Windows 11 can show supported additional calendars and clocks for other time zones in the taskbar’s date-and-time flyout. They are configured separately, and extra clocks appear in the flyout—not as a row of permanent clocks beside the taskbar clock. The available calendar choices are limited and can depend on your region and Windows build.
What Windows means by extra calendars and clocks
Your main taskbar clock follows the PC’s configured time zone, while the primary calendar follows Windows’ regional and calendar settings. An additional calendar is a supported second calendar display in the calendar flyout. An additional clock shows the time in another selected time zone. Neither feature is the same as calendars inside Outlook or another calendar app.
Microsoft documents additional Simplified Chinese Lunar and Traditional Chinese Lunar calendar options, with defaults linked to particular locales; it does not document the taskbar control as a general way to combine any two calendar systems. Microsoft’s taskbar policy documentation describes the locale behavior. Extra clocks are for checking other locations from the flyout, rather than permanently replacing or multiplying the main taskbar clock.
Show an additional calendar
- Press Windows + I to open Settings.
- Go to Time & language > Date & time.
- Expand Additional settings, if it is collapsed.
- Find Show additional calendars in the taskbar and choose an option offered on your PC.
- Open the taskbar date/time flyout to check the result.
The additional calendar appears in the flyout, not as a separate permanent taskbar item. The choices you see can depend on Windows’ locale, language, and build. If the calendar you need—such as Hijri or Hebrew—is not offered, Windows’ built-in taskbar control may not support that pairing. Check Settings > Time & language > Language & region for relevant regional options, but be aware that changing region can also affect date, number, and currency formats and other app defaults. For a calendar system Windows does not offer here, use a calendar app or web service that explicitly supports it rather than relying on an unofficial registry change.

Add clocks for other time zones
On current Windows 11 experiences, Microsoft is bringing additional-clock controls into Settings. The exact label and placement can vary as features roll out, so first try this route:
- Press Windows + I, then open Time & language > Date & time.
- Look under Additional settings for Additional clocks or Add clocks for different time zones. If you do not see the section, search Settings for additional clocks.
- Enable an available clock, select the time zone, and enter a short display name such as London, Tokyo, or UTC.
- If another clock slot is offered, configure it the same way. Select Apply or OK if the interface presents those buttons.
- Select the taskbar clock/date—or press Windows + N—to open the flyout and confirm the clocks appear.
Choose a named region or city where available rather than relying on a manually calculated UTC offset. Regional time-zone rules can change, including for daylight saving time. Microsoft’s Windows 11 rollout announcement describes the newer Settings location; labels and availability may differ across releases.

Fallback: use the classic Date and Time dialog
If your Settings page has no additional-clock controls, use the compatibility route:

- Press Windows + R, type
timedate.cpl, then press Enter. - Open the Additional Clocks tab.
- Enable a clock, choose its time zone, and enter a display name. Configure the other available slot if needed.
- Select Apply, then OK, and open the taskbar date/time flyout to verify.
This classic dialog remains a useful fallback, but it is not necessarily exposed through the same Settings link on every Windows 11 build.

If the calendar or clocks do not appear
- The taskbar clock is missing: Open Settings > Time & language > Date & time and check Show time and date in the System tray. Microsoft documents this control in its date and time settings guidance.
- You saved a clock but cannot see it: Open the date/time flyout. Additional clocks are normally shown there, not as separate permanent taskbar clocks.
- The flyout will not expand: Try Windows + N. Check whether notifications or the notification experience are disabled by a setting or administrator policy; Microsoft notes that disabling Notifications and Action Center can prevent the calendar from expanding. Sign out and back in, or restart the PC, if the flyout remains unresponsive.
- You are using multiple monitors: With displays set to Extend, Microsoft documents the calendar flyout as opening only from the primary monitor. Check Settings > System > Display to identify the primary display. Behavior can differ when displays are duplicated. See Microsoft’s multi-monitor calendar guidance.
- The calendar option is missing or unavailable: Your locale may not expose that calendar, or a work or school administrator may restrict the setting. Microsoft documents a Show additional calendar policy under User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Start Menu and Taskbar; on managed PCs, ask your administrator about restrictions rather than trying to override them.
- The displayed time seems wrong: Check the PC’s main time-zone settings as well as the selected additional time zone. A city or region selection is less likely to become wrong after a daylight-saving change than a fixed offset.
If the interface seems stale after a Windows update, check for updates and sign out and back in before trying the classic dialog. The clock and flyout controls are documented under Microsoft’s taskbar customization guidance.

The taskbar flyout is a quick reference, not a full calendar or world-clock workspace. Windows does not generally offer unlimited permanent taskbar clocks or guarantee arbitrary dual-calendar combinations through these controls. For a full calendar with event sync, multiple calendar systems, or meeting-planning across many regions, use an app or web tool designed for that job. You can keep the built-in clocks for quick checks without changing your main PC time zone.
