Use Edge DevTools’ Device Emulation mode, then choose More options > Capture a full size screenshot. This saves the entire webpage, including content below the visible viewport. The nearby Capture screenshot command saves only what is currently visible.
Edge’s full-page screenshot method
Microsoft documents the full-page workflow in Edge DevTools. It works on a webpage that is longer than the browser window and does not require an extension.
- Open the page. Navigate to the webpage you want to save in Microsoft Edge and allow it to finish loading.
- Open DevTools. Right-click the page and select Inspect. This opens Edge Developer Tools.
- Turn on Device Emulation. In the DevTools Activity Bar, select Device Emulation (also called Device Mode). You can also open DevTools’ Customize and control DevTools (…) menu and choose Device Emulation.
- Open the device-toolbar menu. In the Device Toolbar, select More options.
- Capture the page. Choose Capture a full size screenshot. Edge captures the complete page, including content that is outside the current viewport, and downloads the image.
The exact label is important: Microsoft’s documented command is Capture a full size screenshot. It is separate from Capture screenshot, which captures only the current viewport.
Viewport capture versus full-size capture
| Command | What it includes | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| Capture screenshot | Only the content visible in the current viewport | A quick image of the current screen area |
| Capture a full size screenshot | The whole page, including content below the viewport | Long articles, landing pages, documentation and receipts |
Changing the emulated device or viewport can change the page layout. If a responsive site shows a mobile menu or different columns, select a viewport that produces the layout you need before capturing.

Check the result before sharing it
Edge’s documentation does not specify a numeric maximum page length or guarantee identical behavior for every dynamically loaded page. Treat the downloaded file as something to verify, especially for unusually long pages.
- Open the image and confirm that the bottom of the page is present.
- Check sections that load images only when they approach the viewport. A lazy-loaded image can be absent if the site did not load it during capture.
- Look for cookie dialogs, newsletter overlays, chat bubbles or sticky bars that obscure content.
- Confirm that text is legible at the chosen viewport width and device scale.
If content appears only after interaction, dismiss overlays or trigger the required control before repeating the capture. For pages that continuously append content while you scroll, wait for the page to settle and check the ending carefully.
What to do when Edge’s regular Screenshot option is missing
Microsoft’s policy documentation refers to the built-in Screenshot feature as previously named Web Capture and lists a WebCaptureEnabled policy. The everyday browser menu can vary between Edge builds, profiles and managed devices. Microsoft Q&A discussions also contain reports of changing labels and missing entries, but those reports are community observations rather than a guaranteed menu path.
If the three-dot menu does not show Screenshot or Web Capture, use the DevTools procedure above. It is the documented route for a full-size webpage capture and does not depend on the regular browser menu exposing a full-page option.

Windows Snipping Tool can capture a selected region, a window or the whole screen. Microsoft’s support instructions do not describe it as a scrolling webpage-capture tool. A full-screen snip therefore records the screen area currently displayed, not an entire page that extends below the viewport. For a long webpage, Edge DevTools’ Capture a full size screenshot command is the more direct documented method.

Common problems and fixes
The full-size command is not visible
Make sure Device Emulation is enabled. The command appears in the Device Toolbar’s More options menu, not necessarily in the main DevTools menu. If the toolbar is hidden, reopen Device Emulation from the Activity Bar or from Customize and control DevTools (…).
I used Capture screenshot and only got the top section
That command is intentionally viewport-only. Repeat the process and select Capture a full size screenshot.
The page is cut off at the bottom
Wait for the page to finish loading, then capture again. Check whether infinite scrolling, delayed requests or a consent dialog is preventing the lower content from rendering. There is no documented universal page-length limit to use as a diagnosis, so inspect the saved image rather than assuming a specific maximum.

Some sites lazy-load media as it approaches the viewport. Scroll through the page once, allow images to load, return to the top if necessary and recapture. Also check whether an ad blocker, privacy extension or network failure prevented the resources from loading.
A cookie banner or chat widget covers the page
Accept or reject the consent dialog as appropriate, close the widget, and capture again. A fixed element can remain over every section of a long image if it is not dismissed first.

The layout is unexpectedly narrow or mobile-looking
Device Emulation changes the viewport and can activate responsive breakpoints. Pick a desktop-sized emulation or adjust the width in the Device Toolbar, then recapture.
The browser’s Screenshot/Web Capture menu is disabled by an administrator
Managed Edge installations can apply browser policies. The WebCaptureEnabled policy is documented by Microsoft, but the policy reference does not provide consumer menu instructions. When the regular feature is unavailable, DevTools may still provide the full-size command; otherwise ask the device administrator about the policy.

For one page, DevTools is usually the simplest no-install approach. For repeated captures, scheduled jobs or pages that need consistent cleanup, an API can remove browser setup from your workflow.
Or skip the browser setup
ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. One GET request returns a PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF. Before capture, it accepts the cookie or consent banner like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups and chat widgets; each cleanup step can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits are not billed, and the response identifies the result with X-Page-Verdict and X-Billed headers.
The following examples use the documented API endpoint. Replace YOUR_API_KEY and the target URL as needed. See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for all parameters.
cURL
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
Python
import requests
r = requests.get("https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot", params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"}, timeout=90)
r.raise_for_status()
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
Node.js
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
if (!res.ok) throw new Error(`HTTP ${res.status}`);
const data = Buffer.from(await res.arrayBuffer());
require('node:fs').writeFileSync('shot.webp', data);
ScreenshotNeo includes full-page capture with lazy images loaded, CSS-selector element capture, dark mode, 12 device presets or a custom viewport, retina scale, PDF paper size and margins, custom CSS and JavaScript, clicks before capture, hide selectors, waits for a selector, delay or network idle, request and resource blocking, custom headers, cookies, user agent and Authorization, timezone and geolocation, transparent backgrounds, resizing, selectable cache TTLs, signed links, asynchronous jobs with signed webhooks, bulk capture for up to 100 URLs per call, a usage API and an OpenAPI specification. Parameter names used by other screenshot APIs also work, which can simplify migration.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Edge save a full-page screenshot as one image?
The DevTools command is designed to capture the whole page, including content outside the viewport. Open the downloaded file and verify that the page’s final section appears.
Can I use the regular Edge menu instead of DevTools?
Some Edge installations expose Screenshot or Web Capture options, but the consumer menu path can vary. If a full-page option is absent, use Device Emulation and the documented DevTools command.
Is a scrolling screenshot the same as a full-screen snip?
No. A full-screen snip captures the display area. A full-size webpage capture includes content that is below the visible browser window.
What file formats can ScreenshotNeo return?
Its endpoint can return PNG, JPEG or WebP images, and it can also produce PDFs.
The Bottom Line
For a manual capture, open Edge DevTools, enable Device Emulation, and select More options > Capture a full size screenshot. Verify the saved image when the page uses lazy loading or dynamic content. For repeatable, cleaned and automated captures, use ScreenshotNeo.
