Build The Lo-Fi Track Step By Step
- Set a short brief. Write the target in your notes before opening a generator: “Instrumental lo-fi hip-hop, 78 BPM, dusty drums, warm electric piano, mellow bass, gentle vinyl texture, simple eight-bar loop, no vocals.” Keep the arrangement small so it loops cleanly on a budget phone.
- Generate three drafts in Soundverse AI Beat Maker. Open the tool, enter the brief, generate an instrumental, and save the version with the clearest kick, snare and bass. Generate two more versions by changing only one detail, such as “rainy” or “jazzy,” so you can compare the groove. Use the genre, mood, energy and syncopation controls to make small changes, then export MIDI, WAV, MP3 or stems. Beat Shaper runs in a browser; Starter downloads are MP3 and non-commercial, while Creator includes MIDI, MP3 and WAV downloads, unlimited song lengths and commercial usage rights.
- Add a phone-friendly variation with Rewind AI Beat Maker. On the web, iOS or Android, paste the brief and set a BPM that matches your chosen draft. Try one file upload only if you own or have permission to use that audio. Keep the best variation as an alternate chorus or intro. - Arrange the sections. Put the main loop first, then make a short intro by muting drums for four or eight bars. Follow with the full beat, remove one layer for a breakdown, and return to the full beat. If you exported stems, balance drums, bass and melody separately; if you exported MIDI, change notes without regenerating the whole track.
- Polish and export in Loudly. Upload the mix or stems, use its remix and mastering tools, and listen for harsh highs or an overpowering bass. Export the finished file only after checking the plan’s licensing terms. The free generator limits tracks to 30 seconds, so use a paid plan for a longer deliverable when its terms suit your project.
- Check rights before sharing. Do not upload a voice, recording or sample unless you have permission. Soundverse’s Creator & Pro plans list commercial licenses; InsMelo says commercial rights depend on the subscription or license; MusicFX DJ says commercial use depends on Google’s applicable Terms of Service; Loudly says paid licensing depends on the plan. Rewind lists commercial use as permitted. For any other plan, read the linked product terms before monetising the track.
- Save the project files. Keep the prompt, the date, the exported WAV or MP3, and any MIDI or stem files in one folder. Name versions by BPM and change, such as lofi_78bpm_rain_v2, so you can return to the exact arrangement later.
Prompts That Keep Lo-Fi Consistent
- Core loop: “Instrumental lo-fi hip-hop, 76 BPM, dusty kick and soft snare, warm electric piano, round bass, gentle tape wobble, eight-bar loop, no vocals.”
- Night version: “Instrumental lo-fi, 72 BPM, minor-key electric piano, brushed drums, muted bass, quiet rain texture, relaxed swing, no vocals.”
- Study version: “Instrumental lo-fi beat, 80 BPM, steady soft drums, simple two-chord melody, low-energy bass, subtle vinyl texture, seamless loop, no vocals.”
Common Problems And Fixes
- The beat sounds too busy: regenerate with “sparse arrangement” and “one melody layer,” or remove hi-hats in Beat Shaper’s piano roll.
- The loop clicks at the join: shorten the last note, leave a little silence at the end, and export the loop again.
- The bass masks the kick: lower the bass level in the stem mix and keep one bass note per chord.
- You ran out of free credits: save the prompt and MIDI or stems you already made, then continue when the tool’s allowance resets or choose another free tool from the table.
