On a computer, open the page in Chrome and select File > Print, or press Ctrl+P on Windows/Linux and Command+P on Mac. Choose a printer or PDF destination, adjust the settings shown, and select Print. On Android, use More > Share > Print. On iPhone or iPad, use Share > View more > Print with AirPrint.
Print a webpage from Chrome on a computer
These steps apply to Chrome on Windows, Linux, and macOS. Google documents the same basic flow for a page, image, or file open in the browser. See Google’s computer instructions if your menus look different.
- Open Chrome and load the webpage, image, or file you want to print.
- Open the print dialog with one of these methods:
- Windows or Linux: select File > Print, or press Ctrl+P.
- Mac: select File > Print, or press Command+P.
- In the print window, choose a destination. A physical printer sends paper output; a PDF destination creates a digital file instead.
- Change the settings that your selected destination exposes, then select Print.
Available controls depend on the destination and its driver. If a setting is missing, look at the printer’s own preferences or documentation rather than assuming Chrome supports that option for every printer.
Print from Chrome on Android
Android uses Chrome’s sharing menu rather than the desktop File menu. The printer must be able to receive the job over Wi-Fi or a mobile network, according to Google’s Android help.

- Open the webpage in Chrome.
- Tap More (the three-dot menu), then tap Share.
- Choose Print.
- Expand the settings if you need to change the available options, and select a printer.
- Tap Print.
Save the Android page as a PDF
In the Android print screen, choose Save as PDF instead of a physical printer, then choose where to save the file. This is still the print workflow, but the result is a PDF rather than paper.
Print from Chrome on an iPhone or iPad
Chrome on iOS and iPadOS sends the job through Apple’s AirPrint system. Google lists this sequence in its iPhone and iPad instructions.
- Open the page in Chrome.
- Tap Share.
- Tap View more, then select Print.
- Choose the available print settings and tap Print.
Your printer needs to support AirPrint and be available to the device. The exact printer-selection screen is supplied by iOS, so labels can vary by iOS version and printer.

The reviewed Google instructions describe PDF output for desktop print preview and Android. They do not establish an equivalent Chrome PDF menu on iPhone or iPad, so use AirPrint there unless your iOS print flow offers another destination.

Prepare a page before you print
Printing captures what Chrome presents in its print flow, not necessarily every element you can see while scrolling. Before opening the dialog:
- Wait for the page to finish loading, including any content you need on the printed copy.
- Expand sections or open tabs that must appear if the page requires an interaction to reveal them.
- Check that the correct page is active; Chrome can also print an image or a file opened in a tab.
- Decide whether paper or PDF is the real goal. A PDF avoids printer setup and is easier to send or archive.
Chrome and the printer destination may expose different layout, page-range, color, or paper controls. Change only the options that actually appear in your print window; Google does not promise the same set of controls for every destination.
Troubleshoot when printing does not work
No printer appears
First confirm that the printer is installed and configured according to its manufacturer. On Android, verify that it can receive jobs over Wi-Fi or a mobile network. On iPhone and iPad, verify AirPrint availability. If the destination list remains empty, the problem is usually printer discovery or device configuration rather than the webpage itself.
The print command is unavailable or disabled
A Chrome installation managed by a company or school can restrict printing, destinations, or print-preview behavior. Administrators configure these controls through Chrome policies; see Chrome Enterprise and Education policy documentation. Ask the administrator to permit printing if you do not control the device.

The page prints but the content is incomplete
Return to the page, allow it to finish loading, and make sure interactive sections are open before invoking print. If the missing material is loaded only after an action, Chrome’s print view may not include it until that action has occurred. For a persistent problem, save a PDF from the print flow and inspect the PDF before sending it to paper.
Android cannot connect to the printer
Check that the phone and printer can communicate over the network the printer supports. The Android guidance specifically requires a printer that can receive data over Wi-Fi or a mobile network. If the printer is visible but jobs fail, use the printer maker’s Android setup instructions.
AirPrint cannot find the printer
Confirm that the printer supports AirPrint and is available to the iPhone or iPad. Chrome hands the job to iOS after you choose Print; printer discovery and the final queue are controlled by AirPrint.
You expected a webpage file but got a PDF
Printing and saving are separate operations. Use Chrome’s Save Page As command when you need a local webpage file, and use the print dialog when you need paper or a PDF. Google’s download help covers the save workflow.

Can I print a Chrome page without a printer?
Yes. On a computer, select a PDF destination in the print dialog; on Android, choose Save as PDF. These create a file and do not require paper hardware.
Why is printing different on a managed work or school Chromebook or computer?
An administrator can disable printing or restrict destinations through Chrome policies. If the print option or a destination is missing, contact the administrator rather than changing settings you do not control.
Is Save Page As the same as printing to PDF?
No. Save Page As stores webpage files locally, while printing to PDF creates a rendered document from Chrome’s print flow.
