To paste the same screen capture into several Kendo UI for jQuery Editors, get each Editor widget instance and call its paste(html, options) method with HTML that contains a usable image URL. If the content comes from the browser clipboard instead, handle each editor’s paste event, inspect or change e.html, and then let Kendo insert the result. These are application-level patterns; Kendo does not provide a special “paste to multiple editors” command.
Choose the insertion path
The right approach depends on where the capture originates and whether you already have durable image storage.

Clipboard processing happens in the browser before Kendo’s cleanup. Therefore, a cleanup callback cannot recover image bytes that the browser never exposed as a portable source.
Prepare a reliable screenshot source
Use a URL your editors can load
For repeatable insertion, upload the capture (or otherwise store it) and use an HTTPS or application-relative URL that every viewer is authorized to request. Include meaningful alternative text in the generated img element.

Your application must create the file and decide how it is authenticated and retained. Kendo’s paste and cleanup APIs transform HTML; they do not, by themselves, upload image bytes or create durable storage.
Be cautious with clipboard-local images
When content is copied from Microsoft Word, the browser can produce an image source that points to a clipboard-local file. A single Word image may be converted to a base64 source by default, while multiple images can retain URLs pointing to a physical folder. Telerik recommends pasting text or one image separately in that Word scenario. This warning is specific to Word copy/paste; it is not a guarantee about every browser, capture utility or screenshot format.
Paste prepared HTML into several editors
Initialize the widgets, retain their instances, and invoke the method once per target. Calling the method on one instance does not affect any other Editor.

An Editor must have a valid selection or caret when you call paste. If you trigger a multi-editor operation from a toolbar outside the Editors, save or restore each editor’s selection according to your application’s UX, or insert at a known location such as the end of the document. Test focus transitions because changing focus can change the active range.

Generate content once, then reuse it
Constructing the HTML once ensures every target receives the same alt text and source. If each editor needs different captions or permissions, create a separate string per instance rather than mutating one DOM node and moving it between documents.
Inspect or modify native clipboard paste
The Kendo paste event fires before insertion and exposes the pending HTML as e.html. Attach a handler during initialization, inspect the value, and replace it when your policy requires a change.

});Use this event for validation, normalization or rejection. If you need to reject a paste, apply the event-cancellation behavior supported by your Kendo version and verify it in the browsers you support; do not assume that changing e.html uploads or persists an image.

If a user pastes into one “source” Editor and your product should copy the same content to others, process the source event and explicitly paste the resulting HTML into the other instances. Guard against recursion by marking the programmatic operation.

Use paste cleanup without destroying the image
Kendo’s cleanup settings can transform incoming HTML. Select the narrowest option that meets your policy:

Do not choose broad stripping when the capture itself must remain. Configure cleanup during Editor initialization and test it with the actual clipboard payloads your users produce.

Persist captures instead of relying on pasted markup
- Receive the screenshot through your supported upload or capture path.
- Validate type, size and dimensions on the server as well as in the browser.
- Store the file in a location whose access rules match the Editors’ readers.
- Return a stable URL (or a controlled, expiring URL if that is intentional).
- Build the
imgHTML with analtdescription and callpasteon each target. - Save the Editor HTML and later reload it in a session that can still fetch the image.
Base64 can make a self-contained fragment, but it increases document size and may conflict with your content-security or storage policy. Choose it only after measuring the resulting HTML and enforcing size limits.

Troubleshoot common failures
The image appears in one Editor but not another
Confirm that you retrieved each instance with .data("kendoEditor") after initialization. Check that the target has not been destroyed or replaced by a partial-page update, and inspect the final HTML for a valid src.
The paste is plain text
An all or keepNewLines cleanup rule may be stripping tags. Remove that rule or use a custom cleanup callback that preserves img elements.
The image icon is broken after a Word paste
Inspect the source. If it points to a clipboard-local or physical-folder path, the browser cannot fetch it later. Paste one image separately as Telerik recommends, or upload the image and replace the source with your stored URL.
Formatting changes around the insertion
Try the explicit split value in paste(html, options). Also check whether css or span cleanup removed classes that your stylesheet requires.

Large captures make saving slow
Resize or compress before storage, enforce byte and pixel limits, and avoid duplicating base64 data in several Editor documents. Store one image and reference it by URL.
The operation loops or duplicates content
A paste handler that calls paste on Editors with the same handler can re-enter itself. Use a guard such as distributing in the example and clear it in a finally block.
Production checklist
- Initialize every Editor before retrieving its instance.
- Keep a durable, authorized image URL; do not depend on clipboard-local paths.
- Use

Can one Kendo Editor instance be shared by several text areas?
No. Each initialized element has its own widget instance; retrieve and address them separately.
Does paste automatically upload a screenshot?
No. It inserts or transforms HTML. Upload and persistence must be implemented by your application.
Can I paste a PDF into the Editor?
The documented method inserts HTML. Convert a PDF page to an image or link to the PDF through a separate application workflow.
