The July 2026 HyperOS Launcher update is best understood as a stability and compatibility release—not a confirmed, universal visual redesign. The listed Xiaomi System Launcher build, RELEASE-7.50.06.2523-07151436, is about 24.25 MB and was listed on July 31. Xiaomi has not published a complete feature changelog for that package, so claims about new blur effects, redesigned folders, or stacked recent apps should be treated as unconfirmed for this specific update.
Which July launcher update is this?
The stock Xiaomi System Launcher package is commonly identified as com.miui.home. A package listing records the July build as RELEASE-7.50.06.2523-07151436, version code 750062523, with a size of approximately 24.25 MB. These are listing details, not a promise that every Xiaomi, Redmi, or POCO phone receives the same package. The package listing also shows a newer build, RELEASE-7.50.06.2534-07201724, dated August 5, 2026; the July build was therefore no longer the newest listed version by August 16.
POCO devices may use POCO Launcher branding and a related but distinct package or build identifier. POCO reporting gives the July build’s ending identifier as 07151437, rather than 07151436. Do not assume the two identifiers are interchangeable: use the update offered for your device and ROM. POCO’s 7.50 branch coverage describes a move from the 6.01 branch and emphasizes stability, but a branch-number jump alone does not establish a user-visible redesign.

What the July update is known to improve
The clearest reported purpose of the 7.50 branch is stability and compatibility with newer HyperOS builds and supported hardware. The available information does not provide a comprehensive Xiaomi-published changelog for the July 31 package, so it is not possible to verify a full list of changes or promise a speed improvement.

There is a relevant earlier July package: RELEASE-7.50.06.2372-06261924, listed on July 15. Its package notes include a fix for recent-task layouts becoming disordered after changing screen orientation. That is useful context for the branch’s maintenance work, but it is a different build and should not be presented as a specific fix confirmed in the later July 31 package. The July 15 package listing documents that earlier note.
POCO coverage says its official changelog focused on improved stability. It also reports that the update blocked an unofficial iOS-style recent-apps customization trick. That may matter if you rely on a workaround, but it is not evidence that Xiaomi officially added a new recent-apps design. An update can remove a customization even when its published purpose is maintenance.

HyperOS 3 features are not automatically July launcher features
Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 materials describe a redesigned home screen, new icons, more versatile widgets, refined animations, and other system-level changes. Those are claims about HyperOS 3 and its supported devices—not proof that every phone installing the July Launcher APK receives every advertised effect.

A launcher APK supplies only one part of the interface; System UI, the Android framework, Themes, other system apps, device configuration, and sometimes regional availability can determine what appears.

That distinction explains why updating the launcher alone may not restore a missing feature such as the leftmost App Vault or “-1” screen. A community report describes that limitation, but it is anecdotal rather than an official compatibility statement. The report illustrates why launcher version and system-feature availability are not the same thing.
Are blur, redesigned folders, and stacked recents included?

A June report about RELEASE-7.00.11.7643-06051136-R associated that different package with blur, folder customization, and launcher architecture changes. It is not evidence that those changes are included in the July 7.50 build. That report concerns another package and branch. Screenshots or user reports of a visual effect can also come from a different ROM, device, region, beta, or modified launcher.

Check your launcher version and update safely
- Open Settings and search for System app updater. If your device has that section, open it and look for System Launcher, HyperOS Launcher, or POCO Launcher.
- If the updater does not show the version, try Settings → Apps → Manage apps, then open the launcher’s app-info page. Labels and menu paths vary by device, region, and HyperOS version, so Settings search is the simplest fallback.
- Install the update through the built-in updater or another official system-app channel when it is offered. If it is not offered, connect to a reliable network, restart the phone, check again, and look for a pending HyperOS system update. Make sure there is adequate storage.
- If no update appears, it may be staged or limited by your model, ROM, or region. Waiting is safer than forcing a package intended for another device.
Avoid clearing launcher data as a routine troubleshooting step: it can reset your home-screen layout and launcher preferences. If the update causes trouble, first restart the phone. On devices that allow it, the launcher’s app-info page may offer an option to uninstall updates and return to the system version. Back up or record your layout before making changes.
Should you sideload the APK?
For most people—especially on a daily-use phone—the built-in updater is the better choice. A third-party mirror may host a Xiaomi-signed package, but the signature does not prove the file is suitable for your particular model, Android version, architecture, or ROM branch. For example, a mirror listing for the earlier July package identifies a Xiaomi signature and an arm64 Android 14+ variant; that does not establish compatibility with every Xiaomi, Redmi, or POCO phone.

A mismatched package may fail to install because of an architecture, Android-version, signature, regional, or package conflict. Even an installable package can cause crashes, broken gestures, missing widgets, layout resets, or problems with recent apps. Before manual installation, confirm the exact device and ROM compatibility, back up your home-screen arrangement, and understand how to roll back. Do not remove the system launcher with root tools or other aggressive methods.
Should you install the July update?
- Install through the official updater if your phone offers the update and you want maintenance or compatibility improvements.
- Wait if your phone is stable and you would install only for a dramatic visual overhaul; the July package’s available evidence does not promise one.
- Be cautious if you depend on an unofficial recent-apps modification or other launcher workaround, since updates can disable it.
- Avoid casual sideloading unless you can verify the package against your specific device and have a recovery plan.
The practical expectation is modest: the July 2026 Launcher update belongs to a stability-oriented branch, while the headline HyperOS 3 visuals and other reported effects remain subject to their own package, system version, and device support.
