When and where is Super Bowl LXI?

For television viewing, that means the local ABC affiliate is the key broadcast channel. ESPN’s app or streaming service may provide the online presentation, subject to the qualifying plan and regional terms in effect at the time.
Option 1: Watch free with an antenna
An antenna is the simplest option if your local ABC station reaches your home. It does not require internet service or a monthly subscription, although you need a compatible antenna and a television with a built-in tuner or a separate tuner box.
Reception depends on your address, distance from the transmitter, terrain, apartment construction, interference, and antenna placement. Do not assume that every household will receive ABC.

Set up an antenna
- Check whether the local ABC affiliate reaches your address using a local reception tool or station listing.
- Connect the antenna to the TV’s antenna or RF input.
- Open the television’s channel setup menu.
- Choose Antenna, Air, or Broadcast; the label varies by manufacturer.
- Run a channel scan and confirm that the ABC channel appears.
- Test the signal from the location where you will watch the game.
If reception is weak, move the antenna near a window or higher on the wall, then scan again. An attic or outdoor antenna may work better than an indoor model. If the signal remains unreliable, arrange a streaming backup before game day.
Option 2: Stream with the ESPN app
The ESPN route may be the most direct internet option because ESPN is identified as part of the U.S. Super Bowl LXI distribution. However, the exact eligible ESPN plan, price, device list, and whether a standalone subscription is sufficient should be confirmed close to February 14, 2027. The available event information does not establish a permanent 2027 price or complete eligibility table.
- Check which current ESPN plan carries the live Super Bowl broadcast.
- Create or sign in to an ESPN account.
- Subscribe directly, or choose the TV-provider authentication option if you already pay for an eligible provider.
- Install the ESPN app on your smart TV, streaming device, or supported console.
- Sign in with your ESPN account or participating TV-provider credentials.
- Search for Super Bowl LXI and test the event page before game day.
If the event does not appear, confirm that you are using the correct ESPN app, the subscription is active, and the account has been authenticated with the intended provider.

Option 3: Use YouTube TV
YouTube TV is a practical cable replacement when your ZIP code receives the local ABC affiliate. Its official information lists major broadcast networks, live sports, unlimited DVR, up to six accounts, and up to three simultaneous devices. The main plan was shown at $82.99 plus tax per month in an August 2026 check; verify the current price before signup.
YouTube TV is best for viewers who want a channel guide, DVR, multiple household profiles, and more live programming beyond the Super Bowl. It is expensive for someone who only wants one game, and ABC availability is location-dependent.
Set up YouTube TV
- Enter your home ZIP code on the official YouTube TV signup or plan page.
- Confirm that the local ABC station is included.
- Create or sign in to a Google account and complete the subscription.
- Install YouTube TV on the TV or streaming device.
- Sign in, open the live guide, and locate the ABC affiliate.
- Play the channel several days before kickoff to verify access.
A YouTube TV free trial, if offered, can vary by customer. Check its duration, cancellation deadline, payment requirement, and post-trial price. NFL Sunday Ticket is not needed: YouTube’s NFL guidance describes it as a product for out-of-market Sunday-afternoon regular-season games, not the normal way to watch the Super Bowl. Option 4: Use Hulu + Live TV
Hulu + Live TV lists local ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC channels where available. The page showed a price of $89.99 per month after a three-day trial in August 2026. The price, trial, included services, and local lineup can change.
This option makes the most sense for an existing Hulu household or anyone who wants live TV alongside Hulu’s on-demand library, Disney+, and ESPN-related programming. A basic Hulu or Disney bundle is not automatically live ABC; you need a qualifying live-TV arrangement or another eligible ESPN route.

- Confirm that ABC is included in your local lineup.
- Complete the subscription or trial signup.
- Install Hulu on the TV or streaming device.
- Sign in and open the Live TV guide.
- Find and test the local ABC affiliate before the event.

Option 5: Use an existing cable, satellite, or fiber provider
If you already pay for cable, satellite, or fiber TV, first confirm that the package carries your local ABC affiliate or the required ESPN channel. You may be able to watch through the provider’s receiver or TV app, or use the provider’s credentials in a supported network app.
- Confirm that your provider carries local ABC and/or the relevant ESPN access.
- Open the provider’s TV app, website, or set-top box.
- In the ESPN or NFL app, choose Sign in with TV Provider if available.
- Select your provider and enter its username and password.
- Return to the live channel or Super Bowl event page.
The NFL documents provider authentication for live games and lists support across providers and devices. See NFL provider-authentication instructions and its supported-provider list. If login fails, contact the provider before game day rather than troubleshooting during kickoff.
Other live-TV streaming services
The NFL’s ways-to-watch guide lists services and providers including YouTube TV, Hulu, Sling, Fubo, DIRECTV, Xfinity, Spectrum, Dish, Fios, and Optimum. That does not mean every service carries ABC in every market.

- Sling TV: Local broadcast availability is especially market- and plan-dependent; do not subscribe for the Super Bowl without confirming ABC in your ZIP code.
- DIRECTV: Can suit existing customers, but may be poor value for a one-game viewer depending on the plan and contract.
- Cable and fiber apps: Often simplest for current subscribers with local ABC already included.
Compare the total cost, including taxes, equipment, add-ons, trial conversion, and cancellation rules. Avoid calling any service the “cheapest” without checking those details for your location and date.
Is NFL+ enough to watch the Super Bowl on a TV?
Do not assume it is. NFL+ plan terms and device rules are not interchangeable with ABC or ESPN rights. NFL guidance for the previous Super Bowl emphasized mobile viewing for live playoff games, and NFL+ restrictions have historically made it more useful for mobile viewing and replays than as a universal living-room replacement.
For Super Bowl LXI, check the current NFL+ terms before buying. If your goal is specifically to watch on a television, an antenna, the ESPN app, or a live-TV service carrying local ABC is generally the safer choice. NFL+ is not a substitute for NFL Sunday Ticket either.

Which TVs and devices work?
Typical platforms for ESPN, live-TV, provider, or NFL apps include:
- Roku
- Amazon Fire TV
- Apple TV
- Android TV and Google TV
- Samsung smart TVs
- LG smart TVs
- Vizio smart TVs
- Xbox Series S and X
Exact support is app-specific. For example, current NFL provider-authentication documentation lists Android TV/Google TV 7.1 or newer, Fire TV 6 or newer, Roku firmware 11.0.0 or newer, LG models from 2020 onward, and Samsung models from 2018 onward. Those requirements do not automatically apply to every ESPN, ABC, or live-TV app.
If your TV lacks the required app, use a supported Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, or Google TV device; an Xbox console; a laptop connected by HDMI; or Chromecast/AirPlay where supported. Native apps are usually more reliable than screen mirroring, and some DRM-protected live video may not mirror correctly.

YouTube TV recommends at least 7 Mbps download speed for the best live-streaming experience. Actual quality depends on the service, device, Wi-Fi conditions, congestion, and the broadcaster’s feed.
- Test playback on the same TV and network you will use on game day.
- Use Ethernet for a stationary TV when practical.
- Move the router or streaming device if Wi-Fi is weak.
- Pause large downloads, cloud backups, and game updates.
- Do not rely on a phone hotspot unless you have tested it and confirmed your data allowance.
- Install app and TV updates well before kickoff.
- Keep an antenna or a second authenticated app available if the game is important.
If the stream buffers during kickoff
- Stop other high-bandwidth activity.
- Close and reopen the app.
- Restart the streaming device.
- Restart the router if necessary.
- Switch from Wi-Fi to Ethernet.
- Lower video quality if the app offers that control.
- Switch to your antenna or backup authenticated app.
Internet streams can also be behind an antenna or traditional broadcast. Expect some delay if you receive real-time score alerts or are watching with people using another delivery method.

National channel lists do not guarantee the local affiliate. Enter your home ZIP code on the provider’s lineup page before paying. Live-TV services may also use home-location and device-location checks.

The app cannot be installed
Possible causes include an unsupported TV model, an outdated operating system, regional app restrictions, full storage, or a discontinued platform app. Use a supported streaming device, console, laptop with HDMI, or casting method instead.
Your free trial will not cover the game
Trials may be unavailable to returning customers, require a payment method, end before February 14, or convert automatically to a paid plan. Record the cancellation date and post-trial price immediately after signup.
You expect 4K
A 4K television alone cannot create a 4K feed. Do not assume Super Bowl LXI will be available in 4K unless the broadcaster and service announce it. Event-specific 4K viewing may require a compatible app, device, subscription or add-on, bandwidth, and HDMI equipment that supports the required resolution and HDR format.
Which option should you choose?
- Choose an antenna if your local ABC signal is reliable and you want no monthly bill or internet dependence.
- Choose ESPN if you want the broadcaster’s own stream and confirm that your exact plan includes the live event.
- Choose YouTube TV if you want a conventional live-TV replacement, local channels where available, DVR, and multiple profiles.
- Choose Hulu + Live TV if you already value Hulu, Disney+, and bundled live programming.
- Use your existing provider if ABC or ESPN is already part of your subscription.
- Add a streaming device only when your current TV lacks a compatible app.
For a one-game viewer, check the antenna first, then compare the current ESPN option with a live-TV service that confirms local ABC availability. For a household that cannot afford a missed kickoff, an antenna plus a tested streaming method provides a practical backup.

- Confirm the event date and the current ABC/ESPN distribution details.
- Verify local ABC availability by address or ZIP code.
- Install the required app and sign in several days early.
- Test the live channel or event page on the actual TV.
- Update the TV, streaming device, and apps.
- Check the trial end date, recurring price, taxes, and cancellation rules.
- Test internet speed and pause competing downloads.
- Prepare an antenna, second app, or other backup if the game is important.
