Why can’t I find Full Page when I take a screenshot on my iPhone? Start by checking the screenshot workflow for your iOS version and by testing a long webpage in Safari. Apple documents Full Page for content that extends beyond the screen, with an entire Safari webpage as its example; it does not promise the control in every app or on every screen. On iOS 26, screenshot tools appear automatically. On iOS 18 and earlier, tap the temporary thumbnail in the lower-left corner first.
This guide follows Apple’s documented steps, explains what a missing control means, and shows when Safari’s separate webpage-to-PDF feature is a better fit.

Use Apple’s Full Page workflow
Apple’s documented example is a webpage in Safari. The capture can include content below the visible screen, which you then inspect, crop and save. Follow these steps in order.
- Open the long content. In Safari, load the webpage you want to capture and make sure the page itself is visible.
- Take a screenshot. On an iPhone with Face ID, quickly press and release the Side button and Volume Up together. On an iPhone with a Home button, press the Side button and Home button together. Apple also documents Top plus Home for Touch ID models that have a top button.
- Open the screenshot controls for your iOS version. iOS 26 displays the screenshot with quick tools automatically. On iOS 18 and earlier, tap the temporary thumbnail that appears in the lower-left corner.
- Select Full Page if it is offered. The preview shows the longer capture on the right. Scroll through it and crop unwanted areas before saving.
- Choose an output. Apple provides an option to save the result as an image in Photos or as a PDF in Files.
If Full Page does not appear while you are testing a long Safari page, first confirm that you opened the screenshot’s editing or quick-tool view. An older tutorial that tells you to tap a thumbnail may not match iOS 26, while an iOS 26 explanation may omit the thumbnail step needed on iOS 18 or earlier.

Apple’s general instructions distinguish these two experiences in its screenshot support article. The version difference changes how you reach the control; it does not establish that every app supports a full-page capture.
What a missing Full Page control means
Safari is the documented test case
Apple says you can capture content longer than the iPhone screen, such as an entire webpage in Safari, and illustrates the feature with that use case. If you are testing in Safari and the page extends vertically, use the version-specific steps above and inspect the editor carefully.
Not every app or screen is confirmed
Apple’s guide does not state that Full Page is available in every app, document, feed or screen. Therefore, a missing control outside the documented long-content example is not, by itself, proof that your iPhone is malfunctioning. There is also no Apple-documented global switch that enables Full Page everywhere.

Screen-capture settings are not documented as a fix
Apple’s screen-capture settings guide covers preview style, Visual Look Up, CarPlay screenshots and SDR/HDR capture format. It does not describe changing those settings as a way to restore Full Page. Leave those options unchanged unless you have a separate reason to alter them.

Check the buttons and capture method
Use the combination that matches your hardware:
- Face ID models: Side plus Volume Up, pressed and released quickly.
- Home-button models: Side plus Home, pressed and released quickly.
- Touch ID models with a top button: Top plus Home, as documented by Apple.
If the screenshot itself is not being created, solve that capture step before looking for Full Page. Apple also documents alternate ways to trigger a screenshot, including AssistiveTouch, Back Tap and Siri, which can help when a physical button combination is difficult. These alternatives change how the screenshot starts; Full Page still depends on the content and the editor offering the control.
Save as an image or as a PDF
Image in Photos
Choose the image-saving option when you need a picture for a camera roll, message, design review or visual reference. Review the crop in the preview first; a full webpage can include navigation, cookie notices or other areas you do not want to share.

PDF in Files
Choose PDF when the result is primarily a document or when you need a file that can be stored with project documents. In the Full Page preview, select the PDF-to-Files option and choose a destination in the Files picker. The output choice does not make Full Page available in an app that does not expose it.
Use Safari’s webpage-to-PDF route when that is the real goal
If you only need a saved copy of a webpage, rather than a long screenshot image, Safari has a separate documented workflow. Open the page, open Safari’s page menu or share controls (the exact location depends on your tab layout), choose Markup, then select Done and Save File To. Apple describes this in Annotate and save a webpage as a PDF in Safari on iPhone. This route is useful when annotation and a PDF file matter more than a screenshot stored in Photos.

When to escalate
After confirming the correct iOS workflow and testing a long Safari webpage, record your iOS version, iPhone model, URL and whether the screenshot controls opened. Apple’s cited documentation does not identify a universal Full Page switch or a guaranteed restart, update, storage or reset remedy. If the documented Safari case also lacks the control, use Apple’s support channels for a device-specific diagnosis rather than assuming an unverified cause.

Can I trigger a screenshot without pressing two physical buttons?
Yes. Apple’s screenshot guidance also documents AssistiveTouch, Back Tap and Siri as alternate ways to start a screenshot. After it is captured, use the same iOS-version-specific editor path to check for Full Page.
Is a full-page screenshot the same as a Safari PDF?
No. Full Page is a screenshot capture that Apple lets you save as an image or PDF. Safari’s Markup workflow is a separate webpage-to-PDF feature intended for annotating and saving the page.
