NordVPN is the better default choice if you value independently examined privacy claims, published infrastructure, more protocols and platforms, and transparent pricing. LetsVPN is worth considering if you mainly want a simple app, a short advertised trial, and minimal configuration. The comparison is not perfectly even: NordVPN publishes substantially more technical and assurance evidence, while LetsVPN leaves important questions—such as protocols, server coverage, renewal pricing, and simultaneous connections—unanswered in the public pages reviewed.

What each service is
Both are consumer VPNs: they encrypt traffic between your device and a VPN server and replace the public IP address visible to websites. LetsVPN focuses on travel, cafés, airports, remote work, changing networks and easy device switching. Its site lists Windows, macOS, Android and iOS and advertises coverage for more than 1,000 apps, a first-party marketing claim rather than an independently measured result (LetsVPN).
NordVPN is positioned as a broader privacy and security platform. Its Basic tier is the closest like-for-like VPN comparison; Complete and Prime add products such as password management, cloud storage, monitoring and additional threat or identity features (NordVPN plans). Those bundles are useful only if you would otherwise buy or use them.

Privacy and safety: the important difference is evidence
A VPN is a trust intermediary, not an anonymity switch. It can reduce what an ISP, hotel or café network sees, but it cannot stop phishing, malware, stolen passwords, compromised accounts or unsafe websites. Evaluate the provider’s data practices, audits, jurisdiction, app security, kill switch and DNS-leak protection—not just the word “encrypted.”

NordVPN’s public case
NordVPN says its no-logs practices have undergone six independent examinations: the first two by PwC Switzerland and later reviews by Deloitte, including a 2025 review. It also identifies Panama as its base and publishes infrastructure claims through its no-logs page and Trust Center. These are a stronger publicly documented assurance history, not a guarantee that a provider can never hold account, billing or operational records.
What LetsVPN discloses
LetsVPN’s privacy policy, updated May 26, 2026, says it may process account and contact details, device and client information, subscription and order data, connection and technical information, diagnostics, and support feedback. It also describes sharing with processors such as payment channels, app stores, cloud and email services, support tools and security providers (LetsVPN privacy policy).

That wording does not automatically mean LetsVPN records browsing history. Activity logs, connection metadata, crash diagnostics, billing records and support tickets are different categories. However, the public material reviewed does not provide a comparable independent no-logs audit, detailed protocol specification or infrastructure-security program. The defensible conclusion is that NordVPN has the stronger documented privacy case—not that LetsVPN is proven unsafe or that it logs everything.

NordVPN reports more than 8,800 servers across 224 locations, RAM-only servers, 10-Gbps infrastructure and specialty options including Double VPN and Onion Over VPN (Trust Center). It documents NordLynx (based on WireGuard), OpenVPN, NordWhisper and IKEv2/IPsec. NordWhisper is intended for restrictive office, campus, hotel, airport or conference networks, although NordVPN notes that it is incompatible with Meshnet, Dedicated IP, obfuscated servers and Onion Over VPN servers (protocol guidance).

LetsVPN’s public pages discuss routes, node status and changing network conditions but do not publish a comparable server count, location list or clearly identified tunnelling protocols. That opacity limits independent evaluation; it is not proof of weak encryption. Server count also does not prove speed. Performance depends on your ISP, distance, congestion, protocol, device and time of day. Without a controlled test using the same location, device, protocol and dates, neither service should be called “fastest” or guaranteed to connect everywhere.
Devices and features
LetsVPN lists Windows, macOS, Android and iOS. Its homepage says it supports multiple devices, but the exact simultaneous-connection limit and plan restrictions were not publicly verified in the reviewed pages.

NordVPN lists Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, Chrome, Firefox and Edge extensions, Android TV, tvOS, Fire TV, consoles, Chromebook, Raspberry Pi and other categories (download page). Its current pricing comparison specifies 10 simultaneous connections. NordVPN also documents an automatic kill switch and DNS-leak protection (feature documentation).
For public Wi-Fi, either can be useful: connect before entering sensitive information, confirm the app shows an active connection, enable the kill switch where available, use HTTPS and multifactor authentication, and keep the device updated. A VPN still cannot detect every fake login page or protect a device that is already infected.

Streaming, banking and blocked networks
Do not buy either service on a promise that it will unblock every streaming platform. Services block VPN addresses, results vary by country, server and date, and an app may behave differently from a browser or smart TV. LetsVPN itself says results depend on the local network, region, node status and target-service policy (product page). NordVPN’s larger published network may provide more alternatives, but that is not a universal guarantee. VPN use can also trigger CAPTCHAs, fraud checks or login alerts at banks and other sensitive services, and changing regions may conflict with a platform’s terms.
Ease of use and support
LetsVPN’s apparent advantage is a narrower, simpler experience: its help material covers connection failures, slow speeds, account issues, trials, payments and platform-specific troubleshooting (help center). NordVPN also follows a mainstream flow—subscribe, install, choose a server and connect—and advertises 24/7 chat and email support. Documentation availability is verifiable; response speed and real-world usability require a reproducible test, so this article does not declare a hands-on winner.
Price and subscription risk
On NordVPN’s U.S. pricing page observed August 18, 2026, promotional offers included Basic at $3.49 per month equivalent for a two-year term (charged as $94.23 for the first 27 months, renewing at $139.08 per year), $5.49 per month equivalent for one year, and $14.99 monthly. Complete was listed at $4.49 equivalent for two years and $19.99 monthly; Prime at $7.49 equivalent and $29.99 monthly. Renewal prices were shown as $219.48 per year for Complete and $296.28 for Prime. Prices, taxes, promotions and availability vary by country and can change; check the checkout total. LetsVPN’s site references a 72-hour trial but the reviewed pages did not expose a comparable U.S. price, renewal schedule, exact device limit or clearly stated refund policy. Before subscribing, verify whether a payment method is required, whether the trial auto-renews, the renewal amount, regional eligibility and whether Apple, Google or another processor controls cancellation and refunds.
Who should choose which?
- Choose NordVPN if privacy documentation, a broad published network, Linux/TV/browser support, specialty servers, protocols and clear renewal pricing matter most.
- Consider LetsVPN if you want a straightforward app on Windows, macOS, Android or iOS and the advertised short trial lets you test your own networks before committing.
- Choose NordVPN Basic if you want only a VPN; pay for Complete or Prime only when their bundled tools are genuinely useful.
- Do not choose solely on a “cheapest” claim: LetsVPN’s comparable price was not publicly verified, and NordVPN’s introductory equivalent is not its renewal cost.
A practical test checklist
- Test home Wi-Fi and cellular data.
- Try a captive-portal network if you travel.
- Check the kill switch by briefly changing networks.
- Use your actual work, banking and streaming services.
- Test every intended phone, computer, tablet or TV.
- Record latency, video calls and reconnection behavior rather than relying on “fast” claims.
- Write down the renewal date and price.
- Confirm how cancellation and refunds work before the trial or guarantee expires.
Bottom line
NordVPN is the safer recommendation when “safer” means a stronger, publicly documented privacy and security case, broader platform support and clearer commercial terms. LetsVPN can be a reasonable convenience-first option, particularly if its trial works on your devices and networks, but buyers must accept less public evidence about protocols, infrastructure, audits, pricing and connection limits. That evidence gap—not proof of wrongdoing—is the central difference between them.
