Choose Moises for fast, accessible stem separation, practice, rehearsal, karaoke and mobile use. Choose RipX DAW when you need desktop production, note-level editing, artifact repair or detailed remixing; choose RipX DAW PRO for advanced cleanup and DAW integration. Neither is a proven universal winner for separation quality without testing the same source files, settings and exports.
Moises and RipX are built for different jobs
Both products use AI-assisted source separation, but they diverge after the split. Moises is a musician-focused app and service with a mixer/player, practice tools and performance features across web, desktop, iPhone, iPad and Android. RipX DAW is a desktop audio-editing and remixing environment that exposes separated material as editable layers and musical events.
That distinction matters more than a simple stem-count comparison. Moises helps you quickly make a backing track or learn a song. RipX helps you repair, rearrange and creatively transform an already mixed recording.

What Moises does better
Fast practice and rehearsal setup
Upload a permitted song, separate the parts, lower or mute the instrument you are learning, loop a section and play along. The synchronized smart metronome, tempo control and pitch shifting are designed for practice rather than engineering work.
Musical information in the same app
Moises can display detected chords and key, estimate BPM, transcribe lyrics and organize songs in setlists. Those features are useful to guitarists, singers, drummers, teachers and performers who need a usable rehearsal track quickly.
Access away from the studio
Web, desktop and mobile apps make the same general workflow available on a phone or tablet. Feature availability differs by platform and plan; Moises documents those differences at its platform comparison page.

Simple mixing and recording
You can adjust stem levels, solo or mute parts, record over an arrangement and export a result where the account and platform permit it. Moises is not intended to replace a full DAW for detailed automation, plug-ins, arrangement and mastering.

What RipX does better
More surgical editing after the split
RipX represents extracted audio in layers that can be manipulated at a granular or note-oriented level. You can move or remove material, retune a phrase, alter timing, rebalance layers and reassign content instead of treating every stem as an untouchable file.
Repair and creative transformation
RipX DAW PRO adds professional cleanup and audio-manipulation functions for reducing bleed and artifacts, replacing sounds and making harmonic changes. The underlying source remains audio; describing it as “like MIDI” is a product-positioning analogy, not a conversion into pristine MIDI data.
Production handoff
PRO includes RipLink AudioSuite for compatible Pro Tools versions and VST3/ARA integration for listed hosts such as Studio One 4, Cubase/Nuendo 11.0.30, Reaper 5.97 and Cakewalk 2019.05 or later. Confirm support for your current DAW and operating-system build at the official compatibility page.
Which one separates stems better?
No current independent, controlled Moises-versus-RipX benchmark establishes a universal winner. Results depend on the arrangement, source quality, model or mode, stereo processing and the instrument being isolated.
Rank #3
- The new generation of the artist's interface: Connect your mic to Scarlett's 4th Gen mic pres. Plug in your guitar. Fire up the included software. Start making your first big hit
- Studio-quality sound: With a huge 120dB dynamic range, the newest generation of Scarlett uses the same converters as Focusrite’s flagship interfaces, found in the world's biggest studios
- Never lose a great take: Scarlett 4th Gen's Auto Gain sets the perfect level for your mic or guitar, and Clip Safe prevents clipping, so you can focus on the music
- Find your signature sound: Air mode lifts vocals and guitars to the front of the mix, adding musical presence and rich harmonic drive to your recordings
- With Scarlett 4th Gen, you have all you need to record, mix and master your music: Includes industry-leading recording software and a full collection of record-making plugins
Tracks that commonly expose weaknesses
- Dense mixes where guitars, keys and vocals share frequency ranges
- Distorted guitars, chorused or doubled vocals and heavily compressed bass
- Drum overheads with reverb, delay or room sound
- Low-bitrate MP3 or streaming captures
- Extreme stereo widening, live crowd noise and room bleed
Listen for vocal bleed, cymbal damage, bass smearing, phase problems, warbling, metallic tails and lost transients. A stem can sound ugly in isolation yet recombine acceptably; conversely, a clean solo vocal may still be unusable for a full remix. RipX says its current system automatically uses its highest-quality ripping setting rather than an older quality/speed slider; that does not constitute an independent quality ranking.
A practical Moises practice workflow
- Upload audio you are authorized to use and choose the available separation option.
- Confirm or correct the detected key and BPM.
- Lower the target instrument, set a loop and enable the smart metronome if needed.
- Adjust speed or transpose the song without changing your performance setup.
- Review chords or lyrics, record your part and export the permitted mix or stems.
Moises’ export documentation lists MP3 and M4A, with WAV identified as a Premium/Pro feature in that help article. Mobile export options there are MP3 and M4A, and separated-track exports may not preserve every mixer adjustment. Check the current instructions at Moises’ export guide.
A practical RipX production workflow
- Import the source and run the ripping/separation process.
- Inspect the resulting layers and identify wrongly assigned notes or bleed.
- Move, mute or reassign problematic material and edit pitch or timing where required.
- Use PRO cleanup and manipulation tools to reduce artifacts or replace a sound.
- Export edited layers or send them through a compatible PRO DAW integration for mixing.
Menu names can change between builds, so use the current manual and trial before committing a project.
Mobile, desktop, cloud and offline requirements
Moises
Moises offers web, desktop and mobile clients. Its DAW integrations explicitly require an internet connection because they connect to a Moises account and online services. A desktop client therefore should not be assumed to process every feature fully locally; verify behavior for your plan and feature at the integration documentation.

Minimum specifications include a 2-core 2.5 GHz CPU, 8 GB RAM and 20 GB free disk space; 4 cores or better (or Apple Silicon) and 16 GB RAM are recommended. Compatible NVIDIA GPUs can accelerate ripping on Windows. RipX requires first activation online and a license check at least once every 15 launches, and a license may be installed on up to two computers owned by the registered user.

Moises
Moises confirms a free tier and paid subscriptions, but a complete current price table was not publicly visible without signing in. Older official FAQ material identified a limit of five uploads per month and two- or four-stem free options; treat those figures as time-sensitive and verify the live account because limits can vary by geography, platform and plan. Check the FAQ and billing pages before budgeting. Uploads, separation allowances, stem-generation credits and voice-conversion credits may be separate quotas.
RipX
The official purchase page listed regular prices of £99 GBP for RipX DAW and £198 GBP for RipX DAW PRO in August 2026. A 25% summer promotion shown as £74 and £148 stated an August 16, 2026 end date, so those sale prices should be treated as expired unless checkout says otherwise. Hit’n’Mix also advertises a 21-day trial, a subject-to-eligibility 50% education discount and a 14-day refund/deactivation policy. Confirm current terms at the purchase page.
Moises can cost less for occasional users who stay within the free allowance, while RipX’s one-time license can be better value for repeated desktop work over several years. They are different cost models, not directly equivalent subscriptions.
Best Value
- ✔️[High-fidelity sound quality, accurate sampling] The Synido 2x2 audio interface uses a high-quality independent audio chip to reduce recording latency, support 24-bit depth and 48kHz sampling rate, and ensure every detail is restored. Whether it is recording or live broadcasting, it can provide a clear and natural sound quality experience
- ✔️[Three monitoring modes, easy to switch] The audio interface provides three monitoring modes to meet different needs. In Stereo mode, independent left and right channels present the original input (such as a microphone or instrument), which is suitable for accurate recording. Mix mode can mix input audio and computer audio in real-time, which is suitable for live broadcast or recording, and is easy to adjust instantly. USB mode only monitors computer audio, which is suitable for post-editing or audio processing. Whether it is recording, live broadcast, or post-production, the three modes can be easily switched to make audio creation more efficient and professional
- ✔️[User-friendly design] The audio interface is intuitively designed, and equipped with three independent control areas, and the XLR interface supports 6.35mm and XLR microphones, which are compatible with various devices. The green, orange, and red LED lights display the volume level, helping you to grasp the volume status at any time and avoid distortion. Supports easy switching between Line In and instrument input, adapts to different devices, reduces interference and distortion, and does not need to adjust gain frequently, improving efficiency
- ✔️[Professional 48V phantom power] Synido audio interface is equipped with 48V phantom power switch and supports 48V dynamic microphone with excellent noise reduction performance, provides a highly sensitive recording experience, accurately picks up sound, and effectively reduces noise interference, ensuring clear and stable sound quality output
- ✔️[Lightweight and portable, plug and play, create at any time] The USB audio interface weighs only 300g and measures 14 x 11.5x 4.5 cm. It is compact and portable and can be taken anywhere anytime. Equipped with a 3.5mm to 6.35mm adapter and a USB-C to USB-A data cable, you can easily use it by directly connecting to your mobile phone or computer
Limitations and failure points
- Stem artifacts: Separation reconstructs sources from a finished mix; it cannot recover the original multitrack recording.
- RipX edition confusion: Current names are RipX DAW and RipX DAW PRO. Older tutorials may say DeepRemix, DeepCreate or DeepAudio; Hit’n’Mix says those features were consolidated into the current editions.
- Activation and host issues: RipX users should check RAM, disk space, DAW compatibility and activation status. Hit’n’Mix also documents audio-device conflicts and crashes associated with MSI Afterburner or RivaTuner at its support page.
- Export restrictions: Moises format, stem and allowance limits depend on platform and plan; exporting individual stems is not always the same as exporting the post-mix balance.
- Rights: Technical separation does not grant permission to upload, transform, release or monetize copyrighted music. Obtain the necessary rights from the owner or follow the relevant platform terms.
Which should you choose?
| Your priority | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Learn guitar, bass, vocals or drums | Moises |
| Practice on a phone or tablet | Moises |
| Karaoke, chords, lyrics, key and BPM | Moises |
| Quick vocal or drum reduction | Moises for convenience; test both on difficult songs |
| Move individual notes or phrases | RipX DAW |
| Repair bleed, artifacts or wrong assignments | RipX DAW PRO |
| Sound replacement or harmonic remixing | RipX DAW PRO |
| Compatible Pro Tools or VST3/ARA workflow | RipX DAW PRO |
| No recurring subscription | RipX DAW or PRO |
| Fastest low-commitment trial | Moises free tier, subject to current limits |
When using both makes sense
A hybrid workflow is practical: use Moises to identify BPM, key, chords and song sections and to make a quick rehearsal arrangement; export where your plan permits; then open the material in RipX when a part needs detailed repair, retuning, sound replacement or remix treatment. This is a workflow inference from their documented strengths, not an official cross-company integration.
