“Free with ads,” “included with a paid subscription,” and “available during a free trial” are different offers. Only the first is free in the ordinary sense, and even it may not remain available.

Therefore, a headline published on August 17, 2025 could reasonably use “63 years later” as a rounded promotional phrase, but it was not yet the precise 63rd anniversary. In September 2026, the film is nearly 64 years old.
Verdict
The Longest Day is worth watching if you enjoy classic war cinema, D-Day history, and sprawling international casts. Its scale, black-and-white presentation, and historical subject remain compelling, though its three-hour runtime and deliberate pacing reflect 1960s epic filmmaking.
As for the “free to watch” promise: it was reported as a free, ad-supported YouTube stream in 2025, but the latest supplied U.S. tracker check did not show a free option.
