You can create an affiliate product box without writing code by using a WordPress plugin, a hosted box builder with a supported embed, or your site’s native block system. The practical workflow is: choose a compatible tool, add accurate product data and a tagged affiliate URL, insert the box, test the result, and place a clear commission disclosure beside the recommendation.
Choose the no-code route that matches your website
“No coding” still requires a publishing platform and an insertion method that works with it. Start by identifying where the article is hosted, then confirm the tool’s current compatibility, editor support, and data features before building boxes in production.
| Route | How you insert it | Product-data approach | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| WordPress plugin | Block, shortcode, or plugin interface | Manual fields or a saved product record | Current WordPress compatibility, supported editor, network coverage, and maintenance process |
| Hosted builder | Vendor plugin or script/embed supplied for your platform | Vendor-managed, manually entered, or synchronized data depending on the service | Whether the exact integration works with your theme and platform, plus plan limits and terms |
| Retailer link tool alone | Tagged text or button link | Retailer page supplies the product details | It may create a compliant affiliate URL but not a styled product box |
WordPress plugin examples
The Affiliate Product Boxes listing describes a custom affiliate-products post type with fields for a title, description, price, affiliate link, rating, and thumbnail, followed by shortcode insertion. It lists WordPress 5.6 or higher; check the live listing for current compatibility and features.
Doozly’s listing describes saving a product box and inserting its shortcode. Product details live in the saved box rather than being duplicated in every post, so changing that record can update its placements; the saved data still needs regular review.

AffiStyle’s listing describes product boxes, review cards, Gutenberg blocks, shortcodes, and several affiliate networks. Treat these as the plugin’s advertised functions and confirm the listing’s current status before relying on them.
Hosted and multi-platform builders
AffiliateBoxes’ feature page advertises WordPress synchronization and script embeds for Squarespace, Ghost, Wix, and static HTML, as well as support claims for Amazon, Walmart, Awin, CJ, and ShareASale. Those are vendor statements, not independent tests. Confirm that the embed is allowed on your platform, works with your theme, and includes the networks you actually use.

Build the box step by step
- Confirm the platform and insertion method. On WordPress, decide whether you want a Gutenberg block, a saved shortcode, or a plugin’s product-record workflow. On another platform, follow the builder’s documented plugin or script embed instructions and check whether your plan permits custom embeds.
- Decide who maintains the product data. Manual fields give you control but make you responsible for every update. A saved-box system centralizes edits. API-backed or vendor-synced data may reduce manual work, but availability depends on the tool, plan, affiliate network, and applicable license terms.
- Create the affiliate URL through the retailer or network. The box plugin does not grant affiliate-program membership or make a link eligible. For Amazon, SiteStripe Help explains how Associates can create tagged links directly while viewing an Amazon page, including product-specific links. SiteStripe is evidence of link creation, not of a styled-box builder.
- Enter only information you can keep accurate. Add the product name, a concise description, image or thumbnail permitted by the program, destination URL, and any rating or price field your tool supports. Do not copy a price or availability value into a static box unless the affiliate program’s rules allow that display method.
- Insert the box in the article. Select the plugin block, paste its shortcode where the recommendation belongs, or add the hosted builder’s supported embed. Keep the call to action specific, such as “View at Amazon,” rather than implying a discount or feature you cannot substantiate.
- Preview and test before publishing. Check desktop and mobile layouts, image loading, text contrast, button focus, and the destination URL. Open the link to ensure it reaches the intended product page and retains the correct tracking tag. These are editorial checks; the cited listings do not independently establish accessibility, speed, or conversion performance.
- Add the disclosure next to the recommendation. Place a plain-language statement near the box or link, not only on a distant disclosure page. Amazon’s help gives examples such as “(paid link),” “#ad,” and “#CommissionsEarned.” Follow the wording and placement rules for every network you use.
- Schedule a maintenance review. Recheck links, product identity, images, claims, and any displayed commercial data whenever the retailer changes a listing or your box tool changes. A centralized saved box simplifies editing but does not eliminate this responsibility.
Keep Amazon boxes compliant
Use the required identification statement
For the U.S. Associates program, Amazon’s Operating Agreement requires the statement: “As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.” Verify the current agreement for the marketplace in which you participate; wording and obligations can differ by region.
Handle price and availability carefully
Amazon says prices and availability can change and may be displayed only under specified conditions. Under Amazon Associates policies, the data generally must be served by Amazon or obtained through Creators API or Product Advertising API (PA API) use with the applicable license requirements. If your box cannot keep those values compliant, omit the price and availability rather than publishing a stale figure.

Avoid unsupported product claims
Do not describe an item as “best,” “in stock,” discounted, or suitable for a particular use unless the current product page and your evidence support the claim. Amazon’s policies prohibit inaccurate, overbroad, deceptive, or misleading product statements.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Write a disclosure readers can understand
The Federal Trade Commission says, “You should disclose your relationship to the retailer clearly and conspicuously on your site, so readers can decide how much weight to give your endorsement.” Its endorsement FAQ also explains that a disclosure should be close to the recommendation; separating it from the review or link can prevent readers from making the connection.
A practical placement is immediately above or below the box, for example: “We may earn a commission if you buy through this link.” Keep the required Amazon Associate identification statement on the site as well; a small link-level label does not replace that separate statement.
Quick Recap
Best Value
Troubleshoot the most common failures
The shortcode displays as text
- Confirm the shortcode is pasted into a shortcode-aware block, not a plain paragraph or code block.
- Check that the plugin is active and that its current version supports your WordPress and editor versions.
- Preview while logged out to rule out an editor-only rendering effect.
The embed is blank or broken on a non-WordPress site
- Verify that your plan and content-security settings permit the vendor’s script.
- Use the exact embed supplied for your platform and theme; do not alter its script URL.
- Ask the vendor whether the integration supports your site’s current template and caching setup.
The button goes to the wrong item or loses tracking
- Compare the box URL with the intended product page and regenerate the tagged link if necessary.
- Test the published page, not only the editor preview.
- Do not assume a redirect, shortened URL, or manually edited query string remains eligible under the network’s rules.
The displayed price is out of date
- Remove the static price until you have a compliant, current data source.
- For Amazon, review the policy conditions governing served or API-derived price data.
- Retain a maintenance owner and review date for every box that displays commercial information.
Before publishing: a no-code checklist
- The plugin, block, shortcode, or embed is supported by your current platform and plan.
- The affiliate account and link belong to the correct retailer, network, and marketplace.
- The product title, image, description, rating, and claims are accurate and permitted for reuse.
- Price and availability are omitted or displayed only under the program’s current conditions.
- The destination URL works on the published page and includes the intended tracking.
- A clear commission disclosure appears close to the recommendation.
- The required program identification statement is present where applicable.
- The box remains readable and usable on mobile and keyboard navigation.
- A person is assigned to review the box when product or program details change.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
