It is the week’s best bet if you want a standalone weekend thriller: the missing-child investigation offers an immediate hook, while the fractured father-son relationship adds a personal stake. That is a recommendation based on the premise and format, not a claim about reviews or audience reception before release.
Choose it if: you want a crime thriller, enjoy book adaptations, or would rather watch a film than start a series. The official synopsis establishes the serial-killer connection; there is no need to go in knowing more.

Netflix describes Kang Pi-o, played by Song Kang, as a perfection-driven prodigy; Lee Jun-young plays Choi Jeong-yo, a late-blooming musician whose difficult childhood informs his pursuit of piano. Pick this over The Whisper Man if you want a character-driven Korean drama, a music-school setting or a story to follow beyond one movie night. The announced date is a premiere date; Netflix has not confirmed here whether the season will drop all at once or release episodes weekly.

One big release just outside the week
Outer Banks Season 5 is scheduled for Thursday, August 20, four days before this guide’s August 24–30 window. If you meant the next several days from Tuesday, August 18, rather than the following calendar week, it is the major release to note first. Netflix says its original shows and films typically become available globally at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time. That normally corresponds to 1:00 a.m. Mountain, 2:00 a.m. Central and 3:00 a.m. Eastern.
