Verdict: The Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro is still a compelling luxury fitness watch in 2026 if you want premium materials, a large AMOLED display, extensive health and workout tracking, and unusually long battery life. It is not a full Apple Watch or Wear OS replacement: there is no SIM or eSIM, the app ecosystem is limited, iPhone functionality is reduced, and features such as ECG, NFC and payments vary by region.
The “ankle monitor” description is an appearance critique, not a literal usability verdict. The 46.6mm titanium model is beautifully made but large, thick and conspicuous. Buy it for endurance, design and fitness—not for cellular independence, rich messaging or broad smartwatch apps.

The GT 3 Pro’s materials are not merely cosmetic marketing. The titanium model combines a titanium case with sapphire glass, a pairing that feels substantially more luxurious than the plastic construction common on fitness watches. The rotating crown and physical button reinforce the impression that this is a conventional watch with smart functions rather than a small phone strapped to the wrist.
#1 Best Overall

Make and receive calls directly from your wrist, sync up to 30 contacts for quick access, control music playback, and send quick replies while working, commuting, cooking, or exercising without constantly checking your phone.
- 13-Day Battery Life: Enjoy up to 13 days of battery life on the smartwatch with just 2.5 hours charging time for daily use. Designed for work, workouts, travel, and busy schedules, CMF Watch 3 Pro delivers reliable power for music playback, quick replies, calls, and everyday activity tracking without frequent charging interruptions.
- AMOLED Display & Smart Lifestyle Sync: Featuring a vibrant AMOLED display, this smartwatch for Android and iPhone delivers clear visibility for health data, messages, and workouts indoors or outdoors. Seamlessly sync with Apple Health, Google Fit, and Strava to manage fitness tracking, wellness insights, and daily activity data in one connected ecosystem.
Its large 1.43-inch screen also makes maps, workout data and notifications easy to read. The trade-off is wearability. At 46.6mm wide and approximately 10.9mm thick, the titanium version can dominate a smaller wrist. Add a metal bracelet and it becomes formal and heavy; even the lighter case-only weight of about 54g is substantial before the strap is fitted.
That is the source of the “ankle monitor” joke. The watch looks more like a piece of equipment than discreet jewellery. Large-wristed users may find the size reassuring and premium, while smaller-wristed users should try it on before purchasing—especially if they intend to wear it overnight for sleep tracking.
Sapphire glass is highly scratch-resistant compared with ordinary strengthened glass, but it is not indestructible. Premium materials improve durability and feel; they do not eliminate the possibility of impact damage or make a large watch comfortable for everyone.

The 1.43-inch AMOLED panel is one of the watch’s strongest everyday features. AMOLED technology provides vivid colour, deep blacks and strong contrast, while the large circular layout suits both traditional watch faces and data-heavy workout screens.
Navigation combines touch gestures with a rotating crown and physical function button. The crown is particularly useful when hands are wet, sweaty or wearing gloves, and gives the interface a more watch-like character than a touchscreen-only fitness tracker. Always-on display is available, but it increases power consumption and weakens the battery advantage.
Watch-face selection and customisation are handled through Huawei’s ecosystem, with availability varying by region. The hardware dates from 2022, so buyers should not assume that every current interface label, watch face or app behaves exactly as it did in launch reviews.
Health tracking: broad coverage, careful interpretation required
The watch includes optical heart-rate monitoring, blood-oxygen measurement, sleep tracking, stress monitoring, skin-temperature measurement, breathing exercises and menstrual-cycle tracking. Its listed sensors include optical heart rate, accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, barometer and temperature sensors.

In supported markets, the package also includes ECG and arterial-stiffness detection. Those features are not globally consistent. Huawei’s compatibility documentation identifies them as available only in some countries, and earlier reviews recorded ECG restrictions at launch before later availability in selected European markets.
To check ECG on a supported device, Huawei’s documented route is:
- Update Huawei Health to the latest available version.
- Open Huawei Health.
- Go to Heart.
- Select ECG.
That path does not guarantee that the feature will appear. Availability can depend on the exact model, sales region, Huawei Health version, account region, firmware and local regulatory status. Do not buy an imported GT 3 Pro solely for ECG without confirming all of those details.
ECG and other readings are wellness or screening tools where supported, not a substitute for clinical evaluation. Huawei says its health data is for reference and should not be used as the basis for diagnosis or treatment. A reading can also be affected by movement, poor skin contact, cold skin, tattoos or a loose strap. Anyone with symptoms should seek medical care rather than troubleshoot the watch.

Fitness and sports tracking
The GT 3 Pro is more convincing as a fitness watch than as a smartwatch. It supports GPS tracking, running courses and programmes, workout auto-detection, training metrics, heart-rate recording, swimming and Route Back navigation. It also offers free-diving features, giving it an unusual appeal for recreational water sports.
Independent launch-era reviews were broadly positive about its fitness capabilities and heart-rate performance. TechRadar reported strong heart-rate results in its testing, while Android Authority noted that the GT 3 Pro uses the same dual-band, five-system GNSS hardware discussed in its GT 3 analysis. Those results should be read as dated independent tests, not a guarantee of identical 2026 performance. GPS depends on firmware, satellite visibility, buildings, route type and activity.
Wrist-based optical heart rate can also struggle during intervals, strength training, cold-weather exercise or inconsistent strap contact. Serious athletes should consider a compatible chest strap, and medical concerns should be handled with clinical equipment.
Swimming and free-diving: useful, but not dive equipment
Huawei rates the watch IP68 and 5 ATM and says it supports free-diving to 30 metres. That makes it suitable for supported swimming and recreational free-diving within Huawei’s limits, but 5 ATM is not a universal waterproofing certificate.
Recommended Free Tools
It is not intended for scuba or technical diving, dives deeper than 30 metres, hot showers, hot tubs, saunas, high-pressure water jets or similar exposure. Platform diving and prolonged contact with hot water or steam are also poor matches for the stated limitations. After seawater exposure, Huawei advises rinsing the watch with fresh water.
Battery life: the real reason to buy it
Huawei rates the titanium model for up to 14 days in typical use and up to 8 days in heavy use. Those are controlled manufacturer scenarios, not universal results. Huawei’s typical-use test includes enabled heart-rate and sleep monitoring, limited Bluetooth calling and music playback, 90 minutes of GPS workouts per week, notifications and 200 screen activations per day. Its heavy-use scenario includes more exercise, stress monitoring and 30 minutes of screen-on time per day.
Always-on display, frequent GPS workouts, high brightness, Bluetooth calls, music playback and continuous stress monitoring can all reduce endurance. A used unit introduces another variable: lithium-ion battery capacity declines with age and charging cycles.
The sensible expectation is a range rather than a magic number:
- Light use: may approach Huawei’s claim.
- Normal mixed use: will usually be below the headline figure.
- Heavy GPS and always-on use: can reduce endurance substantially.
- Older second-hand units: may perform noticeably worse than a new example.
Even with those qualifications, multi-day endurance is the GT 3 Pro’s defining advantage over many daily-charging smartwatches.
What “smartwatch” means here
The GT 3 Pro is best understood as a smart fitness watch, not a miniature smartphone. It handles notifications, incoming-call alerts, alarms, timers, weather, compass, barometer functions, music controls, watch faces and Bluetooth calls. It can also support some third-party apps through Watch AppGallery inside Huawei Health, where those apps are available.
However, Bluetooth calls require a paired smartphone nearby. The GT 3 Pro has no SIM or eSIM support, so it cannot provide truly phone-independent cellular calls or data. Tech Advisor also identified the absence of eSIM functionality as a major distinction between Huawei’s GT line and more fully featured cellular smartwatch ranges.

The app ecosystem is much narrower than Apple’s watchOS or Google’s Wear OS. Payments and NFC functions are not universally available, messaging is less capable, and the watch’s usefulness depends heavily on Huawei Health and the phone to which it is connected. That software is focused and relatively low-maintenance if you want fitness data and notifications; it is a poor fit if you expect a wrist-based app platform.
Android and iPhone compatibility
Android
The best experience is likely with a Huawei phone, but Huawei documents compatibility with other Android phones. Depending on market, installing Huawei Health may involve Huawei’s own app ecosystem or setup requirements outside the standard Google Play experience. Notification permissions, background activity restrictions and account-region settings can affect reliability.
Pair the watch through Huawei Health rather than relying only on the phone’s Bluetooth settings. If pairing fails, check Bluetooth and app permissions, remove an old Bluetooth pairing, update Huawei Health and watch firmware, and reset the watch only after confirming that synchronised data is safe.
iPhone
The GT 3 Pro can pair with an iPhone, but “compatible with iOS” does not mean feature parity. Huawei’s compatibility table identifies restrictions including unavailable SMS replies. Other ecosystem and notification functions may also be more limited than on Android.
For iPhone owners who want rich messaging, payments, apps and seamless system integration, Apple Watch remains the more natural choice. Choose the GT 3 Pro on iPhone only if long battery life, its physical design and its fitness features matter more than those integrations.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsHuawei’s support pages cite Android and iOS compatibility, but minimum operating-system labels can differ between regional pages. Check the support page for your country before buying an old or imported unit.
What is missing?
- LTE or eSIM: calls and connected services depend on a nearby paired phone.
- A broad app ecosystem: Watch AppGallery exists, but its selection cannot match watchOS or Wear OS.
- Consistent payments: NFC and payment support vary by region.
- Full messaging: especially on iPhone, where message replies are restricted.
- Universal health features: ECG and arterial-stiffness detection are not available everywhere.
- Current-generation software expectations: this is a 2022 product, not a 2026 flagship hardware platform.
Buying a used or imported GT 3 Pro in 2026
The GT 3 Pro can make sense as a used or refurbished purchase, but only when the discount reflects its age and limitations. There is no dependable universal 2026 price: stock, warranty and availability vary by country, and some official regional listings have shown the product as out of stock.
Before paying, verify:
- the exact model and edition;
- the original sales region;
- the battery’s condition and realistic runtime;
- ECG, NFC, payment and watch-face availability in your country;
- the seller’s warranty and return policy;
- compatibility with your phone and current Huawei Health app;
- that the watch is not locked to another account.
Imported models are particularly risky when a seller advertises ECG or payments without identifying the regional model and software conditions. A newer Huawei watch may be better value if the price gap is small, while a cheaper GT 3 Pro can be sensible when battery health and regional functionality are documented.
Who should buy the Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro?
It is a good fit for:
- Android users who prioritise battery life.
- Huawei-phone owners.
- People wanting a traditional-looking watch with serious fitness features.
- Users who dislike charging every day.
- Buyers who value titanium, sapphire glass and a large display.
- Recreational swimmers or free-divers who understand the water limitations.
- Used-watch buyers able to verify battery health and regional features.
Look elsewhere if you need:
- Apple Watch-style iPhone integration.
- LTE, eSIM or phone-free calling.
- A large third-party app ecosystem.
- Guaranteed ECG access.
- A small, discreet watch for a narrow wrist.
- The deepest training and recovery ecosystem for serious sport.
- A medical device rather than a wellness wearable.
- Current flagship smartwatch software in 2026.
How it compares with the obvious alternatives
Apple Watch: the stronger choice for iPhone integration, apps, messaging and payments, but generally less appealing if multi-day battery life is the priority.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
Samsung Galaxy Watch: a better Android and Wear OS app experience, usually at the expense of the GT 3 Pro’s long endurance.
Garmin: often the better option for serious training, recovery metrics and endurance, though its general-purpose smartwatch experience may be less polished.
Newer Huawei GT or Pro models: worth considering for newer hardware, sensors, software support and warranty coverage. Compare the exact regional model rather than assuming every feature is universal.
