Start with Instagram Creator Marketplace in Meta Business Suite: define your audience and campaign, filter creators and audience attributes, inspect portfolios and interest signals, then message a shortlist or send a project opportunity. If Marketplace is unavailable or too narrow in your account, add targeted keyword and hashtag searches, competitor research and customer mentions, then screen every candidate for audience fit, content quality and workable terms.

Start with Instagram Creator Marketplace

For a brand, Creator Marketplace is the most direct Instagram route because it combines discovery, creator portfolios and project communication in one workflow. Meta says brands join through Meta Business Suite. Creators join from the professional dashboard in the Instagram app, where they can identify relevant brands and interests and build a portfolio.

Access is not identical for every account. Meta’s January 30, 2026 update described an expansion beyond the first 19 markets, but rollout statements are not a guarantee that every feature appears in every country or business account. Open Meta Business Suite and check which Creator Marketplace options are actually available to you.

Open the brand-side workspace

  1. Sign in to the Meta Business Suite account connected to the Instagram professional account you use for the campaign.
  2. Open Creator Marketplace from the available collaboration or creator-discovery tools.
  3. Enter the campaign subject, intended audience and practical requirements before reviewing individual profiles.
  4. Use the creator and audience attributes available in your account to narrow the results.
  5. Open each promising profile, review the portfolio and recent work, and note whether the creator has expressed interest in relevant brands or topics.
  6. Message suitable creators directly or send one project opportunity to several candidates for consideration.

What you can review

Meta’s documented Marketplace flow lets brands filter by creator and audience attributes, inspect portfolios and see creators who have expressed interest. Creators receive brand outreach in a dedicated Partnership Messages folder and can review the opportunity’s requirements, details and rate in Instagram.

The January 2026 update also described predicted ad-performance indicators, recommendations connected to brand mentions or explicit interest, and “similar creator” search based on an Instagram name or username. Treat these as dated rollout features: if an indicator or search option is missing from your account, it may not yet be enabled for your market or edition.

Define the search before you choose a creator

A vague brief produces a noisy shortlist. Write down the decisions a creator must satisfy before you search:

  • Audience: the country or region, language, customer type and interests you need to reach.
  • Content: the subject, format, tone, visual style and any claims the creator must avoid.
  • Deliverables: posts, Reels, Stories, live appearances, raw files, links or Partnership Ads access.
  • Timing: briefing date, draft review, publication window and any seasonal deadline.
  • Usage: whether your brand may repost, run the content as an ad or use it outside Instagram.
  • Commercial terms: budget range, product seeding, payment schedule, exclusivity and revision expectations.

This brief gives you a consistent way to compare people. It also lets a creator decide quickly whether the opportunity is relevant instead of exchanging several messages to discover basic requirements.

Filter and evaluate candidates on evidence

Follower count alone cannot establish that a creator reaches your buyers or can produce the required work. Use the evidence available in Marketplace and on the creator’s recent profile.

Decision area Evidence to inspect Questions to answer
Audience fit Marketplace audience attributes and the themes of recent posts Does the audience match the market, language and customer problem in your brief?
Content fit Portfolio, recent posts, captions and video execution Can this creator explain the product accurately in a format your campaign needs?
Interest and readiness Marketplace interest signals, listed brand or topic interests and response behavior Has the creator indicated interest in this category, and are they likely to consider the opportunity?
Professional fit Past branded work, consistency and clarity of profile information Do the creator’s working style and quality match your review process and deadline?
Terms Project requirements, rate, usage, timing and deliverables Can both sides agree on what is delivered, when it is delivered and where it may be used?

There is no universal follower-count threshold or single selection formula established for Instagram campaigns. A smaller creator with a closely matched audience may be more useful than a larger account whose subject matter or geography is wrong. Record the reason each person made the shortlist so the final choice is traceable.

Check the recent feed, not only the portfolio

  • Look for several recent examples in the exact format you need, rather than one exceptional older post.
  • Check whether sponsored content still sounds natural and whether product descriptions are careful and understandable.
  • Compare the creator’s visible audience conversation with the campaign’s intended customer questions.
  • Note repeated topic changes, long gaps or work that conflicts with your brand’s safety requirements.

Use manual discovery when Marketplace is unavailable

Keyword and hashtag searches, competitor research, customer mentions, creator databases, agencies and creator applications are useful supplementary routes. They are not guarantees and are not all official Instagram features. Interface labels and search behavior can change, so treat this as a practical discovery workflow rather than a fixed Instagram procedure.

  1. Start with the campaign subject, customer problem, product category and location. Write several natural-language keywords and category hashtags.
  2. Search those terms on Instagram and save creators who repeatedly publish original, relevant content rather than accounts that mention the term once.
  3. Open each profile and review recent posts, captions, audience clues and contact information. Remove accounts whose content or audience is clearly outside the brief.
  4. Inspect competitor collaborations. A creator who already explains a neighboring product category may understand the audience, but check for conflicts or exclusivity.
  5. Search for existing customers or community members who already discuss your brand. Their familiarity can make the content more credible, but you still need to confirm professional availability and terms.
  6. If the organic search is too narrow, consider a creator database, agency or creator-application page and apply the same screening checklist.

Save profile URLs, the reason for inclusion, relevant examples and your next action in a shared sheet. This prevents several team members from contacting the same person and gives you a record of why a candidate was selected.

Or skip the browser setup: capture public reference pages with ScreenshotNeo

If you are collecting visual references from public creator pages or campaign landing pages, ScreenshotNeo can return a screenshot or PDF through one API request. It is not a replacement for Marketplace’s audience filters or creator messaging; it is a way to automate clean page captures for your shortlist documentation.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Before capture, ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie or consent banners like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups and chat widgets. You can turn each cleanup step off. Only clean shots are billed: bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits cost nothing, and the response identifies the result with X-Page-Verdict and X-Billed headers.

cURL

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://www.instagram.com -o shot.webp

Python

import requests
r = requests.get("https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot", params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://www.instagram.com"}, timeout=90)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)

Node.js

const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://www.instagram.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);

See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for request options. For shortlist evidence, relevant controls include full-page capture with lazy images loaded, a CSS-selector element capture, custom CSS or JavaScript, hidden selectors, waits for a selector, delay or network idle, device and viewport settings, dark mode, resizing, caching with a chosen TTL, and PDF output. Public Instagram pages may still require authentication or trigger access controls; treat any bot-check verdict as a reason to verify the page manually rather than repeatedly retrying.

The service includes an MCP server for AI agents such as Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients, with take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf tools. Every feature is on every plan. The Free plan includes 1,000 shots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots. Other monthly plans are Starter $5 for 3,000, Growth $15 for 15,000, Pro $39 for 60,000, Scale $99 for 250,000 and Business $249 for 1,000,000; yearly billing gives two months free.

Turn the shortlist into a workable campaign

Use a simple decision record

For each finalist, record the audience evidence, strongest content example, potential concern, required deliverables and estimated terms. Mark unknowns as questions for outreach instead of guessing. This keeps a visually impressive profile from outranking a better audience match without a reason.

Contact a small first group

Marketplace lets you message a creator directly or send one project to multiple creators. Start with a manageable group so you can answer questions promptly and compare responses consistently. The project should state the product, audience, deliverables, deadline, review process, usage, disclosure expectation and rate or budget range.

Do not treat a listed interest as acceptance. It is a discovery signal, not an agreement. Confirm availability, conflicts, exclusivity and the exact rights you need before work begins.

Sample outreach structure

  1. Identify your brand and why the creator’s recent work fits the campaign.
  2. State the audience, product and requested format in one or two sentences.
  3. List the deliverables, timing, review steps, usage and disclosure requirement.
  4. Give the rate or budget range and ask whether the creator is available.
  5. Invite questions and specify the next decision date.

Disclosure and branded-content checks

Meta Help Center guidance says the paid partnership label is required when branded content involves an exchange of value. The examples include payment, free or loaned products and affiliate links. Instagram policy wording and enforcement can change, so review the current requirements in your account before publication and agree with the creator on how the disclosure will appear.

Keep disclosure separate from performance promises. A creator’s interest, portfolio or recommendation indicator does not guarantee clicks, sales or ad results.

What the available performance evidence means

Meta reported that adding Partnership Ads to usual campaigns produced an average 19% lower cost per action and 13% higher click-through rate in an experiment that ran June 14–21, 2025, across placements and Link Click and Offsite Conversion objectives with about 2,400 advertisers. Those figures describe that experiment, not a guaranteed result from finding an influencer or running every partnership campaign.

Troubleshooting common discovery problems

Creator Marketplace is missing

Check that you are using the correct Meta Business Suite account and an eligible professional setup, then check again for regional or account-level rollout differences. Use keyword, hashtag, competitor and customer discovery while you wait; do not assume that a missing menu means no creators are available.

The results are too broad

Tighten audience attributes, add location or language requirements and define the deliverable before searching again. Remove generic category words that attract unrelated content and use the recent-feed review to eliminate weak matches.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The shortlist is too small

Widen one constraint at a time, such as format or audience size, while keeping the campaign’s essential geography and subject fixed. Try similar-creator recommendations if that feature appears in your account, then supplement with manual searches and existing-customer mentions.

A creator does not respond

Send a clear project with requirements and rate, allow a reasonable response window and keep alternatives active. Do not infer agreement from a public contact address or an interest signal.

The content does not meet the brief

Resolve the mismatch before publication through the agreed review process. If the required format, claims or usage rights were not written down, revise the brief and terms rather than relying on an informal assumption.

A practical decision rule

Use Creator Marketplace first when it is available, because its filters, portfolios, interest signals and project flow reduce discovery friction. Add manual searches when you need broader coverage, and choose only creators whose audience, content and terms all match the campaign. Document the evidence, confirm the deal in writing and check the current paid-partnership requirements before anything goes live.
