The Samsung Galaxy S25+ is the stronger all-round flagship, particularly for demanding performance, Samsung’s software ecosystem and a more established camera experience. The Motorola Edge 60 Pro is the better value-oriented pick if its regional price is lower and you care most about battery capacity, faster wired charging, display resolution or its higher dust-and-water protection rating.

The choice is less straightforward if you are importing the Motorola: its configurations and network compatibility vary by market, and the cited official specifications do not establish US carrier support or a US retail price. Check the exact model and warranty before buying.

At a glance: Edge 60 Pro vs. Galaxy S25+

Specifications below reflect the cited sources, not a promise that every regional configuration is identical. Motorola explicitly notes market variation; confirm the precise SKU, storage, SIM setup and included accessories where you plan to buy.

Which phone is faster for apps and gaming?

The Galaxy S25+ is the better choice for peak performance and demanding workloads. Its Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy is a flagship platform, while the Edge 60 Pro uses the upper-midrange Dimensity 8350. That class difference favors Samsung for intensive games, emulation, video editing and performance headroom as apps grow more demanding.

Tom’s Guide measured the S25+ at 3,141 single-core and 10,153 multi-core in Geekbench 6, and 6,579 in 3DMark Wild Life Extreme Unlimited. Those are results for the Samsung phone in that review, not a direct benchmark comparison with the Motorola; the cited coverage did not test both phones under the same conditions.

Motorola’s 120Hz display, 300Hz touch rate in gaming mode, large battery and storage make it suitable for casual and moderate gaming. They do not make it a dedicated gaming phone. For long sessions, frame-rate stability, surface temperature, battery drain and thermal dimming matter as much as the screen’s refresh rate. Samsung also promotes ray tracing, Vulkan optimization and a larger vapor chamber for the S25 series.

Which has the better display?

On listed resolution, the Edge 60 Pro wins: its cited specification is 2712×1220 on a 6.7-inch 120Hz pOLED panel. Motorola also claims peak brightness up to 4,500 nits, HDR10+, Pantone color and skin-tone validation, and a 300Hz touch rate in gaming mode.

The S25+ also has a 6.7-inch 120Hz display, but its listed resolution is lower. Tom’s Guide measured 1,350 nits peak brightness on the Samsung in its test. That independent result cannot be fairly compared with Motorola’s manufacturer peak claim: test conditions and measurement methods differ, and a brief peak is not the same as sustained full-screen brightness or outdoor readability.

Shape matters in daily use. Motorola’s curved glass can look striking, but curved edges may add reflections, accidental touches, image distortion at the margins and complications for screen protectors or repairs. Samsung’s flatter design is generally more conventional for typing, gaming, cases and protectors. If outdoor visibility is decisive, look for standardized measurements and real-world behavior rather than choosing by peak-brightness numbers alone.

Which lasts longer, and which charges faster?

The Edge 60 Pro has the larger stated battery: 6,000mAh typical capacity against 4,900mAh in the S25+. That gives Motorola a capacity advantage, but it does not prove a particular number of extra hours. Motorola lists up to 34 hours under its own mixed-use methodology; Samsung advertises up to 30 hours of video playback. Because the manufacturers describe different tests, those claims should not be compared as if they came from one lab.

In Tom’s Guide’s battery test, the S25+ lasted 16 hours 55 minutes. The cited sources do not provide a directly comparable Edge 60 Pro result from that same test, so there is no sound basis here for claiming a measured endurance margin between the two.

Motorola wins on rated wired charging: up to 90W TurboPower versus 45W for Samsung. Both are rated for 15W wireless charging. Motorola says the 90W charger may be sold separately and that its charging performance depends on the appropriate TurboPower charger. Check the retail box in your country and factor in the cost of a compatible charger if it is not included; Samsung’s review coverage lists 45W wired charging.

Motorola states an endurance figure of at least 1,000 battery cycles on its cited support page. That is a cycle claim, not a promise of a particular capacity-retention percentage after that many cycles.

Which has the better cameras?

What the specifications say

Samsung’s US specifications list a 50MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide, 10MP telephoto with 3× optical zoom and 12MP selfie camera, with up to 30× digital zoom. Motorola’s published specifications describe a 50MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide and 10MP 3× telephoto system; its front camera is listed as 50MP in third-party specifications, so check the exact regional Motorola SKU for the complete configuration.

More megapixels do not automatically mean better photos. Sensor size, lens quality, stabilization, image processing and video pipeline all affect results. Motorola’s higher ultrawide pixel count is a hardware distinction, not proof that its ultrawide images are better.

What to expect in real use

Samsung is the safer bet if you value a mature flagship camera and video experience, especially for consistency across lenses, low-light processing, moving subjects, stabilization and social-media sharing. Motorola’s camera hardware looks ambitious for its price class and may appeal to people who want ultrawide and telephoto flexibility at a lower price. Without comparable same-scene testing, neither phone should be declared the universal photo winner.

When comparing camera samples, look beyond a sunny main-camera shot. Check indoor mixed light, a night street, a moving person or pet, 3× zoom, ultrawide distortion, portrait edges, selfie skin tones, 4K stabilization and wind-noise handling. Those situations reveal trade-offs that a megapixel count cannot.

How do their software, AI and support compare?

Samsung: more features and a broader ecosystem

One UI is more heavily customized and offers a larger set of Samsung services. Samsung promotes Galaxy AI features including Now Brief, Audio Eraser, Circle to Search and cross-app actions, along with Knox-related security features and integration with Galaxy phones, tablets, watches, earbuds and PCs. Smart Switch is designed to move data from another Android phone or an iPhone.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Galaxy AI availability is conditional, not a guarantee that every feature works for every owner. Samsung says some features may require internet access, a Google Account, a Samsung Account or updated apps, and availability varies by country, language, device and carrier.

Motorola: a lighter-touch interface and cross-device tools

Motorola’s software is closer to stock Android and includes Moto Secure, ThinkShield, gestures and an AI Key in its product materials. Smart Connect can link the phone with compatible PCs, tablets and TVs, but it is not universal: Motorola says a PC app may be needed, devices may need a shared Wi-Fi access point or USB-C connection, and TV mirroring requires compatible Miracast support. Some Motorola AI functions also require a Motorola account and connectivity.

Check the exact update commitment before purchase

The cited official pages do not establish a sufficiently explicit, current model-specific update duration for both phones. Before buying, check each manufacturer’s current support policy for the exact model and region: Android version upgrades, security-update end date and frequency, and whether the period begins at launch or first sale. Do not treat an unverified update-count claim as a settled comparison.

Which is more durable?

Motorola has the stronger headline ingress-protection specification: IP68/IP69, compared with IP68 for Samsung. Motorola also cites Gorilla Glass 7i and MIL-STD-810H testing; Samsung lists an Armor Aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass Victus 2. These are different kinds of claims and do not establish that either phone will survive every drop or harsh environment.

IP ratings describe performance under controlled conditions, not a guarantee against damage from every liquid, pressure, impact or exposure. Water resistance can decline with wear, impact or repair, and neither phone should be intentionally submerged. Motorola itself cautions that military-standard testing does not guarantee ruggedness under all extreme use.

For everyday ownership, a case and repairability may matter more than the rating. The Motorola’s curved screen can make finding a well-fitting protector more involved and may increase the consequences of a screen break; confirm case and protector availability for the exact model before relying on the phone unprotected.

Will the Edge 60 Pro work on your carrier?

This question is especially important for imported Motorola phones. The cited UK Edge 60 Pro page lists Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, pSIM plus eSIM and a set of 4G/5G bands, while warning that specifications vary by market. That does not establish that a UK, Indian, European or Middle Eastern unit will work identically on a US carrier.

Before importing one, confirm all of the following for the exact model number with the carrier and seller:

  • Supported 4G and 5G bands for your location.
  • VoLTE, 5G registration, Wi-Fi calling and eSIM support on that carrier.
  • Carrier certification and whether the handset is unlocked.
  • Warranty territory, repair options, return terms and import charges.
  • Regional availability of Google Pay, AI features and other services you depend on.

Samsung’s Galaxy S25+ has a clearer official US product path in the cited material. If easy carrier purchase, financing, trade-in and local warranty handling are priorities, buy the version officially sold in your market rather than assuming an imported model is equivalent.

Which is the better value?

The Edge 60 Pro’s value case rests on hardware: a 6,000mAh battery, up to 90W wired charging, a higher-resolution display and, in the cited UK specification, 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. It is compelling when officially sold at a meaningful discount to the S25+ and when the buyer does not need Samsung’s stronger performance platform or ecosystem.

The cited sources do not establish a current, comparable price for both phones in one market. Compare the same storage tier and distinguish outright price from trade-in offers, carrier bill credits, financing and bundles. An imported Motorola can also bring hidden costs: charger, case, tax, difficult returns, limited warranty and carrier incompatibility. No foreign-market price should be treated as a US price without a verified US listing.

Samsung’s US product page showed an offer of up to $500+ instant trade-in credit when crawled on August 18, 2026. That is a conditional offer, not a guaranteed discount; eligibility, device condition and qualifying models can change. Check the live terms and compare the final amount you would actually pay.

Which one should you buy?

Choose the Edge 60 Pro if…

  • Battery capacity and fast wired charging are your top priorities.
  • You want the sharper curved display or a high-capacity storage configuration at a lower local price.
  • You value its higher stated ingress-protection rating and are comfortable with the trade-offs of a curved screen.
  • You can buy an officially supported local version, or have verified the imported SKU’s network support and warranty.

Choose the Galaxy S25+ if…

  • You want stronger performance headroom for demanding games and intensive apps.
  • You prioritize Samsung’s One UI features, Galaxy ecosystem, Smart Switch or Knox tools.
  • You want a safer mainstream flagship choice for camera and video consistency.
  • You value a flatter display, local carrier availability and established retail or warranty support.

For buyers in the United States, the S25+ is the lower-risk recommendation based on the official US sales information available here; the cited Motorola sources do not establish a US retail price or carrier availability. Elsewhere, the Edge 60 Pro can be the smarter buy when it is officially available at a substantial discount and the buyer’s priorities match its hardware strengths.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
