Build The First Instrumental
- Open the tool and choose instrumental mode where available. This keeps synthetic lyrics from competing with the melancholy arrangement. In tools that generate complete songs, leave lyrics blank or write only a short vocal concept for later.
- Paste a compact prompt. Try: “Sad late-night jazz ballad, 68 BPM feel, minor-key felt piano, muted trumpet answering a tenor saxophone, upright bass with descending walking notes, brushes entering after eight bars, intimate smoky club, warm tape-like room, restrained dynamics, unresolved final chord, no bright pop drums.” BPM is a creative instruction; the directory does not confirm that every product exposes a BPM control.

For a sung version, Suno, Eleven Music and Udio document vocal and instrumental generation. Give the singer fewer words and longer rests: “eight-line verse about reading an unsent letter, low-volume smoky vocal, conversational phrasing, no ad-libs in the intro.” Use section editing or replacement where available to regenerate only a chorus that becomes too dramatic. Suno’s free plan does not include commercial rights or stem separation. Eleven Music’s free plan is personal use, and its commercial rights vary by plan and exclude film, TV and studio games. Udio currently disables audio, video and stem downloads during its transition period, so check its current export status before committing to it.

- Arrange the sections. Keep the opening sparse, place the emotional peak in the middle and let the final phrase resolve softly or remain intentionally unresolved.
- Balance the stems. Lower bass and drums until the piano melody remains clear on inexpensive phone speakers. Avoid heavy reverb that hides the attack of brushed drums.
