The headline’s “photo shoot cameo” referred to leaked product photographs—not a celebrity appearance, fashion campaign, or official Motorola shoot. Published on May 7, 2024, the leak showed Motorola’s then-unannounced premium clamshell, later sold in the U.S. as the Motorola Razr+ 2024 and internationally as the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra.
What the leaked photos showed
The images, credited by HotHardware to 91Mobiles, depicted a phone with the familiar Razr clamshell shape and model number XT-24510-3. The photographed device appeared to have:
- A large outer display covering most of the upper half when closed
- Two horizontally arranged rear cameras and a flash
- Motorola and Razr branding on the back
- Thin bezels around the inner foldable display
- A centered punch-hole selfie camera
- Power and volume controls on the right edge
The leak suggested that Motorola was refining the previous generation rather than abandoning its established design. The exterior looked broadly similar to the 2023 Razr+, but photographs alone could not establish whether the hinge, internal hardware, durability, or software had remained unchanged.

Razr, not Razer—and two regional names
“Razer” is a spelling error in the original headline. Motorola’s phone brand is Razr.

The naming also caused confusion. In North America, Motorola launched this premium model as the Razr+ 2024. In international markets, the corresponding product was called the Razr 50 Ultra. They belong to the same product family, although storage, colors, network compatibility, bundled features, and regional software can vary. The lower-tier Razr 2024, known internationally as the Razr 50, is a different device.
Motorola confirmed the regional naming when it announced the 2024 Razr family on June 25, 2024. U.S. preorders were scheduled for July 10 through Motorola, Amazon, Best Buy, T-Mobile, and AT&T—dates that are now historical.
Which specifications were rumors?
The May leak combined visible evidence with early reports about specifications. It suggested possible blue, orange, and green finishes, a 12GB/512GB configuration, a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, and improvements to the cameras and battery.

Those details should be treated as pre-launch claims, not universal final specifications. A photographed color or reported memory configuration does not prove that every market received it, and certification or tipster information is not the same as Motorola’s final regional specification sheet.
What Motorola later confirmed
Motorola’s official announcement established the product’s more important characteristics:
- A 4-inch external display on the premium Razr+ 2024/Razr 50 Ultra
- A 6.9-inch internal foldable display
- A 50MP camera system with telephoto capability
- AI-assisted camera and portrait features
- U.S. availability under the Razr+ 2024 name and international availability under the Razr 50 Ultra name
Motorola’s U.S. product page also lists features such as Gesture Selfie, Auto Smile Capture, Portrait Mode, HDR, Night Vision, Photo Booth, and the ability to use the outer display for camera controls and previews.

Why the leak mattered
The Razr was one of the most visible alternatives to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip line, and its unusually large cover screen was a key differentiator. The photos answered an immediate question: would Motorola radically redesign the phone for 2024?
The answer, based on the images, was no—at least not externally. The leak previewed a recognizable Razr with a screen-forward cover and familiar camera placement. The generation’s importance was more likely to come from refinements to the display, cameras, processor, software, and hinge than from a dramatic visual overhaul.

- Water resistance
- Screen brightness or crease visibility
- Camera quality in real-world lighting
- Battery endurance
- Software-update longevity
- Retail value or performance against competing foldables
That distinction matters because the original story was a leak report, not a review. The later official specifications identify what Motorola launched, but testing is required to judge how the phone performs.
Buying context in 2026
This is now a historical 2024 leak story, not a report about Motorola’s newest Razr. Motorola has since introduced newer Razr generations, including products covered in its 2026 announcement.
Someone considering a Razr+ 2024 or imported Razr 50 Ultra should verify the exact model, RAM and storage, carrier bands, eSIM support, warranty region, software-support status, and return policy. For used or refurbished units, inspect the hinge, inner display, battery condition, and signs of screen damage. The U.S. Razr+ 2024 and an imported Razr 50 Ultra should not be assumed to have identical network support or warranty service.
Prices and availability are especially volatile in 2026. A reported discount or secondary-market listing is not a universal current price, so buyers should check the live seller, device condition, storage tier, and warranty before purchasing.
The bottom line
“Motorola’s 2024 Razer Plus Foldable Makes a Photo Shoot Cameo” meant that an unreleased Motorola Razr+ 2024 appeared in leaked product photographs. The images accurately previewed a clamshell with a large outer screen, dual rear cameras, and a design close to the previous Razr+. They did not confirm every rumored specification or prove anything about durability, battery life, or camera performance. Motorola’s later announcement established the phone’s 4-inch cover display, 50MP camera system with telephoto capability, and its Razr 50 Ultra identity outside the U.S.
