The 2026 Italian Open took place at Rome’s Foro Italico from May 5 to 17 for the women’s main draw and May 6 to 17 for the men’s. Emma Raducanu withdrew before the women’s tournament, so she had no opponent and played no matches in Rome. Elina Svitolina won the women’s singles title; Carlos Alcaraz won the men’s.

What happened to Emma Raducanu?
Raducanu was included on the entry list, but withdrew before the 2026 Italian Open main draw. She therefore did not play in Rome and had no opponent. Reports or search snippets naming a Raducanu matchup refer to an earlier or superseded draw, not the final tournament field. The LTA’s draw update confirmed her withdrawal. Read the LTA’s update.
Dates and schedule
The women’s main draw began Tuesday, May 5, while the men’s main draw began Wednesday, May 6. The ITF lists May 4–17 for the wider women’s event, which includes qualifying; this is why some listings show an earlier start than the WTA main-draw dates. Both finals were scheduled for the weekend of May 16–17.

The LTA’s preview listed planned day sessions from 10:00 BST and evening sessions from 18:00 BST. Those were session start times, not guaranteed start times for any particular match. Court assignments and match order can change; for live event schedules, consult the official WTA order of play.
Draw and British players
The women’s singles draw included top seeds Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, Coco Gauff, Iga Swiatek and Jessica Pegula. Gauff reached the final, where she lost to eventual champion Svitolina. Among the British players identified in the LTA draw update, Cam Norrie was seeded 17th and received a first-round bye. Jacob Fearnley was drawn against Giovanni Mpetshi Pericard, and Katie Boulter against Eva Lys. Boulter’s potential route included a possible second-round meeting with 15th seed Naomi Osaka and a possible third-round match against 19th seed Diana Shnaider. Those were conditional draw possibilities, not guaranteed fixtures.

How to watch the Italian Open in the UK
The LTA identified Sky Sports and NOW as the live UK viewing options for the 2026 tournament. This is UK-specific rights information; it should not be taken as a guide to broadcasters in the United States or other countries. The 2026 event has finished, so these services no longer provide live coverage of that tournament.
At prices shown in August 2026, NOW listed a Sports Day Membership at £14.99 for 24 hours and a Sports Month Membership at £34.99 per month. Membership provides access to Sky Sports channels, including Sky Sports Tennis, and selected coverage may be available through Sky Sports+. A day pass may suit a single day of viewing; a monthly option covers longer viewing but costs more. Check the event and channel schedule before buying, because specific match availability, offers and prices can change. NOW says its service works on selected TVs, phones, computers and game consoles, and there is no standard free trial for Sports Month Membership. 2026 champions
Elina Svitolina defeated Coco Gauff to win the women’s singles title. Carlos Alcaraz defeated Jannik Sinner to claim the men’s title. The women’s result is listed on the WTA’s official tournament page; the men’s event details and results are available from the ATP.
