You may qualify for a Scribd refund if you contact Scribd within 30 days of the charge and the subscription was unused, Scribd charged you in error, a technical problem prevented access, your account was taken over, or purchased content was defective or materially different from its preview. Cancellation alone usually stops future renewals; it does not automatically refund the current billing period.
The correct refund route depends on who billed you: Scribd directly, Apple, or Google Play. These instructions reflect Scribd’s published policy and account-flow information checked on August 18, 2026.

First identify who billed you
Check the receipt, bank statement, or subscription settings before requesting money back. The billing provider controls the refund route.

- Apple App Store billed you: request the refund from Apple.
- Google Play billed you: cancel the associated subscription first, then use Google’s refund process or contact Scribd when Google directs you to the developer.
- PayPal or another payment service appears on the receipt: keep that transaction information available when contacting support.
The product name may be Scribd, Everand, or SlideShare. The billing channel matters more than the branding shown in the app.

Can you get a Scribd refund?
Scribd’s refund policy is discretionary in several situations, so meeting one of the conditions below does not guarantee approval. The request must also generally be made within 30 days of the charge.

What does Scribd’s 30-day rule mean?
The relevant date is 30 days from the charge—not 30 days from cancellation, discovering the problem, or the end of the billing cycle. A request submitted within 30 days is not automatically approved: you must also have a reason covered by the policy or applicable law.

How to request a refund for a direct Scribd charge
- Confirm that the charge is no more than 30 days old.
- Open the Scribd Help Center and contact support.
- Explain the reason clearly—for example, unused time, a technical failure, an incorrect charge, fraud, or defective content.
- Provide the transaction details below.
- Never send your full payment-card number.
Information to include
- Order number from the receipt email
- Scribd username
- Email address linked to the account
- Charge amount and date/time
- For a card: last four digits only, card type, and name on the card
- For PayPal: PayPal email address and transaction number
- For Apple Pay, Google Pay, or another tokenized payment service: the last four digits of the token card number, if available
These details help support locate the transaction; they do not guarantee a refund.

Apple App Store refunds
Scribd cannot refund App Store purchases because Apple controls those transactions. Request the refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com:
- Sign in.
- Select “I’d like to”, then “Request a refund.”
- Choose a reason.
- Select the Scribd or Everand subscription.
- Submit the request.
Apple says it generally provides an update within 24–48 hours, although returning approved funds can take longer. Eligibility varies by country or region. See Apple’s refund instructions.
To stop another Apple renewal, cancel separately through Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Scribd or Everand → Cancel Subscription. On a Mac, use App Store → account/name → View Information → Subscriptions → Manage.

Scribd says the associated Google Play subscription must be canceled before Scribd can issue a refund. If you want to remain subscribed, ask Scribd whether an account credit is available instead.

- Cancel the subscription in Google Play: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Scribd or Everand → Cancel Subscription. On the web, use play.google.com → profile → Payments & subscriptions → My Subscriptions → Manage → Cancel subscription.
- For a recent purchase, use Google’s refund-request workflow.
- Google says some app and subscription purchases may be handled through Google Play within 48 hours. Eligibility depends on the product, timing, payment method, and location.
- If Google directs you to the developer, or the purchase falls outside Google’s direct route, contact Scribd with the Google Play order information.
Google says decisions commonly take 1–4 days, while returning approved funds may take longer depending on the payment method. See Google’s current refund guidance.
Cancellation is not the same as a refund
For a normally paid subscription, cancellation usually prevents the next renewal while access continues until the end of the already-paid billing period. A free-trial cancellation may end premium access immediately. Neither action automatically reimburses the current charge.
To cancel a direct website subscription, sign in, open your account page, go to Subscription & Payment Details, select “End My Subscription” or “Cancel Subscription,” and complete the confirmation screens. Look for a cancellation message and confirmation email. Store-billed subscriptions must be canceled through Apple or Google Play. Labels may change over time.
Troubleshooting common billing problems
Charged after canceling
Check where the subscription was billed and whether cancellation completed. Canceling on Scribd may not cancel an Apple- or Google-billed subscription. Review your confirmation email and the next billing date in subscription status.

- Use your Visa Gift Card in the U.S. everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted, including online.
Unexpected renewal or free-trial conversion
A forgotten renewal is not the same as account fraud. Cancel future renewals and submit a refund request promptly if the charge is within the policy window. A free-trial charge should be addressed separately from cancellation because trial cancellation may end access immediately.
The amount is wrong
Check payment history for a detailed breakdown. Possible explanations include a plan upgrade, prorated billing, taxes, a trial converting to paid service, or a promotion ending. Scribd’s guidance is available in Something’s wrong with my bill.
You cannot find the subscription
Try every email address you use, search for the receipt under Scribd, Everand, or SlideShare, and check Apple subscriptions or Google Play subscriptions. Confirm that you are signed into the account associated with the receipt.

If your Scribd account was taken over, secure the account and contact Scribd immediately. Do not describe a forgotten renewal as fraud. If you cannot find any related account or receipt, contact the card issuer or payment provider as well as Scribd where appropriate.

What happens if Scribd approves the refund?
Scribd says approved refunds go to the original payment method. It does not issue cash, checks, or refunds to an unrelated payment method. If you used a discount, the refundable amount is generally the amount actually paid, not the undiscounted price.
Scribd’s refund page does not promise a fixed processing time. Apple, Google, PayPal, or your card issuer may control when the credit appears.
Regional rights
Scribd’s Premium Terms of Sale generally describe fees as non-refundable except under its refund policy or applicable law. The same terms state that customers in the EU or UK have a legal right to withdraw from an initial digital subscription within 14 days and receive a full refund, subject to applicable conditions. This is not a universal rule: product type, transaction, location, and the terms shown at checkout matter.
