The most reliable method is to obtain a Bing Maps embed snippet, then paste it into a WordPress Custom HTML block. If WordPress recognizes your map URL, you can try the Embed block first. Bing Maps support for that block is not guaranteed, and the exact Bing menu used to generate embed code can change.
Choose the right WordPress method

Microsoft documents Bing map embedding in SharePoint, but that does not prove that every Bing map URL works in WordPress. Treat the Embed block as a quick test rather than a guaranteed Bing integration.
Method 1: Try WordPress’s Embed block
- Open the WordPress page or post where the map should appear.
- Add an Embed block.
- Paste the Bing Maps URL and submit it.
- Use the editor preview, then publish or update the page.
If WordPress accepts the URL and displays a preview, this is the simplest option. If it rejects the URL or leaves only a plain link, use a provider-supplied iframe in a Custom HTML block instead.
Method 2: Add Bing’s iframe with a Custom HTML block
Get valid embed markup
Use Bing Maps’ current share or embed function if it is available for the map you created. The exact menu labels and steps were not confirmed in the available Microsoft documentation, so do not rely on a fixed button path. Some maps may provide a share URL without offering an iframe at all.

Insert the code in WordPress
- Open the target page or post in the WordPress editor.
- Insert a Custom HTML block.
- Paste the complete iframe markup supplied by Bing.
- Save or update the page.
- Open the published page in a separate browser tab and confirm that the map loads.
The Custom HTML block is intended for raw HTML, including iframe markup. Keep the provider’s URL and attributes intact unless you understand what you are changing.
Why the iframe disappears after saving
WordPress.com plan restrictions
WordPress.com requires a paid plan with hosting features activated before iframe tags can be used. If the editor removes the iframe when you save, check your plan and whether those hosting features are enabled.

WordPress.org capability and sanitization
On self-hosted WordPress, content can be sanitized for users who do not have the unfiltered_html capability. This commonly affects users editing content under a restricted role. Ask an administrator to add the code, or have an authorized administrator insert it.

A normal map or share URL is not the same as iframe markup. If you only have a URL, test the Embed block; otherwise, return to Bing Maps and look for an available embed option rather than inventing iframe attributes.

Check the result on desktop and mobile
- Confirm the map appears on the published page, not only inside the editor.
- Test zooming, panning and any controls that visitors need.
- Resize the browser or test a phone-sized viewport. An iframe is not automatically responsive just because it loads.
- Check that the map’s width and height leave usable space on narrow screens; adjust the supplied markup only if your WordPress setup allows it and you can preserve valid HTML.
WordPress.com versus self-hosted WordPress
The editor may look similar, but the security model differs. WordPress.com controls iframe availability through plan and hosting-feature settings. A self-hosted WordPress site generally depends on the logged-in user’s capabilities and its content-sanitization rules. In either case, a missing map after saving is more likely to be a permission or sanitization issue than a Bing rendering issue.

If Bing supplies only a share link and WordPress will not embed it, publish the link as a normal text or button link, or use another mapping method that your site explicitly supports. Do not present a plain Bing URL as an iframe, and do not claim that the WordPress Embed block supports Bing Maps unless your own editor confirms it.
