Many CapCut projects can be exported without a CapCut watermark for free. If the logo appears only at the end, delete the template’s ending clip; if it appears elsewhere or CapCut shows a Pro prompt, find the branded or restricted element and remove or replace it. A Pro subscription is needed only for some paid assets and export features—not for every clean export.

First, identify what kind of watermark you have

What you see Likely cause What to do
CapCut logo in the final seconds A separate ending clip added by a template Select and delete the ending clip, then export again. CapCut describes this common template behavior.
Logo, text, or branding throughout the video A template layer, overlay, sticker, text element, effect, or asset Inspect the timeline tracks and remove or replace the element if it is editable.
An “Upgrade to CapCut Pro” prompt or a restricted export A Pro template, premium asset, or export setting Replace the restricted item with a free option, adjust the export setting if that is the trigger, or subscribe if you need that specific feature.
A watermark already visible in a downloaded or rendered video The mark is part of the finished video rather than a separate editable timeline clip Return to the original editable project if you own it. Deleting a timeline clip cannot remove pixels already baked into a rendered file.

CapCut does not necessarily add a watermark to every export. Many projects made in the standard editor with free assets can be exported cleanly; templates and premium content are the main reasons to check the timeline and export screen. The available behavior can vary by app version, platform, region, project assets, and export settings. See CapCut’s overview of watermark-free exports.

Delete the standard CapCut ending clip

If the logo is only at the end, this is usually the quickest fix. Open the editable project, move to the end of its timeline, select the short CapCut-branded clip, and choose Delete. Preview the last few seconds and export again. CapCut’s help pages cover removing the ending clip before export.

On iPhone or Android

  1. Open the template-based project in the CapCut app.
  2. Swipe or scroll to the final segment of the timeline.
  3. Tap the CapCut-branded ending clip to select it, then tap Delete.
  4. Review the other tracks for separate logo overlays or branded elements.
  5. Preview the ending and tap Export.

On Windows or macOS

  1. Open the project in CapCut Desktop.
  2. Move to the final clip on the timeline and select the branded outro.
  3. Delete it, then inspect the other tracks for separate logo or template layers.
  4. Replace any restricted assets if needed, preview the ending, and export again.

In CapCut Online

  1. Open the project in the web editor and scroll to the end of the timeline.
  2. Select and delete the CapCut ending clip.
  3. Check overlay tracks and other template elements for additional branding.
  4. Preview the edit and choose Export.

Button names and layout can shift between releases, but the essential action is the same: select the ending clip on the timeline and delete it. CapCut also provides platform-specific guidance for exporting without a watermark.

For a new edit, use the standard editor and free assets

If you have not started yet—or can recreate the edit—start a New project in the standard editor and add your own clips, text, and transitions. This avoids relying on a template that may include an outro or premium elements. Manual editing takes longer than applying a template, but it gives you direct control over every visible layer. CapCut identifies standard-editor projects as a route to watermark-free output in its watermark-free export guidance.

Replace Pro or branded elements if export is restricted

A Pro prompt usually means the project includes paid material or a locked export capability. Look for a Pro badge in the project and replace the marked item with a free alternative. Potential triggers include templates, effects, transitions, fonts, stickers, music, stock media, AI features, and export settings; the exact restrictions can depend on the account, app version, platform, and region. CapCut explains its paid-template restrictions and common reasons for a Pro prompt.

  • One premium effect or asset: Remove it or choose a free substitute. The replacement may change the look, timing, or sound.
  • A Pro template: Rebuild the edit manually or use a free template. Having used a template before does not guarantee it remains free; check its current badge and export warning.
  • A locked export setting: Try a standard resolution and frame rate if the prompt is tied to that setting. CapCut lists 4K, 60fps, and certain no-watermark export options among possible Pro-related triggers.

Changing the resolution to 1080p alone may not unlock the export if the project still contains Pro material. CapCut says premium content can keep an export restricted even at that resolution; see its export guidance for Pro projects.

When CapCut Pro makes sense

Consider Pro if you need a particular premium template, asset, AI feature, or export capability and do not want to replace it. CapCut describes Pro as including premium templates and effects and certain higher-quality export capabilities. It is usually unnecessary when the only issue is a removable ending clip.

There is no reliable universal subscription price to quote: CapCut says monthly and yearly prices can vary with region, device or platform, promotions, taxes, and account. Check the logged-in payment page for the price and renewal terms that apply to you; see CapCut’s pricing explanation. CapCut’s help page says it does not offer a lifetime purchase option (lifetime-purchase details). A seven-day trial may appear for eligible users in supported regions, but availability depends on region, account history, and app version; check cancellation and renewal terms before starting (trial eligibility details).

Pro is an export entitlement for eligible projects, not a restoration tool: it cannot recover source quality or guarantee removal of branding baked into a finished video.

If the watermark remains after deleting the outro

  1. Check the exported file itself. Play the saved video from beginning to end; the editor preview may not show everything added during export.
  2. Inspect every timeline track. Look for video layers, text, stickers, effects, and overlays that may sit above the main footage.
  3. Check whether branding is part of the design. A logo built into a template’s visual design may not be a separate clip you can delete.
  4. Find restricted items. Replace Pro or attribution-restricted assets, including effects, transitions, fonts, music, or stock media, then export again.
  5. Test the project on its original platform. Export from the mobile, desktop, or web editor where you created it, and confirm you are signed into the correct account.
  6. Contact CapCut support if the issue persists. Provide the project or template details if no visible branded element or Pro restriction explains the result.

If all you have is a downloaded, rendered video, removing a visible mark is a different problem from exporting an editable project. Cropping, blurring, or AI removal is post-processing—not a clean export—and can damage the image or remove content. Do not use these methods to strip a creator’s attribution from someone else’s video.

Why third-party watermark removers are a poor first choice

When you own the project, exporting from CapCut after deleting the outro or replacing restricted elements is the direct route. A third-party downloader cannot reliably restore the image hidden under a watermark, and uploading private footage to an unknown service can create privacy and security risks. Re-encoding may also reduce quality. CapCut itself advises exporting from the editor rather than relying on third-party watermark-download tools (CapCut’s guidance).
