Netflix error UI-800-3 usually means the information stored by Netflix on your device needs to be refreshed. A network problem can also stop Netflix from opening. Fully restart the TV or streaming device, restart your modem and router, then sign out of Netflix and sign back in. If the message includes a number in parentheses—such as UI-800-3 (100061)—use the instructions for that complete code because some variants indicate DRM, hardware, or device-support problems.
Check the complete error code first
Look closely at the Netflix message before troubleshooting. The plain code UI-800-3 has a general device-refresh procedure, but a suffix can change the recommended fix. Examples include UI-800-3 (100061), (202018), (205000), (205040), (106038), (207006), (207003), (307006), (307007), and (104001).
For the most accurate current instructions, enter the full code in Netflix’s UI-800-3 help page or open the page for the exact suffix listed in the variant section below.

For a game console, shut it down completely—not sleep or standby mode—leave it off for at least 30 seconds, and then restart it. Some exact-code instructions use a different interval; for example, Netflix’s guidance for UI-800-3 (205000) specifies a full 15-second power-off restart.
2. Restart the modem and router
This step helps when the device cannot connect to Netflix, but it will not necessarily clear stale Netflix information stored locally.
- Turn off the TV or streaming device.
- Unplug the modem and router.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Plug the modem and router back in.
- Wait at least one minute for the connection to return. Some equipment takes longer.
- Turn on the Netflix device and try again.
3. Sign out of Netflix and sign back in
If Netflix opens, use the app’s sign-out option:
- Press Back on the remote to open the Netflix menu.
- If the menu is across the top, move left to the profile icon.
- Select Get Help, then Sign out.
- Select Yes.
- Sign in again and retry playback.
If the menu appears on the left, select Get Help at the bottom and then choose Sign out. Menu names can vary by device, region, and app version. Apple TV uses a separate Netflix sign-out process, so follow the Apple TV-specific prompts if the generic path is unavailable.

- VPN configuration
- Proxy services
- Custom DNS settings
- Custom modem or router settings
A VPN or proxy can affect Netflix access, but it is not correct to assume that every VPN causes UI-800-3. If you need help changing these settings, consult the manufacturer or provider that supplied the device, router, VPN, or DNS service.
Device-specific solutions
Samsung Smart TV
Netflix says Samsung TVs may require a reset of Samsung Smart Hub. The menu path depends on the TV model and software version, and resetting Smart Hub can affect installed apps and sign-ins. Use Netflix’s current UI-800-3 instructions and Samsung’s support instructions for your exact model rather than relying on a generic menu path.
Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick
For some UI-800-3 variants, uninstalling and reinstalling Netflix is the appropriate device-specific fix. On Fire TV, Netflix lists this path:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Press Home.
- Open Settings.
- Select Applications.
- Select Manage All Installed Applications.
- Select Netflix.
- Select Uninstall and confirm.
- Reinstall Netflix and try again.
Uninstalling signs you out, so make sure you know your Netflix email address and password first. See Netflix’s guidance for UI-800-3 (205040) and related Fire TV instructions.

- NOTE1: Please ensure that the display resolution and refresh rate settings are consistent to avoid abnormal display; High-resolution data transmission will cause the chip to heat up, please don't worry too much
Roku
Roku instructions vary by product and suffix. For UI-800-3 (106038), Netflix tells Roku users to turn the device fully off, unplug it if applicable, ensure it is not merely in standby, leave it off for 15 seconds, and turn it on again. Use the exact-code instructions if your Roku displays a different number.
Xbox and other game consoles
Fully power off the console, leave it off for at least 30 seconds, and restart it. Then restart the home network and sign out of Netflix. Some Xbox variants may require uninstalling and reinstalling the app; do that only after confirming the exact code and ensuring you can sign in again.
Blu-ray players and set-top boxes
Use the complete power-cycle procedure, then try the network restart and sign-out steps. If Netflix still fails, check the manufacturer’s firmware and support information. Older Blu-ray players and set-top boxes may have device-specific support limitations.

Netflix says the app is no longer available on Google Nexus Player. Continued troubleshooting will not restore Netflix on that device; use a supported TV, streaming device, phone, tablet, or computer instead. For any other old device, check Netflix’s support status for the exact model rather than assuming age alone is the cause.

What common UI-800-3 variants mean
Do not treat the parenthetical numbers as interchangeable. Netflix gives several variants separate diagnoses and instructions:
| Code | What Netflix indicates | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| UI-800-3 (100061) | The error page may offer Reload Netflix. | Select More Details, then Reload Netflix if shown. See Netflix’s 100061 instructions. |
| UI-800-3 (202018) | A stored-device-information issue. | Follow the sign-out procedure in Netflix’s 202018 guide. |
| UI-800-3 (205000) | Uses sign-out plus a full 15-second restart. | Follow Netflix’s 205000 instructions. |
| UI-800-3 (207006) | Typically associated with a possible DRM issue. | Contact the device manufacturer about firmware updates or restoring the device to its original settings. See Netflix’s DRM guidance. |
| UI-800-3 (207003) | Typically associated with a possible hardware issue. | Contact the device manufacturer. See Netflix’s hardware guidance. |
| UI-800-3 (307006) | May indicate a hardware issue. | Ask the manufacturer about firmware, original-settings restoration, or device support. See Netflix’s 307006 guidance. |
| UI-800-3 (104001) | The device may not be certified for Netflix or Netflix may no longer be available on it. | Check device support and use a certified supported device if necessary. See Netflix’s 104001 page. |
| UI-800-3 (307007) | Has its own Netflix troubleshooting page. | Use Netflix’s exact-code instructions rather than the plain-code procedure. |
| UI-800-3 (205040) | Has device-specific guidance, including app reinstallation on some devices. | Use Netflix’s 205040 instructions. |
When to reset or reinstall—and when not to
Reinstalling Netflix can refresh the app, but it signs you out and is not the correct first step for every device. A factory reset is more disruptive: it can erase apps, saved data, Wi-Fi credentials, settings, and account sessions. Treat it as a last resort and follow the exact instructions for the code and device.
Before restoring a device to its original settings, have your Wi-Fi name and password and Netflix sign-in details available. Check for a firmware update and contact the manufacturer first when Netflix identifies a possible hardware or DRM problem.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsDecide who to contact
| Symptom | Best next contact |
|---|---|
| Only Netflix fails on one device after the normal steps | Netflix or the device manufacturer |
| Other devices also cannot access the internet | Your internet service provider |
| The router does not reconnect after restarting | Your internet service provider or router manufacturer |
| The exact suffix indicates DRM or hardware trouble | The device manufacturer |
| The device is uncertified or no longer supported | Use a supported device; contact the manufacturer if support status is unclear |
| The full code is unclear or not covered by the general guide | Netflix Customer Service |
If multiple devices fail at the same time, a home-network or broader service problem becomes more plausible, although that does not prove the cause. If Netflix works on your phone or computer but not on the TV, focus first on the TV, app, device firmware, or device support.
When the issue appears network-related, open Fast.com in a browser to test the connection directly to Netflix before contacting your ISP. The result is only one diagnostic signal; a speed test alone does not prove that the TV’s Netflix app or connection is healthy.
Quick Recap
