For broadcasts you own, start with Periscope’s web download dashboard. Sign in, choose Send Data Request from the three-dot menu, wait for processing, then download each available recording. X says each download link works for seven days. If the dashboard fails, request an archive from X. Periscope’s iOS and Android apps shut down on March 31, 2021, so old app-based instructions are historical only.
Download your own broadcasts from the Periscope dashboard
X still documents the following owner-download process in its Periscope account-management help page:
- Open the official Periscope web dashboard and sign in with the account linked to your broadcasts.
- Open the three-dot menu at the top of the dashboard.
- Select Send Data Request.
- Wait until the request is processed. Large or old accounts may take time.
- Scroll to the broadcast list and select Download beside each recording you want.
- Save each video to your computer or external storage.
The dashboard only lists recordings that are still available in your account archive. X does not promise a particular filename, extension, resolution, audio format, comments, or chat-overlay preservation.
Download links expire after seven days
According to X, generated broadcast links remain valid for seven days. If a link returns an error or has expired, submit Send Data Request again and use the new links. X also says it is changing how broadcasts are stored and encourages users to download them while the option remains available; it has not published a universal deletion date. See the Periscope FAQ.

Request an X data archive
Use the broader X export as a fallback or in parallel:
- Sign in to X.
- Open Settings and privacy.
- Choose Your account.
- Select Download an archive of your data.
- Choose Request Archive.
X says the ZIP archive may take 24 hours or longer to arrive. Download it promptly and search its contents for Periscope, broadcasts, media, or video references. The help page identifies the archive as another download route, but does not guarantee that every historical replay, or every playable video file, will be included. The Periscope dashboard is therefore the better first choice for your own recordings.

If the dashboard is empty or unavailable
An empty list does not prove that every broadcast has been erased. Check these possibilities:
- Wrong account: Try every X account and sign-in method you used. X notes that the relevant account may have been connected through an old phone number, Google account, Facebook account, or another X login.
- Request still processing: Refresh later and check again before starting repeated requests.
- Expired link: Create a new data request; seven-day links are not reusable indefinitely.
- Deleted, expired, or never-recorded broadcast: A live session may not have produced a replay, or the stored copy may no longer exist.
- Service or browser problem: Try a current desktop browser, disable extensions that interfere with pop-ups or downloads, and sign in directly through X rather than a link supplied by an unknown site.
- Lost authentication: Account recovery may be the real issue. If you cannot recover the linked X, phone, Google, or Facebook account, Periscope access may be impossible.
Past public replays may still be viewable at pscp.tv, but public availability is not a preservation guarantee.

Saving a broadcast immediately after recording (historical instructions)
Older X help pages described saving a finished broadcast from the Periscope mobile app:
- On iOS, choose Save to Camera Roll.
- On Android, choose Save to Gallery.
- The apps also offered an automatic-save setting and an Auto Delete After 24hr option.
These controls cannot be used today: Periscope’s iOS and Android apps were shut down on March 31, 2021, and new Periscope accounts and old-app broadcasting are unavailable. They are useful only when interpreting old instructions or locating a copy that was already saved to a phone.

Can you download someone else’s Periscope replay?
The official owner instructions are account-based; they do not provide a general button for downloading any public replay. If a replay is still public and plays in your browser, a technically capable viewer may be able to capture it with a reputable browser extension or media utility. That is an unofficial method and can fail when stream URLs expire, the replay requires authentication, delivery formats change, or geographic/account restrictions apply.

Do not give your X or Periscope password to a downloader, bypass a private broadcast or login restriction, or attempt to recover deleted content. Respect copyright, privacy, and publicity rights, and obtain the broadcaster’s permission where appropriate. A product such as Periscope Downloader by SERP Apps claims to detect accessible replay streams and says it is independent of X and Periscope; its current reliability, pricing, and privacy practices are not verified here. It should not replace the official archive route or be treated as a universal solution.

Last-resort recovery
If the official services cannot find the recording, search places where you may already have a copy:
- Phone Camera Roll or Gallery, including deleted-items folders and device backups.
- Computer Downloads folders, external drives, and cloud-sync services.
- Video-editing project folders and exported files.
- Copies sent to collaborators, clients, or friends.
- Old posts, embeds, or shared links that point to a downloadable copy.
If the replay belonged to somebody else, asking the broadcaster for the original file is usually safer and more reliable than an unknown downloader. For an account-access problem, use X’s account-recovery and support channels; support cannot guarantee restoration of content that has been deleted from storage.
Quick decision checklist
- Is this your broadcast? If yes, use the Periscope dashboard first.
- Can you sign in to the original linked account?
- Did you select Send Data Request and wait for completion?
- Has the seven-day download window passed?
- Have you requested an X archive through Settings and privacy → Your account → Download an archive of your data?
- Is the replay public and still playable, or is it private/deleted?
- Have you checked local devices, cloud backups, and previously shared copies?
The Bottom Line
For your own Periscope broadcasts, request them from the web dashboard now and download every available file before its seven-day link expires. Use an X data archive as backup, but do not assume it contains every old video. Private, deleted, inaccessible, or no-longer-stored broadcasts may not be recoverable.
