Nixxes’ support page lists eight Sony-published PC games with AMD FSR 3.1 support, including frame generation. The feature is built into the games and is not limited to Radeon graphics cards: Nixxes lists GeForce RTX 20-series and newer GPUs as supported, too. It is separate from AMD’s newer FSR 4 and Redstone options, which have additional compatibility requirements.

Which Sony PC games have FSR 3.1?

As of August 16, 2026, Nixxes’ frame-generation recommendations list these eight games as supporting AMD FSR 3.1:

Game FSR 3.1 status Separately documented update detail
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered Listed by Nixxes as supported Specific patch and date not stated on the Nixxes recommendations page
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Listed by Nixxes as supported Specific patch and date not stated on the Nixxes recommendations page
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Listed by Nixxes as supported Specific patch and date not stated on the Nixxes recommendations page
Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition Listed by Nixxes as supported Patch 1.5.80.0, published February 2, 2026, explicitly added FSR 3.1, frame generation, and Native AA
Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut Listed by Nixxes as supported Specific patch and date not stated on the Nixxes recommendations page
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered Listed by Nixxes as supported Specific patch and date not stated on the Nixxes recommendations page
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Listed by Nixxes as supported Specific patch and date not stated on the Nixxes recommendations page
The Last of Us Part II Remastered Listed by Nixxes as supported Specific patch and date not stated on the Nixxes recommendations page

This is a rolling set of game updates, not evidence that all eight received support in one release. Nixxes release notes dated January 26 and February 2, 2026 describe additions of FSR 3.1 with frame generation and Native AA, but their visible headings do not identify the games. The notes therefore cannot establish which titles those version numbers belong to: version 3.617.1.0 and version v2.618.0.0.

For Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition, Nixxes’ patch 1.5.80.0 notes explicitly name FSR 3.1, frame generation, and Native AA. That is the clearest game-specific patch confirmation in the cited notes.

What “native FSR 3.1” means—and what it does not

Native FSR 3.1 is an in-game implementation: the game’s own graphics options expose AMD’s feature, and the game supplies the rendering information it needs to upscale an image or generate intermediate frames. That differs from a driver override, which attempts to upgrade a compatible game’s existing FSR integration through AMD Software, and from third-party tools that inject frame generation into a game not designed for it.

FSR 3.1 support does not mean that every newer AMD feature is automatically available. AMD distinguishes game integrations and driver-upgrade paths in its supported-games information. Its requirements include the appropriate FSR 3.1 integration for upscaling or FSR 3.1.4 integration for the ML-based frame-generation upgrade. Compatibility can change, so check AMD’s current list for a particular title rather than assuming an FSR 3.1 label guarantees every upgrade.

The cited Redstone notes establish compatibility for two Nixxes releases, but their headings do not identify the game titles. They do not establish Redstone support for all eight games in the FSR 3.1 list.

Which graphics cards can use native FSR 3.1?

Nixxes lists AMD Radeon RX 5000-series and newer, as well as Nvidia GeForce RTX 20-series and newer, as supported for FSR 3 upscaling and frame generation. Its recommendations are Radeon RX 6000-series or newer and GeForce RTX 30-series or newer. In other words, the in-game FSR 3.1 feature is not exclusive to AMD cards.

That caveat matters for older graphics cards, integrated GPUs, and handheld PCs: the broad support guidance is not a performance guarantee for a particular device, game, operating system, or configuration.

How to enable frame generation

Menu wording differs among games and can change with patches. Use the game’s graphics settings rather than assuming a driver-level toggle is equivalent to the in-game feature.

  1. Update the game in Steam, the Epic Games Store, or the launcher where you own it.
  2. Install a current graphics driver for your AMD or Nvidia GPU.
  3. Open the game’s Options, Settings, or Graphics menu.
  4. Select the AMD FSR option, then choose an upscaling mode such as Quality, Balanced, or Performance if the game offers those choices.
  5. Turn on Frame Generation separately if the game presents it as a separate setting. Selecting Native AA alone does not enable frame generation; Nixxes lists Native AA and frame generation as distinct additions in the Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition patch notes.
  6. Restart the game if it asks you to, then check for artifacts, uneven frame pacing, or input delay during play.

Get a solid base frame rate first

Nixxes recommends reaching approximately 60 FPS before applying frame generation. Generated frames can make motion appear smoother, but they do not make the game simulation or input response run at the displayed frame rate. A game rendering at 30 FPS may look smoother after generation while still responding more like a 30-FPS game than a game that renders 60 FPS on its own.

If the underlying rate is too low, try lowering demanding graphics settings or rendering resolution before enabling frame generation. It is most useful when a game already runs smoothly and you want smoother motion on a high-refresh display; it is less compelling when responsiveness is the priority or the GPU or CPU cannot maintain a reasonable base rate.

Settings that can affect the experience

  • FreeSync: Enable it when both the display and GPU support it. Nixxes recommends variable refresh where available, but it cannot repair a very low base frame rate or frame-generation artifacts.
  • Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling: Nixxes recommends enabling it on supported Windows 11 systems with Radeon RX 7000-series or newer GPUs.
  • Radeon Anti-Lag: Nixxes advises disabling driver-level Radeon Anti-Lag because it may cause frame-pacing problems with this setup. Use in-game Radeon Anti-Lag 2 only where the game supports it.
  • Other frame-generation tools: Do not combine FSR frame generation with AMD Fluid Motion Frames. Nixxes warns that simultaneous use can cause frame-pacing issues; overlays and other driver-level frame-generation features can also affect smoothness.

Troubleshooting missing options, stutter, or artifacts

The frame-generation option is missing

  • Confirm the game is fully updated and that you are looking in its graphics settings for a separate frame-generation toggle.
  • Check that your GPU and driver meet the game’s stated requirements. If you are trying to use a driver-level FSR upgrade rather than native FSR 3.1, check AMD’s supported-games list and integration requirements.
  • Make sure the game is running in the required graphics mode; AMD’s driver-based ML upgrade path requires DirectX 12.
  • Do not assume that an FSR 3.1 in-game option will expose FSR 4 or Redstone through the same menu. Those features have distinct compatibility and driver requirements.

Frame generation stutters or looks uneven

  1. Turn off in-game frame generation and check whether the stutter stops.
  2. Disable AMD Fluid Motion Frames and other driver-level frame interpolation or generation features.
  3. Temporarily turn off third-party overlays to see whether they are contributing to uneven presentation.
  4. Enable FreeSync if your display supports it and confirm the game’s base frame rate is near Nixxes’ approximately 60-FPS recommendation.
  5. Reduce resolution or graphics quality if the base rate is too low, then test frame generation again.
  6. Use in-game Radeon Anti-Lag 2 only if it is supported; avoid driver-level Radeon Anti-Lag for this setup in line with Nixxes’ guidance.

A higher FPS counter with frame generation is not proof that the game has become equally more responsive: generated frames are interpolated display frames, not additional game-simulation updates. No universal latency improvement is established for these titles.

Should you turn it on?

  • Single-player games and smoother camera motion: Try it if the game already runs near 60 FPS and you prefer visual smoothness over the lowest possible input latency.
  • Competitive play or latency-sensitive controls: Compare with it off; the displayed frame rate alone does not tell you how responsive the game feels.
  • Low-end PCs and handhelds: Do not assume generation will compensate for an inadequate base frame rate. Test the specific game and device, and lower settings first if needed.
  • Radeon RX 9000-series owners: Check whether the specific game has a separately documented Redstone or FSR 4 path and whether your driver meets its requirements. Native FSR 3.1 support by itself does not prove that it does.
