Set the page range to all pages and adjust orientation, scale, margins, and background graphics before printing.
“Full page” can mean a normal, paginated printout, a PDF with every printed page, or one tall screenshot. Choose the result first: browser printing is best for paper and readable PDFs; a full-page capture is better when you need one continuous image.
Decide what “full page” means
A long site can be preserved in three different ways:
- Paper print: the browser breaks the page into sheets.
- Paginated PDF: the same print layout is saved as a file instead of sent to a printer.
- Tall full-page capture: the whole page is represented as one long image or a specialized PDF. This is not the same rendering as browser print.
Use the print preview as your final check. It should show the expected page count and content at the bottom of the article. Dynamic pages, print styles, ads, and navigation can change what appears.

Print a full webpage in Google Chrome on a computer
- Open the page you want to preserve.
- Press Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+P on macOS. You can also open Chrome’s menu and choose Print.
- In the destination field, select your connected printer for paper, or select Save as PDF for a digital copy.
- Set the page range to All unless you intentionally want selected pages.
- Choose portrait or landscape orientation. Landscape can prevent wide tables or code blocks from being clipped.
- Adjust scale and margins if text is cut off or the preview creates excessive whitespace.
- Enable background graphics when colors, shaded headings, or diagrams are important to the result. Backgrounds can consume more ink.
- Review the last preview page, then select Print or Save.

Print a full webpage in Microsoft Edge
- Open the webpage and press Ctrl+P on Windows or Command+P on Mac, or choose Print from the Edge menu.
- Select a printer or Save as PDF.
- Use the page controls to choose All pages or enter a page range.
- Set margins, scale, paper size, and orientation while watching the preview.
- Turn on Background graphics if the design or colored elements disappear from the preview.
- Decide whether to keep headers and footers. They can add the page title, URL, date, and page number.
- Print or save only after checking that the final content is present.
For a less cluttered result, try Immersive Reader first when the site offers it, then print that view. Edge says Immersive Reader is not available on every website. You can also select text or images, right-click the selection, and choose Print if you need only that portion. The current controls are documented in Microsoft’s Edge print guide.
Print a full webpage in Mozilla Firefox
- Open the page in Firefox.
- Open the Firefox menu and choose Print to open print preview.
- Choose a physical printer or the Save to PDF destination.
- Set the page range, orientation, scale, margins, and any background option exposed by your system’s print dialog.
- Inspect the preview, including the last page, then print or save.
Firefox also documents simplified, clutter-free printing options. Extensions that edit a page before printing may request broad permissions, so review permissions and current availability before installing one. See Firefox Help.
Save a complete page as a PDF on iPhone with Firefox
Firefox for iOS documents a full-page screenshot workflow that produces a PDF rather than a normal paginated browser print:
- Open the page in Firefox and take a screenshot using your iPhone’s model-specific button combination.
- Open the screenshot thumbnail or the screenshot in Photos.
- Choose Full Page.
- Tap Done, then choose Save as PDF (or the available Files sharing option).
Button combinations vary by iPhone model. This is an iOS-specific capture method, not a universal instruction for Android or Safari. Mozilla’s documented steps are at Firefox for iOS Help.

Make the printout readable and complete
Use preview to catch missing content
Scroll through the preview before committing. Confirm that the title, images, tables, footnotes, and final paragraphs appear. A page count alone does not prove that every element rendered.
Fix width and clipping
Switch to landscape for wide layouts, reduce scale modestly, or choose narrower margins. If text becomes too small, use the page’s reading or simplified view first instead of repeatedly shrinking the entire page.
Choose backgrounds deliberately
Background graphics restore colored panels and some visual separators, but they increase ink use. If a background is decorative, leaving it off can improve legibility and reduce paper and ink.
Reduce navigation, ads, and popups
Reading modes can remove sidebars and advertising when the browser and site support them. Edge Immersive Reader is site-dependent, and browser print styles may already hide some navigation. Dismiss consent dialogs and overlays before opening print preview; an overlay that remains in the preview can cover content.
Wait for dynamic content
Many pages load images, comments, or “load more” sections only after scrolling. Scroll through the page first, allow images to finish loading, and then open print preview. Print styles can intentionally omit interactive controls, videos, or sticky navigation, so the printed result may differ from the screen.
When browser printing is not the right output
Browser print creates a sequence of paper-sized pages. It may split a table, move a heading to the next sheet, or omit interactive content. A tall capture keeps the page’s vertical order in one asset, but it can be extremely wide or long and difficult to read on paper. Decide whether your recipient needs a printable document, an archival PDF, or a visual record of the screen.

Troubleshoot missing pages, blank previews, and bad layout
The bottom of the page is missing
Check that the page finished loading and that content behind a “load more” control was expanded. Reopen preview after scrolling through the page. If the site uses infinite scrolling, there may be no finite end until you stop loading more items; print the loaded state or save sections separately.

Try another site or document to determine whether the issue is page-specific. Restart or retry the browser if preview problems persist. Microsoft lists page styling, retrying, and restarting Edge among troubleshooting steps: Edge print troubleshooting.
Colors, logos, or shaded boxes disappeared
Enable Background graphics (the label varies by browser and system). Some sites deliberately suppress backgrounds in print CSS, so the browser setting cannot restore elements the site has removed.
Text or columns are cut off
Try landscape orientation, a smaller scale, or narrower margins. For complex tables, use a reading view or copy the table into a document designed for printing. Check each preview page rather than relying on the first sheet.
Ads and navigation dominate the output
Use a browser reading or simplified mode when offered, dismiss overlays, and print that cleaned view. Availability is page-dependent; Firefox and Edge expose different options.

Headers, footers, or dates are unwanted
Turn off headers and footers in the print settings when that control is available. If the system dialog owns the setting, change it there and inspect the preview again.
A mobile workflow does not match these steps
Mobile browser menus and screenshot controls vary by operating system and model. The documented Firefox for iOS Full Page method saves a capture as PDF; it is not evidence that every Android browser or Safari version offers the same command.

Practical reliability and cost notes
- For occasional personal printing, the browser’s built-in Print command and Save as PDF cost nothing beyond paper and ink for physical copies.
- Preview after every significant setting change; scale, margins, and orientation can alter page breaks.
- For automated captures, wait for the content state you need and use selectors or network-idle waits rather than assuming a fixed delay is sufficient.
- Keep the original URL and capture date with an archived PDF when the page may change. A printout is a snapshot, not a guarantee that future readers will see the same content.
