. Use the Dock’s 3.5 mm output for monitoring.
- Assign controls. Add gain, mute, volume, monitoring, or Wave Link actions to Stream Deck keys and dials.
Software labels and menu locations can change with Stream Deck and Wave Link releases, so the exact wording may differ from the version installed on your computer.
Is it a replacement for a normal audio interface?
For an existing Stream Deck+ owner using one microphone, functionally it can replace a basic single-channel interface. It provides the essential pieces: XLR input, microphone gain, phantom power, conversion, headphone monitoring, and computer audio routing.
It is not a universal replacement for a studio interface or podcast mixer. The Dock has one microphone input, fixed 24-bit/48 kHz operation, and no obvious provision for multiple microphones, instrument inputs, MIDI, preamp expansion, or extensive analog I/O.

The distinction is therefore between audio-interface functionality and a full-featured audio interface. The Dock’s main differentiator is its integration with Stream Deck controls and Wave Link, not a large collection of recording inputs.

The Dock is an accessory, not a useful standalone purchase. Elgato’s current page showed the black Stream Deck+ at $159.99 when the MK.2 price was checked. Buying both individually therefore comes to approximately $289.98 before tax, calculated from those listed prices. Prices and availability can change.
Elgato also listed a white Stream Deck+ and XLR Dock MK.2 bundle at $309.98. That bundle is aimed at a new buyer; an existing Stream Deck+ owner generally needs only the Dock. Compare the bundle listing with the individual products before purchasing.
Who should buy the XLR Dock MK.2?
- Existing Stream Deck+ owners who want to add XLR audio without another box on the desk.
- Streamers and podcasters who use one microphone and want physical gain, mute, mix, or effects controls.
- Discord and video creators who value quick application routing through Wave Link.
- Creators with limited desk space who prefer a rear-mounted accessory and fewer visible cables.
- Users who specifically want Stream Deck integration rather than a conventional interface with separate controls.
Who should skip it?
- New buyers seeking the cheapest route to XLR audio. You must also buy a Stream Deck+ unless you already own one.
- Two-person podcasters and musicians who need multiple microphone or instrument inputs.
- Users needing MIDI, expansion, multiple analog outputs, or broader studio connectivity.
- People who already own a capable interface and do not need Stream Deck-specific controls.
- Linux users or anyone on an older unsupported operating system.
- USB-microphone users who do not need XLR cabling, phantom power, or interface-style gain control.
Alternatives to consider
These products are comparison candidates rather than exact equivalents:

- Elgato Wave XLR is a conventional Elgato USB XLR interface for buyers who want Wave Link without buying a Stream Deck+.
- Focusrite Scarlett Solo is a conventional single-input interface suited to buyers prioritizing basic recording and DAW use.
- RØDE AI-1 is a compact single-input interface for straightforward voice or instrument setups.
- Audient EVO 4 is more appropriate when additional inputs may be useful.
- Standalone mixers or multi-input interfaces are better for co-hosted podcasts, several microphones, instruments, and more complex routing.
- A USB microphone is the simpler choice when XLR connectivity and phantom power are unnecessary.

Troubleshooting
The Dock is not detected
- Confirm the Stream Deck+ is connected directly or through a compatible USB-C connection.
- Install or update the Stream Deck app.
- Install Wave Link for MK.2 features.
- Restart Stream Deck and Wave Link after assembly.
- Check that the Dock is fully seated, secured, and connected to the Stream Deck+.
The microphone produces no sound
- Check both ends of the XLR cable.
- Select the Dock or Wave Link input in the operating system and streaming application.
- Check the microphone’s own mute switch.
- Increase gain gradually rather than immediately turning it to maximum.
- Enable phantom power only when the microphone requires it.
The audio is distorted
- Reduce microphone gain.
- Check Clipguard settings.
- Lower the Wave Link or application mix level.
- Check whether a software effect or plug-in is adding extra gain.
Headphone monitoring has delay
- Use wired headphones through the Dock.
- Prefer onboard DSP effects when the lowest-latency monitoring is important.
- Remember that VST effects may add latency.
Stream Deck controls do not change microphone settings
- Install the latest compatible Stream Deck app.
- Assign a gain-control action to a dial through the Volume Controller or Wave Link plug-in.
- Verify that Wave Link is running and that the correct input is selected.
Bottom line
The XLR Dock is best understood as an integration upgrade for Stream Deck+, not as a universally superior audio interface. The current MK.2 is the relevant model: it adds a single XLR input, headphone monitoring, up to 80 dB of advertised gain, 48 V phantom power, Wave Link routing, Clipguard 2.0, and onboard Wave FX processing.
For someone who already owns a Stream Deck+ and uses one XLR microphone, the compact design and physical software controls can justify the $129.99 US list price checked in August 2026. For a new buyer, the total cost is much higher than a basic conventional interface. And for multi-microphone podcasts, music recording, or expanded studio setups, a standalone multi-input interface or mixer remains the more appropriate tool.
