To pair Spotify, open the app on your TV or console, choose Log in with PIN or Log in with code, then visit https://www.spotify.com/pair on a phone, tablet, or computer. Sign in, enter the code shown on the TV, and wait for the app to refresh.
What you need
- A supported smart TV, streaming device, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox, or compatible TV app with internet access.
- The official Spotify app installed or available in the device’s app store.
- A phone, tablet, or computer to enter the code.
- A Spotify account. Premium is not required simply to pair the account.
Menu names vary by device, language, and app version. You may see Log in with PIN, Log in with code, or similar wording.
Official Spotify pairing website
Use https://www.spotify.com/pair. The shorter spotify.com/pair form also uses Spotify’s official domain. The page may ask you to sign in before accepting the code.

Pair Spotify with a smart TV
- Turn on the TV and connect it to the internet.
- Open the TV or set-top-box app store and search for Spotify.
- Install Spotify, or update it if it is already installed.
- Open Spotify and select Log in.
- Choose Log in with PIN or Log in with code.
- Leave the displayed code visible.
- On another device, open https://www.spotify.com/pair.
- Sign in if prompted, enter the TV’s code, and confirm if Spotify asks.
- Wait for the TV app to load your account.
Spotify says many TVs support its app, but availability depends on the model, operating system, country, and app-store support. Search the TV or attached streaming device’s app store before buying anything.
Pair Spotify on PlayStation 4 or 5
- Download and open Spotify on the PS4 or PS5.
- Select Log in.
- Choose email and password, Spotify Connect, or Log in with PIN.
- On a phone, tablet, or computer, open https://www.spotify.com/pair.
- Enter the PIN shown on the PlayStation and wait for confirmation.
Spotify says signing in can link the Spotify account with the PlayStation Network account, allowing automatic Spotify login when you sign in to PSN. See Spotify’s PlayStation instructions for platform details.
PIN login versus Spotify Connect

For Connect, open Spotify, start playback, tap the Connect-device control, and select the TV. On iPhone, Spotify may need Local Network permission. On Android TV, enable Settings → Apps → Special app access → Display over other apps if Spotify cannot discover the TV. More guidance is available in Spotify’s Connect documentation.

When the code does not work
The code is rejected
- Check that the address is exactly on the spotify.com domain.
- Return to the TV or console, cancel the PIN screen, and open the code-login option again.
- Generate a new code and enter it immediately. Spotify does not publish one universal expiration interval for this flow.
- Check each digit and confirm that the device shown is the one you intend to authorize.
- Make sure the target device is online.
The pairing page will not load
- Switch the phone from Wi-Fi to cellular data, or try a computer.
- Open a private or incognito browser window.
- Temporarily disable a VPN, content blocker, or restrictive DNS setting.
- Generate a new TV code and reopen the official pairing page.
The TV remains on the login screen
Follow Spotify’s troubleshooting sequence: restart Spotify, restart the TV, restart the router, update Spotify and the TV software, reinstall Spotify, and try another Wi-Fi connection. The full steps are on Spotify’s TV support page.
The TV is missing from Spotify Connect
- Turn on the TV and leave Spotify open.
- Check that both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Update Spotify and the TV software.
- Enable iPhone Local Network permission for Spotify.
- On Android TV, allow Spotify to display over other apps.
- Close Spotify on other devices that may already be controlling playback.
If your TV has no Spotify app
Spotify lists Google Chromecast, Apple AirPlay, and NOW Smart Stick as possible alternatives, subject to country, hardware, and software compatibility. A TV may also support Spotify through an attached streaming device even when its built-in system does not.
Bluetooth fallback
- Turn on Bluetooth on the phone or computer and on the TV or sound system.
- Pair the devices in their Bluetooth settings.
- Open Spotify on the source device and play audio.
Bluetooth sends audio from the source device; it does not install or authenticate the Spotify TV app. If pairing fails, close Spotify, forget the Bluetooth device, and pair it again. See Spotify’s Bluetooth guide.

Sign out, unlink, and protect your account
On a shared TV, sign out when finished so the next viewer cannot use your account. For PlayStation, Spotify documents two different actions:

- On the console, use Settings → Users and Accounts → Link Services → Spotify → Unlink.
Unlinking Spotify from PSN is not the same as signing out of the Spotify app. If an unfamiliar device appears, do not approve its code. Sign out everywhere, remove unknown third-party access, and reset your Spotify password if you suspect exposure. Spotify’s Connect guidance covers unfamiliar-device precautions.

No. Spotify’s US site offers a free, ad-supported service, and its TV login instructions do not make Premium a prerequisite for pairing. Premium adds features such as ad-free listening, offline listening, and additional playback controls.
