The prediction was right about the date, but the eight-phone list was never a confirmed launch lineup. MediaTek announced the Dimensity 9400+ on April 11, 2025, at its Dimensity Developer Conference (MDDC) in Shenzhen. Since then, some rumored models have been confirmed with the chip, while others were renamed, remain unverified, or should not be confused with phones using a different Dimensity processor.
What happened at MDDC 2025?
MDDC stands for MediaTek Dimensity Developer Conference. The 2025 conference was scheduled for April 11 in Shenzhen, China. When the original report appeared on March 14, the event date was known, but a Dimensity 9400+ announcement was still an expectation—not a confirmed agenda item. MediaTek did announce the chip on April 11, validating the launch-date prediction. The March report also named eight possible phones, based largely on tipster information. MediaTek’s launch announcement said the first phones would arrive during April 2025; it did not confirm all eight rumored models.
Dimensity 9400+: What changed?
The Dimensity 9400+ is an enhanced version of the Dimensity 9400, which launched in October 2024. The most straightforward difference is its faster prime CPU core. MediaTek also highlighted AI capabilities and longer-range direct Bluetooth connections. The company’s announcement describes the following hardware and features:

The March 2025 report’s description of an overclocked 9400 was broadly on the mark: the final peak frequency for the X925 core is 3.73 GHz, rather than the roughly 3.7 GHz anticipated. But the Plus is better described as an enhanced platform than as only a clock-speed bump. MediaTek’s AI and Bluetooth statements are manufacturer claims, not independent test results. The advertised 10 km Bluetooth range is conditional and should not be read as a guaranteed everyday connection distance.

For most buyers, the chip name alone cannot predict a phone’s sustained gaming performance, battery life, or camera quality. Cooling, battery capacity, software tuning, and the rest of the phone’s hardware matter. Nor does a higher peak CPU frequency guarantee that every user will notice a major difference from a Dimensity 9400 phone.
The eight phones on the original rumor list
The names below were candidates, not eight devices MediaTek had confirmed. Later evidence has strengthened some entries, but a similar name or shared chipset does not prove that a rumored model launched as expected.

Contemporaneous reporting identified OPPO’s Find X8s series and realme GT7 among early phones associated with the new chip. That does not make the GT7 a 9400+ device: the regional realme product page cited above specifies the 9400e. When the exact model or regional version matters, check the manufacturer’s specification page rather than relying on a family name or launch rumor. The OPPO distinction matters too: OPPO’s global Find X8 and Find X8 Pro materials name the standard Dimensity 9400, not the Plus.

Confirmed devices and regional availability
Among the clearest product-page confirmations in the available sources are the OPPO Find X8s+, Xiaomi 15T Pro, and OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra. These are not interchangeable buying options: OPPO’s cited page is for China, OnePlus’s is also a China-market page, and Xiaomi’s cited page is for Singapore. A product page in one market does not establish official sales, warranty coverage, or compatible configurations in another.

Before importing a China-market model, check carrier bands, warranty and repair options, return terms, ROM language, Google Play availability, and notification behavior. For any regional phone, verify the exact model’s chipset and local availability. A processor label cannot make an import a good purchase if the phone lacks reliable network support or local after-sales service.

- Verify the exact model and chipset. Match the full model and region to an official manufacturer specification page. Similar names can hide different chips.
- Check whether it is officially sold where you live. Local availability usually makes warranty, repairs, returns, and network compatibility easier to confirm.
- Assess the whole phone. Compare sustained gaming performance, cooling, battery capacity, charging, camera hardware, and software support—not just the processor’s maximum clock.
- For imports, check practical compatibility. Confirm supported network bands, ROM and language options, Google services, warranty, taxes, and the seller’s return policy.
For example, Xiaomi’s Singapore product page is direct evidence that the Xiaomi 15T Pro uses the Dimensity 9400+, but it does not guarantee the same availability or warranty in another country. OPPO’s Find X8s+ page confirms its chip while also signaling that the cited listing is for China. Choose by the exact phone you can buy and support locally, not by whether its name once appeared in a forecast.
