PixVerse is free to try, but it is not an unlimited AI video maker. Free consumer accounts receive daily credits, and the current mobile FAQ says those credits refresh at 00:00 UTC and expire if unused. You can use PixVerse on the web app or its iOS and Android apps to create short videos from text prompts or still images.
This guide covers the current beginner workflow, credit limits, better prompting, troubleshooting, and the important restrictions on commercial use.
What you need before starting
- A PixVerse account.
- A browser or the official mobile app.
- A text idea or an image you have permission to use.
- Enough credits for the selected generation.
PixVerse is primarily a generative-video service, not a conventional timeline editor. Its tools can create short clips from text, images, first and last frames, or visual references. Available features may include extension, transitions, fusion, restyling, sound, speech and lip-sync, and character tools. See the official website FAQ for the current feature list.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteHow to make a video from text
- Open app.pixverse.ai and choose Sign up or Log in.
- Open the Creation workspace.
- Choose Text to Video, or the equivalent label shown in your account.
- Enter a prompt describing the subject, action, setting, camera movement, lighting, style, framing, and desired motion.
- Select the available duration, aspect ratio, resolution, model, and audio options.
- Check the displayed credit cost, then select Generate.
- Review the finished clip in your generation history and download it if it meets your needs.
Labels and controls can vary between web, mobile, country, account type, and product updates.

A useful prompt formula
[subject] + [action] + [location] + [camera movement] + [lighting/style] + [composition] + [motion constraint]
For example:
A small red fox walks through a misty pine forest at sunrise, cinematic wildlife documentary style, slow camera push-in, soft golden light, realistic fur movement, shallow depth of field, vertical composition.
A weak prompt such as “make a cool city video” leaves too many decisions open. A more useful version is:
Outdated Drivers Are Slowing You Down

Words such as “no text” and “smooth motion” are instructions, not guarantees. PixVerse may still distort typography, hands, faces, logos, or physics.
How to animate an image
- Choose Image to Video.
- Upload a JPG, JPEG, PNG, or WebP image.
- Describe the movement you want rather than rewriting every detail already visible in the image.
- Choose a short, inexpensive preview and generate it.
- Review the entire clip, not just its opening frame.
PixVerse’s image-to-video documentation recommends a clear, well-lit image with good contrast and a visible subject. It recommends at least 1024 × 1024 pixels; documented supported formats include JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WebP, with a maximum dimension of 10,000 pixels. See the image-to-video guide.

Choose settings without wasting credits
For a first attempt, use a short duration, lower resolution, no audio, one subject, and one simple camera movement. This lets you test motion before spending credits on a final version.
The current V6 technical documentation lists durations from 1 to 15 seconds, 360p, 540p, 720p, and 1080p resolutions, optional audio, several aspect ratios, and a 5,000-character prompt limit. Those are API specifications; the free consumer interface may expose fewer or different controls. Read the V6 documentation as technical reference, not as a promise that every setting appears in the app.
Use:
- 9:16 for most vertical Shorts, Reels, and TikTok-style videos.
- Short previews while refining an idea.
- Higher resolution or audio only after the visual motion works.
- Image-to-video or reference tools when consistency matters more than spontaneity.
Review and improve the result
Check the whole clip for:
- Subject identity changing between frames.
- Flicker or unstable backgrounds.
- Distorted faces, hands, text, or logos.
- Unnatural object movement or camera shake.
- Framing that does not suit the destination platform.
- Unwanted sound or visual elements.
Change one variable before retrying:
- Simplify the prompt.
- Reduce the number of subjects.
- Describe one visible action instead of several abstract ideas.
- Replace a complicated camera move with a static shot or slow push-in.
- Switch from text-to-video to image-to-video.
- Use a cleaner source image.
- Try a shorter or lower-resolution preview.
Do not repeatedly press Retry without checking the result and credit balance. PixVerse’s billing FAQ says a user-initiated retry consumes the applicable credits, while a generation that fails to process correctly should not deduct credits.
Extend, restyle, add sound, or upscale
When the base clip works, use the additional controls shown in your workspace. Depending on the model and account, these may include:
- Extend to continue a clip.
- Transition to connect frames or images.
- Fusion or reference-to-video to anchor visual identity.
- Restyle to change the visual treatment.
- Sound to generate music or effects.
- Speech or lip-sync for spoken content.
- Upscale to produce a higher-resolution result.
These operations can have different availability and credit costs. Check the amount shown before confirming each one.
How PixVerse’s free credits work
The current PixVerse app FAQ says free accounts receive 60 credits per day. The credits refresh at 00:00 UTC, and unused daily credits expire rather than carrying over. Web and mobile balances are synchronized when you use the same account. Confirm the live balance in your account because allowances and interface rules can change.

PixVerse’s general billing FAQ describes some consumer generations as costing 20, 40, or 60 credits. That should not be confused with the V6 API table, which bills by second and varies the cost by resolution and audio. Its listed V6 rates are:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
| V6 setting | Without audio | With audio |
|---|---|---|
| 360p | 5 credits/second | 7 credits/second |
| 540p | 7 credits/second | 9 credits/second |
| 720p | 9 credits/second | 12 credits/second |
| 1080p | 18 credits/second | 23 credits/second |
These API rates are not consumer-app prices. PixVerse states that API memberships are separate from web memberships, and API credits cannot be used in the web product. Use the cost displayed in your consumer workspace rather than an old tutorial or API calculation. The API membership documentation explains the separation.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Web app or mobile app?
The web app is generally more convenient for writing detailed prompts, viewing a larger preview, managing generations, and downloading files. The mobile app is useful for quick social clips, phone-camera images, and direct sharing. Both are tied to the same account data, credits, history, and membership benefits when you sign in consistently.
Can you use PixVerse videos commercially?
Do not assume that a free PixVerse generation is cleared for commercial use. PixVerse’s current Terms of Service say output is retained within the scope of non-commercial use, while commercial use may require separate authorization or a commercial-use license.
The Terms also restrict platform-provided creative materials to non-commercial, in-platform use unless PixVerse authorizes otherwise. Before using a clip in a paid advertisement, client project, monetized channel, sponsored post, product packaging, or brand campaign, check the current plan-specific terms and obtain any required permission.

Troubleshooting
My free credits are missing
- Confirm that you are using the intended account and login method.
- Refresh the web page or restart the app.
- Check generation history for retries, upscales, or other operations.
- Remember that daily credits reset at 00:00 UTC and do not roll over.
- Contact PixVerse support if a paid purchase or membership is absent after processing.
PixVerse says delayed purchases may take one to two hours to appear; keep the receipt and account details when contacting support.
Best Value
- Rotatable twist with 1/4"screw allows 360° adjustment and 180° flipping, so you can take photos, video call or live broadcast with ease
- Universal compatibility with smartphones up to 3.7 inches wide, GoPros, digital cameras and webcams
- Includes a wireless remote with a range of 30 feet (without obstacle), so you can easily take individual, group and wide-angle shots
- Swaps easily between handheld selfie stick and stand-alone tripod for dual-purpose use
- Whether you're an amateur, enthusiast or professional, this is a must-have accesory for shooting on the go
The task is stuck or export fails
Open generation history and check whether the original task completed. Try downloading again, then try the other official client if the browser or app fails. Avoid generating another copy until you know whether the first task exists.
The subject changes between frames
Use image-to-video, shorten the clip, reduce the number of subjects, simplify the motion, and try a reference or fusion workflow where available. For longer sequences, separate the story into short shots and join them in a conventional editor.
Generated text and logos are wrong
Generate the visual without important typography, then add captions, prices, URLs, logos, and legal notices in a regular video editor. Do not rely on AI-generated text for exact information.
PixVerse alternatives
Choose based on workflow rather than unverified pricing:
- Runway may suit users seeking more directed filmmaking tools.
- Pika may suit stylized, effect-heavy social clips.
- Canva may be better when AI visuals need to sit inside a broader design and social-media workflow.
For automation, batch generation, or product integration, use the PixVerse API documentation and its separate billing area. The API is not the simplest route for someone making one or two clips.
