Nomad released the Stratos Band in Icy Blue Glow for Apple Watch on January 20, 2026. It is a limited-edition hybrid band—not a new Apple Watch Ultra—with Grade 4 titanium hardware, glow-in-the-dark FKM interior links, and a magnetic clasp.
The reported launch price was $189, while Nomad’s current U.S. product listing shows $209. The band is designed for Apple Watch Ultra 1–3 but also fits several standard Apple Watch sizes. Its glow must be charged under direct light and lasts approximately 10–20 minutes, according to Nomad.
What Nomad released
The product is officially the Nomad Stratos Band — Natural Titanium / Icy Blue Glow FKM. It combines a premium-looking titanium exterior with flexible, luminous FKM sections between the links.

Nomad offers the Icy Blue Glow treatment with natural titanium hardware, while launch coverage also reported a black titanium configuration. The metal itself does not glow: the photoluminescent material is used in the FKM interior links that sit between the titanium sections.

Nomad positions Stratos around the Apple Watch Ultra, but it is not Ultra-exclusive. The band uses a hybrid construction intended to look more refined than a conventional sport strap while remaining more flexible than a fully rigid metal bracelet.
How the glow works
“Glow” does not mean LEDs, a battery, or an illuminated display. The FKM is photoluminescent, so it must first absorb light.
- Place the FKM side under direct light for about one hour.
- Move into a dark environment.
- Expect the strongest glow shortly after exposure.
Nomad estimates approximately 10–20 minutes of glow, depending on the strength and duration of the light exposure. It is a novelty feature for brief nighttime visibility, not an all-night illumination system.

Materials and construction
- Hardware: Grade 4 titanium with a scratch-resistant DLC coating, according to Nomad.
- Interior links: Compression-molded FKM, a flexible fluoroelastomer designed for water resistance and easier cleaning.
- Clasp: A custom magnetic clasp using corrosion-resistant N52 magnets.
- Maintenance: Nomad says the FKM can be cleaned or sanitized with soap and water.
The result is a band aimed at buyers who want titanium’s Apple Watch Ultra-style appearance without choosing a completely inflexible bracelet. The FKM sections should also be more practical around sweat and water than leather.
Compatibility: it is not only for Ultra
Nomad lists compatibility with Apple Watch Ultra 1, Ultra 2, and Ultra 3. The Ultra/46mm configuration also fits Apple Watch models using compatible 49mm, 46mm, 45mm, and 44mm band sizes, as well as certain older 42mm models.
That means the band is not compatible with every Apple Watch automatically. Buyers should select the correct Ultra/46mm configuration and check Nomad’s compatibility table for their watch generation and case size.

The band is supplied with a sizing tool for removing links. It is not an infinitely adjustable soft strap, so measure your wrist before ordering. Remove links gradually and test the fit after each adjustment.
One customer review on Nomad’s product page praised the comfort and adjustability but mentioned loose-feeling lugs and occasional clasp pinching. That is an individual report, not evidence of a systematic defect, but it is a useful reason to buy from a retailer with an acceptable return policy and to check the fit promptly.
Water resistance and workouts
Nomad describes Stratos as water-resistant and says it can be used around water, provided it is allowed to dry fully afterward. FKM makes it a more sensible choice for sweat and occasional water exposure than leather.

However, “water-resistant” is not the same as a stated swimming or diving rating. The available product information does not establish that the band is suitable for diving, prolonged immersion, or every saltwater use case. A lightweight sport or adventure band remains the safer choice for buyers whose main priority is swimming or high-impact training.

Nomad’s current U.S. product and checkout listings in the supplied pricing snapshot show the band at $209. These are two points in the product’s pricing timeline, not necessarily an error: $189 was the reported launch price, while $209 is the later official listing price.

Nomad’s checkout listing also advertises a two-year warranty or extended warranty, free U.S. returns, and free two-day shipping for qualifying orders. Availability, delivery terms, and price can vary by country and may change.
Should you buy the Icy Blue Glow Stratos Band?
It makes sense if you want:
- A premium titanium look for an Apple Watch Ultra or compatible standard Apple Watch.
- A hybrid band that is more flexible than a solid metal bracelet.
- FKM’s easier cleaning and better practicality around sweat and water.
- A distinctive limited-edition finish.
- A short-duration glow effect as an occasional nighttime novelty.
It is a poor fit if you need:
- The lightest possible band for workouts.
- A low-cost replacement strap.
- Glow that lasts all night without repeated exposure to light.
- A formal swimming, diving, or high-impact-use guarantee.
- A fit outside Nomad’s stated 130–200mm wrist range.
The standard black Stratos Band is the more practical in-family choice if you want the titanium-and-FKM design without the Icy Blue Glow treatment. Nomad’s Rocky Point Band is another alternative for buyers who prioritize a more explicitly Ultra-focused rugged design, although its construction and use case are different.
Verdict
Nomad’s Icy Blue Glow Stratos Band is best understood as a premium material and styling upgrade with a fun secondary glow feature. The titanium/FKM hybrid construction, adjustable links, and water-resistant design are more important to the buying decision than the glow itself.
