The result is a tall image containing the page below the visible screen, rather than just the portion currently displayed.
This workflow uses iOS and Safari; no separate screenshot app or accessory is required. The controls can move slightly after iOS or Safari updates, but the sequence remains the same.

Save an entire Safari webpage as an image
- Open the page in Safari. Wait for the text, images and other content you need to finish loading. If the page loads content as you scroll, scroll through the relevant sections first so Safari has an opportunity to display them.
- Take a screenshot. On an iPhone with Face ID, quickly press and release the side button and volume-up button together. On an iPhone with a Home button, quickly press and release the Home button and the side button together.
- Open the screenshot preview. A thumbnail appears briefly, usually near the lower-left corner. Tap it before it disappears.
- Choose Full Page. In the screenshot editor, tap Full Page. Safari expands the capture beyond the visible screen and shows a scrollable preview of the complete page.
- Review and crop. Drag through the preview to inspect the capture. Use the crop handles if you want to remove the browser area or trim the top and bottom. Cropping changes the image that will be saved.
- Save the image. Open the save options and tap Save to Photos. This stores the full-page capture in the Photos app as an image. Use Save PDF to Files only if you actually want a PDF.
Apple describes this feature as capturing a full page beyond the edge of the screen. The important distinction is the output choice at the end: Save to Photos creates the image requested here, while Save PDF to Files creates a document.
What the Full Page preview lets you do
Inspect content below the fold
The preview has its own scrollbar, so you can check sections that were not visible when you pressed the buttons. This is useful for long articles, receipts, documentation and pages with many sections.

Crop before saving
Use the crop controls to remove unwanted browser chrome, blank space or unrelated sections. Cropping is optional; leaving the full capture intact preserves the page as Safari rendered it.
Save the standard screenshot instead
If you do not tap Full Page, the normal screenshot flow saves only the current screen. That can be preferable for a small visual snippet, but it will not include content farther down the webpage.
Image or PDF? Choose the format before saving

Safari also has a separate PDF workflow. Open the webpage’s Page Menu, tap Share, choose Markup, tap Done, and select Save File To. Name the file and choose a folder. Apple notes that the location of the Share control can depend on Safari’s tab layout. This route is for a PDF document, so it does not replace Save to Photos when you need an image.
If the hardware buttons are difficult to use
Apple identifies Siri, AssistiveTouch and Back Tap as alternatives to the physical button combination. Those features must be enabled on the iPhone first; their setup screens are in iPhone Settings and can vary by iOS version. Once an alternative screenshot command is configured, continue with the same preview, Full Page and Save to Photos steps.

Troubleshooting a missing or incomplete capture
There is no Full Page tab
- Confirm that the page is open in Safari. The documented full-page webpage workflow is Safari’s screenshot editor.
- Tap the screenshot thumbnail immediately after capturing. If the thumbnail disappears, take another screenshot and open the editor again.
- Make sure you are looking at the screenshot editor’s tabs; the control appears after the preview opens, not on the webpage itself.
The capture ends before the bottom of the page
- Return to Safari and allow the page to finish loading before taking the screenshot.
- Scroll through sections that use lazy-loaded images or content so they render before capture.
- Check the Full Page preview’s scrollbar. What appears to be a missing section may simply be farther down in the preview.
I saved a PDF by mistake
A PDF is expected when you choose Save PDF to Files or use Safari’s Markup route. Repeat the screenshot and select Save to Photos in the save options for an image. Do not rename a PDF and expect it to become a photo; the formats are different.
The screenshot is not where I expected
Normal screenshots are automatically saved in Photos. For a full-page capture, verify that you selected Save to Photos, then look in the Photos library or the screenshots album. If you chose a Files option, check the folder selected in the save dialog instead.
The buttons open another screen or do nothing
Press and release both buttons quickly rather than holding them. Use the Siri, AssistiveTouch or Back Tap alternative if the timing is uncomfortable. A case that obstructs a button can also make the simultaneous press unreliable.
The layout looks different from these instructions
Safari’s tab layout and iOS releases can change the placement or appearance of controls. Look for the screenshot thumbnail, an editor tab labeled Full Page, and a save action that explicitly says Save to Photos. Those labels identify the needed path even when surrounding buttons move.

Quality, privacy and sharing checks
Let dynamic content settle
News feeds, dashboards, ads and other dynamic areas can change while you capture them. Wait until the version you want is visible, and scroll through long pages before taking the screenshot if images appear only when they approach the viewport.
Check sensitive information
A full-page image can include account names, order numbers, addresses and content far below the initial screen. Review the preview and crop or annotate before sharing. If you only need one section, a regular screenshot may expose less information.
Expect a tall image
A long webpage becomes a correspondingly tall image. Some messaging or publishing services resize tall images when you upload them. If the recipient needs selectable text, searchable pages or reliable pagination, choose the PDF route instead.
