Use SVG for a logo that must stay sharp at different sizes, PNG for a ready-to-place image, PDF when a printer needs a dependable proof, and EPS only when a supplier specifically requests it. SVG and EPS are vector formats: they describe shapes and paths, so resizing does not create pixel blur. PNG is raster: it stores pixels and can look soft when enlarged. PDF is a container that can preserve vector artwork or contain raster images, so the file alone does not guarantee that the logo is vector.
What Each Logo Format Is For
| Format | Type | Best Use | What To Watch |
|---|---|---|---|
| SVG | Vector | Websites, apps, scalable icons and editable design work | Some upload systems accept only image formats; check the destination before exporting. |
| PNG | Raster | Website images, social graphics, presentations and transparent overlays | Enlarging beyond the exported pixel dimensions can make edges look soft. |
| EPS | Vector | Print and sign suppliers that still specify EPS | Use it when the production partner asks for EPS; many modern workflows use SVG or PDF instead. |
| Container; can hold vector or raster artwork | Print hand-off, proofing and sharing a fixed page | Confirm that the PDF contains vector paths if sharp scaling is required. |
Vector Versus Raster For A Budget Phone Brand
A vector logo is built from mathematical paths. The same artwork can be used as a small favicon, a phone wallpaper element or a large shop sign without redrawing it. SVG is usually the easiest vector file to place on a website because it remains scalable and can be edited in a vector editor.
A raster logo is a grid of colored pixels. PNG is useful when an app, website builder or social service asks for an image upload, especially when you need a transparent background. Export a size close to the largest display size you need instead of repeatedly enlarging a small PNG.
PDF does not automatically mean raster or vector. A PDF exported from vector paths keeps those paths; a PDF made from a screenshot is still pixel-based. Ask the print shop whether it needs outlined text, embedded images or a specific PDF profile before sending the file.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Which File Should You Send?
- Website logo: Send SVG when the site accepts it. Keep a transparent PNG available for systems that reject SVG.
- App icon or social post: Use a PNG exported at the platform’s required pixel size. The exact limit depends on that platform, so check its current upload rules.
- Printer or signmaker: Send the original SVG or a PDF that contains vector paths. Provide EPS only when the supplier requests it.
- Sharing a review copy: Use PDF for a fixed-page proof, and keep the editable vector master separately.
- Converting an old image logo: Start with the highest-resolution PNG or JPEG available; automatic tracing may require cleanup around text and small details.
Tools That Provide The Formats
Modulify AI Logo Maker
Modulify states that one unlocked logo downloads as full-resolution PNG plus SVG, PDF and EPS. It offers one free logo a day with no card needed, then charges $19 once when you want to take the files away. This is the clearest single-package option when a budget user needs both web files and the four formats a print supplier may request. The free daily allowance and the $19 charge are the terms stated by the vendor; check its site for any changes.
FlashLogo
FlashLogo provides full-resolution PNG and SVG downloads without watermarks, including a version without a background. It also states that you receive full ownership of a purchased logo. That combination covers a transparent web image and a scalable master, but the listed facts do not establish EPS or PDF export, so check the current download options if a printer asks for either.

Affinity Designer
Affinity Designer is described as a free graphic design studio with Image Trace for turning a flat image into editable vectors, a Shape Builder, and raster brush textures. It is suited to rebuilding a logo as editable vector artwork after tracing. The supplied product information does not specify every export format or device requirement, so check its current documentation for SVG, EPS or PDF export before committing to a production workflow.
Quick Recap
A Simple Export Checklist
- Keep one editable vector master, preferably SVG when your tools support it.
- Export a transparent PNG for sites and apps that require pixels.
- Open the PDF at high zoom and confirm that edges stay clean; ask the printer whether it contains vector paths.
- Export EPS only when the print or sign supplier names EPS in its specification.
- Check ownership, attribution and other licence terms before using downloaded icons, brand logos or generated artwork commercially.
- Test the files on the actual low-cost phone, website builder or upload form you will use, because accepted formats and pixel limits vary.
Format Limits To Remember
- SVG is scalable, but an upload service may block it for security or workflow reasons.
- PNG preserves a fixed pixel grid; a transparent background does not make it vector.
- EPS support depends on the receiving supplier and the software opening it.
- PDF can combine vector and raster elements, so inspect the source artwork rather than trusting the extension.
- Downloaded or generated artwork can carry ownership or attribution conditions. The specific tools above state different terms, so read those terms before publishing a logo.
