The LG K11 Plus is a genuine 2018 entry-level Android phone, also sold as the LG K11+ and, in some markets, related to the LG K10+ name. It typically has a 5.3-inch HD display, MediaTek MT6750 processor, 13-megapixel rear camera, microSD expansion and a fingerprint reader. However, RAM, storage, selfie camera, battery capacity, SIM support and LTE bands vary by region.
In 2026, it is best considered only as a very inexpensive used backup or basic phone. Its old Android software, limited memory, aging battery, Micro-USB port and uncertain carrier compatibility make it a poor choice for most people as a primary smartphone.
What is the LG K11 Plus?
LG introduced the K11 Plus in 2018 as a low-cost K-series smartphone. Product names vary by market: listings may call it the LG K11 Plus, LG K11+ or use a regional model number beginning with LM-X410.

The naming is especially confusing because LG’s Hong Kong announcement says the phone introduced in the Mobile World Congress 2018 context was called the LG K10+ in some markets. That does not mean every phone advertised as a K10+ is interchangeable with a K11 Plus. Check the model number rather than relying on the seller’s title.

LG’s regional specifications show that there is no single universal K11 Plus configuration. For example, LG lists a 2GB RAM model with a 5-megapixel front camera in Chile, while its Hong Kong launch material lists 3GB RAM and an 8-megapixel front camera.

Model numbers and regional variants
The model number is more useful than the retail name. Reported LM-X410 variants include:

This regional mapping is a guide, not a substitute for the phone’s label or original packaging. The same family can differ in LTE bands, SIM configuration, memory and cameras.
- On a working phone, open Settings → System → About phone.
- Find the model number beginning with LM-X410.
- If it will not boot, inspect the rear label, SIM tray or box.
- Compare the exact model’s LTE bands with the intended carrier before buying.
LG’s model listings are useful for identifying reported variants, but the physical device remains the final reference.
Display and everyday performance
The 5.3-inch, 16:9 HD screen is compact by modern standards. It can suit someone who prefers a smaller phone, but 1,280 × 720 resolution is clearly behind current smartphones. Do not infer flagship-level brightness, viewing angles or panel quality from LG’s launch-era audiovisual marketing.

The MT6750 was an entry-level platform even when the phone launched. With 2GB or 3GB of RAM, it is suitable for calls, messaging, light web browsing, music and older games. Modern websites, navigation, camera processing and multitasking can feel slow, especially on the 2GB model or a phone with worn storage and a cluttered installation.

In practical terms, treat the K11 Plus as a basic-use device, not a performance phone.
Storage and microSD support
LG documentation confirms 32GB versions, while third-party listings also report 16GB models. Android and preinstalled applications consume part of that capacity, so a “32GB” listing does not provide 32GB of usable space.
Check Settings → Storage on the actual phone. The device supports microSD expansion, and LG Chile lists cards up to 2TB. That stated maximum should not be treated as a guarantee that every card, filesystem or regional variant will work perfectly.
A microSD card is useful for photos, music and videos. It will not make the processor faster, restore failing internal storage or automatically allow the card to be adopted as internal storage. Confirm the exact model before depending on that feature.

The common rear camera is a 13MP unit with phase-detection autofocus. The front camera is either 5MP or 8MP depending on region. LG also promoted portrait mode and wide-angle selfie features on some regional pages.

Megapixel counts do not make the K11 Plus competitive with modern phones. Results depend on light, focus, image processing and the condition of a used camera lens. Expect the most limitations in low light and video rather than assuming that the 13MP specification guarantees good current-day photography.
LG included DTS:X audio processing. The surround effect is intended for wired or Bluetooth earphones; it is not a guarantee of exceptional built-in speaker quality. Check whether the particular handset has the expected headphone hardware and test audio before purchase.
LG’s Hong Kong announcement says the phone passed eight selected MIL-STD tests involving conditions such as temperature, shock, drop and humidity. This is not an IP water-resistance rating and does not make the phone waterproof or indestructible. A second-hand phone may also have suffered damage that removes any original durability advantage.

Published capacities range from about 2,880mAh to 3,000mAh, with LG listing an integrated 3,000mAh battery for several versions. The more important issue in 2026 is the battery’s age and condition.
Ask whether the battery has been replaced and check for rapid drain, overheating, swelling and unexpected shutdowns. Test charging with more than one cable if possible. LG’s Chile specification identifies a Micro-USB 2.0 port, so do not expect USB-C, wireless charging or modern fast-charging behavior.
Software and updates
The Hong Kong launch specification lists Android 7.1.2 Nougat, while the Chile page lists Android Oreo. There is no single universal final Android version for every K11 Plus.
Check the installed version at Settings → System → About phone → Android version. Old Android software can cause problems with app installation, browsers, banking, authentication and security-sensitive services. Do not assume that a used K11 Plus receives current security updates or remains officially supported.
Rooting or installing a custom ROM is not a universal solution. The procedure depends on the exact LM-X410 variant, bootloader status, regional firmware and available recovery files. Flashing the wrong firmware can disable the phone, so advanced users should identify the model precisely before attempting it.
Carrier compatibility: check before paying
The K11 Plus is a 4G phone, but 4G support is not universal across all models. LG’s Hong Kong specifications list LTE bands 1, 3, 5, 7, 8 and 28, plus TDD bands 38 and 40. Those bands must not be generalized to every LM-X410 variant.
A phone can accept a SIM and still fail to support a carrier’s LTE bands, voice-over-LTE requirements or activation policy. “Unlocked” in a listing does not prove compatibility.
Before purchase, verify:
- the exact LM-X410 model;
- the model’s LTE bands;
- the carrier’s activation and VoLTE requirements;
- whether the phone is single- or dual-SIM;
- the SIM size and return policy.
Do not assume a Latin American, Hong Kong or other regional model will work fully on a particular US carrier without model-specific confirmation.
Is the LG K11 Plus worth buying in 2026?
Only in a narrow set of circumstances. It can make sense as a very cheap backup, basic calling and messaging phone, offline music or FM-radio device, collector’s item, or replacement for someone who already owns the same model. It should be fully functional, carrier-compatible and priced low enough to account for a possible battery replacement.

It is a poor choice for long-term primary use, mobile banking, modern gaming, heavy social-media multitasking, current photography, dependable security updates or reliable 5G and modern LTE/VoLTE support. A newer entry-level Android phone will generally offer better app compatibility, USB-C, faster hardware, more storage and a healthier battery.
Used-buying checklist
- Confirm the identity: Require a photo of Settings → System → About phone or the physical label showing an LM-X410 model.
- Check memory and storage: Verify RAM and available internal storage rather than trusting the listing title.
- Test the battery: Look for swelling, rapid drain, overheating and shutdowns under load.
- Inspect the port: Test charging, data transfer, cable fit and charging from different angles.
- Test the screen: Look for dead zones, cracks, discoloration and touch problems.
- Test cameras and fingerprint reader: Check focus, flash, front camera, rear camera and biometric unlock.
- Test the network: Insert a SIM and confirm calls, mobile data and, where required, VoLTE.
- Check the Google account: The previous owner must remove their account and reset the phone properly. Otherwise, Factory Reset Protection may block setup.
- Test essential apps: Install the apps you actually need before relying on the phone.
- Inspect physical wear: Examine the frame, buttons, camera glass, back cover and charging port for impact or liquid damage.
LG K11 Plus vs K10+ and K12+
The K10+ name is partly a regional naming issue: LG explicitly used that name for the related product in some markets. Therefore, “K10+” and “K11 Plus” listings should not be treated as identical without checking the model number.
The K12+ is a separate same-family model, not simply another spelling of the K11 Plus. A comparison should focus on the exact regional model, Android version, processor, RAM, battery condition, LTE bands and port. Because used-market prices and configurations vary, a K12+ is not automatically the better purchase; compare the actual devices and their software condition rather than the name alone.

Bottom line
The LG K11 Plus is a real 2018 LG phone, but the name hides meaningful regional differences. Identify the exact LM-X410 variant, verify carrier compatibility and inspect the battery before buying. In 2026, choose it only when it is exceptionally inexpensive and your needs are limited; otherwise, a newer budget phone is the safer and more practical option.
