The 2025 Lakers–Timberwolves playoff series is over. Minnesota defeated Los Angeles 103–96 in Game 5 on April 30, 2025, winning the Western Conference first-round series 4–1. The games aired nationally across ABC, TNT and ESPN. For an archived schedule, local broadcast information and official game pages, use the guide below.
2025 Lakers–Timberwolves playoff schedule
This was the 2025 NBA Playoffs Western Conference first round, with the No. 3-seed Lakers facing the No. 6-seed Timberwolves. The NBA’s official series schedule listed Games 5, 6 and 7 as conditional.

Which channel carried each game?
- Games 1 and 4: ABC.
- Games 2 and 5: TNT. The Timberwolves’ official Game 5 guide also listed truTV and Max.
- Game 3: ESPN.
A standard NBA TV subscription was not the general solution for this series. In the United States, nationally televised playoff games can be subject to League Pass restrictions, so viewers looking for an archived game should start with the NBA’s official game page rather than assume League Pass includes it.

How to watch the games without cable
The most practical all-series approach at the time was a live-TV streaming package that carried ABC, ESPN and TNT in the viewer’s market. Contemporary viewing guides identified DIRECTV STREAM, Sling TV, Hulu + Live TV, fuboTV and YouTube TV as possible options. Channel lineups, prices, trials and local-affiliate availability change, so the service’s ZIP-code checker should always be treated as decisive.

Game-specific alternatives
- ABC: Games 1 and 4 could potentially be watched with an over-the-air antenna if the local ABC affiliate was receivable. An antenna did not cover the TNT and ESPN games.
- TNT: Game 5 was listed by the Timberwolves as available through TNT, truTV and Max. Max should be treated as a game-specific rights option, not automatically as a complete replacement for the full series.
- ESPN: Game 3 required ESPN access through a participating TV provider or applicable ESPN streaming access.
Local broadcasts
National networks were the simplest choice for viewers outside the teams’ local markets, but regional coverage mattered in Los Angeles and Minnesota.

Regional sports networks can require a specific provider, location authentication or a package available only in the team’s market. They were not substitutes for every national broadcast in this series.

What happened to Games 6 and 7?
Games 6 and 7 were never played. They were listed only as “if necessary.” Minnesota’s Game 5 victory ended the series on April 30, 2025, giving the Timberwolves a 4–1 win. There are therefore no future Lakers–Timberwolves games remaining from this playoff series.
If you missed a game
Use the relevant NBA game page or the Lakers’ official Game 5 page to check the final score, box score, highlights and any replay availability. Replay access can change over time, so it should not be treated as permanent.

For Lakers listeners, the team’s official announcement listed 710 AM ESPNLA and KWKW 1330 AM for Spanish-language coverage. The Timberwolves’ Game 5 guide listed iHeartRadio, the Timberwolves app and KFAN 100.3. These were audio alternatives, not video streaming services.
