A standard Logitech Bluetooth mouse generally cannot be located on a map or made to ring through Logitech software. You can check whether it is still communicating with a nearby computer, but that is only a rough clue—not a location service. Start with the Bluetooth status check below, then search the places the mouse is most likely to have been left. If you attached a separate item tracker, use its app.
Can you track a Logitech Bluetooth mouse?
For ordinary Logitech Bluetooth mice, Logitech’s published support material covers pairing, connection troubleshooting and device management—not GPS, a last-known-location feature or a remote “play sound” command. Check the product page or manual for your exact model in case it has an unusual feature, but assume you need a separate tracker for location finding. Logitech’s Bluetooth guide explains how to connect compatible devices; it does not describe a mouse-locating service.
Bluetooth connectivity and item tracking are different things. The mouse uses Bluetooth to send input to a computer or tablet. A dedicated item tracker has its own finding feature, such as a speaker and a compatible network that can report an approximate location. A paired-device entry in your settings only means the computer remembers the mouse; it does not show where the mouse is now.

First, identify how the mouse was connected
Before interpreting the device list, work out which connection the mouse used:
- Bluetooth: The mouse paired directly with a computer, tablet or phone. No USB receiver is needed.
- USB receiver: Some Logitech wireless mice connect through a Logi Bolt or another receiver plugged into a computer. Finding the receiver does not mean the mouse is nearby, and the mouse may also support Bluetooth. Logitech describes the distinction between Bluetooth and receiver connections in its connection guide.
- Multiple devices: Some models have Easy-Switch buttons or channels for moving between paired devices. Not every Logitech mouse has this feature. If yours does, it may be set to another computer or tablet; check the model’s manual before changing channels or entering pairing mode.
Keep any receiver you find separate from your search for the mouse. A missing receiver can prevent a receiver-based connection, but it cannot locate the mouse.
Step 1: Check whether the mouse is connected
Leave the device you last used with the mouse powered on, turn on Bluetooth, and open its Bluetooth settings. If the mouse was paired with more than one device, check each one. Keep the computer or tablet with you as you search, rather than repeatedly moving between rooms without checking its status.

Windows 11
- Open Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
- Find the Logitech mouse in the device list and note whether it is connected, paired or unavailable.
These are the current menu labels in Logitech’s Bluetooth pairing instructions.
Mac
- Open Apple menu > System Settings > Bluetooth.
- Find the Logitech mouse and check whether it is connected.
A connected status can be a useful clue while searching, but macOS does not turn a conventional Logitech mouse into a Find My item.
Chromebook, iPhone, iPad and Android
- Chromebook: Open the status area, select Bluetooth, and manage Bluetooth devices.
- iPhone or iPad: Open Settings > Bluetooth and check the device under My Devices or the available-device list.
- Android: Open Settings > Bluetooth or Connected devices > Bluetooth; labels vary by manufacturer.
These menus report pairing or connection status, not physical coordinates. Logitech’s Bluetooth support covers pairing across Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, Android and iOS/iPadOS.

Step 2: Treat Bluetooth status as a rough clue
- Connected: The mouse is communicating with that device at the moment. Search the immediate area first, but do not assume it is on the same desk or even in the same room; walls, furniture and radio conditions affect the signal.
- Paired but disconnected: The computer remembers the mouse, but the mouse may be switched off, asleep, out of range, out of battery or connected on another channel or to another device.
- Not listed or unavailable: The battery may be depleted, Bluetooth may not be scanning properly, or the mouse may not be advertising for pairing. It could still be nearby and simply asleep or off.
- Available for pairing: The mouse is advertising for a connection, if the listing really is your device. That still does not give you a map location or reliable distance reading.
Do not use the Bluetooth list as a dependable hot-and-cold finder. A mouse may sleep to save power, and Bluetooth does not provide an ordinary settings menu with a precise distance meter. A light that is off is not proof the mouse is dead: Logitech notes that indicator lights may stop blinking or turn off after pairing to conserve power. See Logitech’s pairing and LED guidance.

If the mouse still appears connected, start in the room where the computer is. If not, a systematic physical search is more useful than repeatedly refreshing Bluetooth settings.
Desk and workstation
- Look under the desk and chair, behind the monitor, laptop, keyboard and docking station, and in the gap between the desk and wall.
- Check desk drawers, cable trays, under the desk mat, beneath papers and near charging cables.
- Inspect laptop sleeves, work bags and the place where you usually store the mouse.
Bags, clothing and soft furnishings
- Check every compartment in your backpack, laptop bag, travel case and handbag—not just the main compartment.
- Check jacket and trouser pockets, hoodie pouches and laundry baskets.
- Search couch cushions and under the couch, plus beds, blankets, pillows and bedside tables.
Floor, furniture and vehicle
- Use a flashlight held low and parallel to the floor. Search under furniture from more than one side; a dark mouse can blend into shadows.
- Check between books, folders and stacked boxes, as well as under cabinets and near furniture edges.
- If you travelled recently, inspect the vehicle, seat gaps and the bag you carried.
Retrace the last-use route
Think back to the last time you used the mouse, then check every place you went afterward: a meeting room, classroom, café, kitchen counter, dining table or shared desk. Ask housemates or colleagues whether they moved it while cleaning or borrowing the computer. In a shared or public space, contact that venue’s lost-and-found service.

Step 4: If the mouse will not appear, troubleshoot without making recovery harder
- Check the power switch. If you find the mouse, confirm it is on.
- Check the battery. Recharge the mouse or replace its battery if possible. A dead battery prevents a Bluetooth check.
- Check the channel. If the model has Easy-Switch, verify which paired device or channel is active. Follow the model-specific manual: button behavior varies, and a press or hold can change channels or start pairing.
- Check other paired devices. It may still be communicating with a second computer or tablet.
- Use pairing mode only when needed. Logitech’s general instructions describe holding the Connect/Bluetooth button until the LED blinks rapidly, but exact controls vary by model. Do not hold buttons or start a new pairing process unnecessarily while the goal is to find the mouse; consult the manual for your model.
- Keep the existing pairing for now. Repeatedly unpairing or removing the device will not reveal its location and may create extra work when you recover it. Use a spare mouse or trackpad in the meantime.
If the computer is older and Bluetooth pairing is failing even when the mouse is in hand, check compatibility as well as power: Logitech notes that some devices require Bluetooth Low Energy support and identifies Windows 7 as incompatible with its BLE devices in its Bluetooth troubleshooting guidance.

Check the last venue you visited and ask about its lost property process. If the mouse was last used at work or school, ask coworkers, reception or facilities staff. If it was carried in a vehicle or bag, check those again before replacing it. A conventional mouse that is powered off, out of battery or outside Bluetooth range cannot report where it is.

When you have exhausted those checks, a replacement may be more practical. Logitech’s mouse catalogue can help you compare models, but a newer mouse does not automatically gain location tracking. If finding it later matters, plan for a separate tracker.

Can an AirTag or another tracker help next time?
Yes—if you attach a separate tracker to the mouse, its pouch or its carrying case. An AirTag is not GPS and is not built into a Logitech mouse: it uses Bluetooth and Apple’s Find My network to report an approximate location when participating Apple devices detect it. See Apple’s AirTag overview.
Apple announced its second-generation AirTag on January 26, 2026, at U.S. prices of $29 for one or $99 for four. Apple says it requires a compatible iPhone with iOS 26 or later, or an iPad with iPadOS 26 or later, plus an Apple Account. For a mouse, a tracker in a dedicated pouch or securely fitted holder may be more practical than attaching it directly to the shell. Choose an attachment that will not come loose or add unwanted bulk, and check fit for your specific mouse. If the tracker separates from the mouse, its location no longer tells you where the mouse is. Network-assisted location also depends on nearby participating devices, so no tracker guarantees recovery. Make the next loss less likely
- Give the mouse a dedicated, brightly colored pouch or storage spot.
- Keep a USB receiver with the mouse if your setup uses one; label the pouch so the two do not get separated.
- Attach a separate tracker to the pouch or case if you regularly travel with the mouse.
- Use a distinctive skin or shell color so the mouse is easier to spot among dark furniture and bags.
- Keep a spare wired mouse available so a missing peripheral does not interrupt your work.
